As long as the controls are good, the game should be good. Hopefully they also get it online. Also make sure to check out those screenshots. The game looks amazing for the ds, especially considering its an early build of the game.

the screenshots do look pretty amazing. They look kinda 32 or 64-bit-ish, but they're clean and crisp, which is the most important thing. If this game turns out well, it'll be another reason for me to buy a DS.

Hopefully it will turn out good. Majesco has been making pretty good games for ds. Nanostray and age of the empires, I thought turned out good. So I'm sure mechassault will turn out good too.

Majesco made psychonauts for the PS2, too, right?

I'm waiting on Mechassualt 360. It looks pretty cool, but I think for MA you need two joysticks.

Or a mouse and keyboard
The DS touch screen is like a mouse. Then you use the arrows like the keyboard. Actually ds touch screen is mroe accurate than 2 analog sticks.
but yeah mech assault will of course be better on 360. Just because they put a bit more time and money in to console games. but the controls should be better on the DS and pc

I don't care for mouse and keyboard much, for some reason I find dual-sticks a lot funner.

Meh, I'm sur they can work out the controls. And a mobile destruction tour sounds fun. Especially if it has single-cart network play. I can get into 16 person games while on the train to work. :D

yeah it takes a while to get use to mouse and keyboard or touch screen, when you're use to console gaming.
analog sticks are a bit harder to aim with, without auto aim. Perfect dark is a good example since it doesn't use auto aim. I don't think it does at least.

Looks good, I'll have to check it out when it is released, since I'm always up for a good mech game.

BUMPing a six month old thread to ask if there are any developments on this game? Is it actually going to be released? I just bought a DS Lite, so now I'm actually interested

http://ds.ign.com/articles/689/689233p1.html <- first thing that came up in a Google search for "Mechassault DS".. Dated feb 16 2006 though, but since it mentions that Backbone, the people behind Age Of Empires is behind MADS, it should be good.

I googled it, too, and I saw an IGN thing that said the release date is the 29th of this month. Will be interesting to see if they stick to that.

I loved MA 1, hated 2.
Wasn't a fan of Chromehounds.
Loved Mech warrior.
Never got to play much Armoured core but it seemed good.
And that's me with Mech games, lol.
