There are seven seasons of Ranma 1/2, plus an OAV box set and three movies (one in the OAV set). You should have no problems finding more if you liked the Digital Dojo.

Same with InuYasha. I'm not sure how many 'seasons' there are, but there's well over a hundred episodes. Gotta imagine there's at least a few seasons in there.

*checks*

Yeah. Seven seasons, four films.

There are only two anime I wish to see sequels to...and those two definitely are Fruits Basket and Peacemaker Kurogane.

Fruits Basket still has more to cover from the manga, and I definitely would like to see Rin and Kureno (the last two members of the juunishi) introduced. (Also...the new revelations about Akito would be interesting to see in the second season.) It doesn't seem very likely that a second season will be made, however...unless it is made after the manga ends. ^_^

As for PMK, I want to see a continuation of the series because of the cliffhanger that the first season ended on; the manga still had plenty of material for a second season to be made. Also...I'm sure I'm not the only one who wondered what would happen to Suzu. That bugged me to no end...even though I've read the parts of the sequel manga that have been translated. (Suzu's revenge arc would have been nice to see in the anime, IMO.)

Though it would have completely destroyed the thematic ending, a sequel to Wolf's Rain would have been welcome if only for an AU adventure.

I want a sequel to Berserk, and that's it.

Guts: I'm going to kill the main antagonist of the show now, and am being hunted by demons!
*Show ends*

Luckily the manga continues way past where the anime left off.

Shows you listed that have more than 2 seasons already:
Kenshin
GTO
Inu-Yasha
Ranma 1/2

^ Punctuation can be your friend. Take a breath.

I know that Ranma 1/2 stops about halfway through the manga. So when you say, "Season 2" in this thread, you really just mean "more"? Just trying to clarify, because I've never heard anyone refer to the entirety of the Ranma 1/2 anime as "Season 1". Same with InuYasha. I honestly thought you weren't aware that more existed than what everyone else calls the first seasons.

If "more than what currently exists" is what you mean, then I've always thought the Herb arc would make a great 3-episode arc for Ranma 1/2.

Berserk and Fruits Basket really deserve a second season, since they're too good to just be left hanging. Nadesico should also get a second season, but only if it completely disregards the movie.

Berserk. You know what needs to happen is Berserk needs an OVA series that follows the manga more closely. You know, like how Hellsing is getting the exact same thing.

It would be great to have a second season to Fruits Basket. Its long overdue, and the manga has gone way beyond the events the last episode of the TV series. Character relationships develop more and the story takes another direction. This series is so popular, I hope an anime studio recoginzes what fans have been asking for.

I would love for a fourth season of Slayers too. Alot has already been said about Shabrangido and Dark Star, but almost nothing from Chaotic Blue and Death Fog. There are also other mysteries about in this series such as Luna Inverse and Zelas-Metallium. It would be nice if we got to see a return of this series, and maybe a happier ending for Zelgadis.

On the other hand, as much as I would like to see a new season to Ayashi no Ceres, its never going to happen because the entire story of the manga was already done into an anime. The most we can see from here is a spin-off series which I don't think we're going to see anytime soon.

Berserk, of course. I've heard a rumor that Kentaro Miura was open to the idea, but wanted to finish the series first. Of course, that's just a rumor so take that with a whole bottle of salt. The only way I could see it being done would be as OVAs. Some of the scenes (okay, a LOT of the scenes) later in the manga are way too extreme for television.
Others:
Fruits Basket
Peacemaker
Haibane Renmei
Revolutionary Girl Utena
(Okay, those last two are probably just me)

^ Yeah, I tried that. Evidently folks in this thread are talking about all seven seasons plus OAV & three movies of Ranma as Season 1, because it doesn't cover all of the manga. I don't personally get it, but it seems to work for them.

Slam Dunk - The last two games weren't animated. Oh how I wish they were.
Hana Yori Dango - Anime only covers about half
Hajime no Ippo - The manga is still going strong and there is TONS to animate. I have a feeling we will see more some day.
Hikaru no Go - Just give me another special or two and I'll be a happy man.
Basara - 13 episodes? This series needed to be 75 at the very least.
Kenshin - Jinchuu would be nice
Fruits Basket - Lots more to cover
Kare Kano - Same as above
City Hunter - There is no such thing as too much City Hunter
Whistle! - Much more manga

Hey people im new here they are going to do a second season of fma right?

It already ran for two seasons, didn't it?

I think this stems from the same origin of the problems Desslock was having explaining about Ranma (which I'll admit, Ranma's season organization is messed up).

A typical TV season in Japan consists of 26 episodes. Many anime series run simply for that one season and then end. More are beginning to run for a half season around 13 episodes. The series that fall into this length but remain unfinished for varying reasons are the series that should be defined as "needing a second season".

Other series that have run continuously but have run more than 26 episodes - Dragonball Z, Naruto, Rurouni Kenshin, or any Gundam TV series - are singular series, but comprised of multiple seasons. Kenshin itself can be broken down into five main story-arcs over three seasons; series like Dragonball and Naruto represent an inverse of that. Gundam TV series run around 2 seasons, with only a few falling close to the 1.5 season, but since the stories themselves are mildly self-contained and focus on a single storyline, many rarely think them to be of seperate seasons.

Sailormoon, while running continuously with reletively large over-arching stories broke it's seasons into sequels. This is a grey area of the whole series/season. Likewise, Ranma 1/2 technically had two TV series; the first TV series ran for the first season (Viz's Digital Dojo/Season 1 boxset) but the second TV series goes on to comprise six seasons worth of material. This is neglecting all of the other side material, such as theatrical releases (and OAVs for Ranma; Live Drama and Musicals for Sailormoon).

So, if the OP's question was "What anime would deserve to be continued" to an ending closer to the manga, I agree with all that have been mentioned before and cannot think of any to add to the list. Though, asking for series that deserve a second season and then listing multi-season seasons that follow it lead to confused posts and 3 1/2 paragraphs working through a can of symantics worms.

Beserk, and Fruits Basket could use more. Please no more Innuyasha, just edit together a few clips from previous episodes, and it might as well be a new season, because its all the same after about 5 episodes. More Hikaru no Go would be awesome. More Hellsing, but pickinup up where the TV left off.

I'd like a second season of Peacemaker Kurogane (perhaps an animated version of the second manga series). As it stands, the anime ends with a few questions left unanswered - not that it's nerve-racking or even bothersome, but it'd be nice to have those questions answered.

Except in Japan, apparently. My guess is that most Japanese networks air anime the same way most U.S. networks air live-action shows: Shows are aired by season, with a season finale at the end of each season. When the season is over, the network shows re-runs until the start of the next season.

I'm sure you meant me as I illustrated FMA kind of as an example.

Not really. Japanese networks will run a series as long as it is slated or until the storyline runs out; cancelations are rare. Nextwork broadcasters set 24 episodes/weeks as constituting a "standard" and most broadcasters adhere to that. So, while shows like Gundam TV series, Full Metal Alchemist, Dragonball, etc all ran continuously (as in, there was no seson finale and season opener with a time period in between, as is on American television), they still constitute multiple seasons due the the number of episodes aired and the time it took to air them. Hence, why I said Full Metal Alchemist is two "seasons" already; it's just that the two seasons are combined into one story.

Since we were talking about Japanese anime, I decided to use the Japanese broadcast standard. If we were talking about Family Guy or 24, then I would use the American broadcast standard of 24 episodes. If were talking something like Monty Python or Black Adder, I now know the UK broadcast standard is 51. Just trying to keep apples to apples here.

Higurashi no Naku Koro ni for second season. For me, the series didnt resolved that much it only adds more mysteries to it. More like its just a loop like the Silent Hill series. Infact, its more like Twin Peaks and Silent Hill. Same pattern... :(

Atleast I've seen what I really want to see in the series:

Keichii hugs no, he embraced Mion! ^_^ KAWAII! And yeah, this is the reason why I dont like Shion more and more. I've finished the whole series and so far, its Shion have the most despicable thing done. Good for her she falls in the building...

And yeah, DN angel

What really happened to Dark after that incident? Is he just gone or did he really not existed anymore? Its not that conclusive either, and what happened to the artworks after that? Is that just vanished?

If we are talking about true second seasons I would not mind seeing another season of the Kamichu! anime. That was just a very warm, enjoyable series and I would love to see more of Yurie-sama. :)

A second season of Shakugan no Shana would be a good thing, too. I have heard that a movie is in the works, but I'm not sure if anyone has confirmed a second season yet.

If you are just talking about another season, however, Ai Yori Aoshi would be at the top of my list. The second season (Ai Yori Aoshi ~ Enishi) of the anime kind of leaves the story and characters both hanging, and the manga carries things well past that point.

Another season of Ah! My Goddess would be welcome, too. Much like Ai Yori Aoshi , the second season (Ah! My Goddess: Everyone Has Wings) leaves things hanging, and the manga continues well past last episode (actually there is probably enough material in the manga for several more seasons).

Finally, I'd love to see at least one more season of Full Metal Panc! That's one of my favorite series but just three seasons leaves plenty of more room for more.

That's because the first season didn't cover everything. The second season airs either in Spring or Summer and should cover all of the remaining 'games.'
