The art and color isn't that bad, although I wish they hadn't used the same image for both sides. My complaint is with what the box is made of. It's like thin cardboard/thick paper. Kind of like the boxes Game Boy games come in (best example I could think of right now).

Yeah what the box is made of is my main problem too.
I'd say it's made like the artbox's Central Park Media use's for their complete collection's Project Ako , Maze , DNA2 , and Geobreeders to name a few.
It's just really lower quality than I would expect from Bandai Now a days.
I think I said this earlier someplace if not for the T-shirt I would have felt cheated out of $10.00's myself.

I was extremely disappointed with the My-Hime box. If this is an indication of things to come I think I might just join the Leader Desslock camp and boycott Vol. 1 + box releases and just buy the complete box set after the series is completely released. I can watch it all at once then anyway. I'm definately not paying money for boxes of this quality ever again though.

Nice looking box, huh? Well, maybe this will be the one thing released by Bandai I won't be disappointed with. Either way, I wish mine would hurry up and ship out! :(

Yeah, the box is nice and its sturdy as well. It is like the Oh My Goddess box. You take the top part off get to the DVDs, so you don't have to worry about the inside of the box collecting dust while you wait for the DVDs to fill it. Plus it comes with a CD, T-Shirt and manga (and the cover is different than the one that is sold on its own).

And the DVD itself actually has extras, unlike a lot of Bandai releases these days. It has a commentary track for episode 1 (with the Japanese VAs, not the english ones) and a voice actor interview of some sort (the case just says "Voice Actor Interview" so I can't tell if it is English of Japanese).

Cool, Thanks for the info. Well, looks like I may be in this for the long haul (or at least half of the long haul), but I'll admit that this is a total blind buy for me. So I'm really hoping that I'll enjoy it. I've heard it proclaimed as being akin to the likes of FLCL, Fullmetal Alchemist, and a mishmash of mecha anime. Sounds like a winner to me.

That's pretty much what I paid at Circuit City. The pricesticker said it cost $19.95 but it rang up for like $14.95. Went to work and my co-worker said his friend went out and picked it up somewhere for $30 dollars.

No thanks, I almost saw it then didn't for my own reasons. Right now I'm looking for something to fill the void left by NGE, and I'm hoping Fafner will be it. I'm just not sure about all the content (as a serious Christian I have to look at this first).

Hell no Fafner won't fill that void, RahXephon will. That has real character drama & romance & theres nothing religious about it. Its not like Evangelion, its similar in some ways but its really very different.
