I absolutely love the Deathnote manga and I'd love to see it be made into an anime. Now that it's getting about 1-2 Asian movies it seems more than popular enough to get it's own anime.
That being said, what do you think is the liklihood of an anime being made? And if one is made, how many more chapters of manga do you think they'll let be produced before it is?

Considering that there is going to be a live action movie, I think that it is somewhat likely. However, if there never was a live action movie, I'd seriously doubt it.

I've been under the impression that it's beein in the making for a while now. Maybe I'm mistaken, though, I don't remember my source other than AnimeonDVD forums.

Moon Phase only lists (http://www.moonphase.cc/Html/anime.html) the upcoming two live action movies. No anime. But considering that the series is popular enough to get adapted into two movies, I'd guess that the odds of an anime adaptation are also pretty good.

I seriously can't wait for the anime series, yet I don't want it to start till the manga is just about wrapping up. If the live action movies do well (which they will) then the odds of an anime series are very likely. Death Note will be HUGE in the fansubs community and just about every group on the planet will be working on it.

Its a Shonen Jump title, I would think it would be very likely.

This is a great manga. Some people would argue that the anime would be too much sitting around and talking. However, I still say give it a chance because it is such an amazing manga.

I have to disagree. Saying its boring and all talk is like saying "A Few Good Men" with Tom Cruise, Jack Nicholson and Demi Moore or "Philadelphia" w/ Tom Hanks and Denzel Washington is boring and all talk.
