*sighs dreamily to herself* Yay! This day has immediately become special! :D (I wasn't expecting this! The cliffhanger in the last chapter shocked me too much. XD) This shall be "Kyou and Tohru's lovely first kiss!" day! *runs off to read translation of chapter*

Yeah, I was really happy too when I saw that pic, but after I read the translation I wasn't as happy. This is a VERY sad chapter, let me know when you read the translation or if you need help finding it. :) I want to know what you think after you read it.

Even though I would prefer that Tohru would neither end up with Yuki or Kyou, I heavily favor Kyou over Yuki any day really. >_> Geez, I really need to start collecting Furuba again (<---stopped at Vol. 12 of the Japanese version)...

I wonder what's gonna happen next...Poor Tohru-chan...

It's been years since I saw the anime and I actually, finally bought volume 1 today of the manga. I sort of had hte feeling in the anime, especially near the end, they would've hooked up if given the chance...but anyway....kawaiiiiiiiii....

Yeah, I read it a few days ago...and I found scans on another site over the weekend. :crybaby: It really seems like Tohru will probably die. I just couldn't take it if that happened...I'm hoping Natsuki Takaya will spare Tohru and let her live together with Kyou. (But...Tohru's "goodbye" to Kyou was very convincing to me that she might die...especially when she was thinking in her head, "I want you to live...even if I'm not there by your side." It was such a sad chapter...and the next one won't be out until March! :crybaby:

Yeah, I was in tears almost the whole time I was reading the chapter. It really seems like she is not going to live to me either, and I think that because of her good by also. That line that you quoted was what really got me. And the shot of the blood on Kyo's hand before he kissed her. I can't wait to read what is going to happen next. I just can't belive that this story is playing out like this. I am really glad that they kissed, but why did it have to be like this? Couldn't it have been in last chapter when Tohru confessed to him?! But I am still keeping my fingers crossed that we will still see a happy ending. Did you see Yuki giving Kyo the evil eye when Kyo bent down to touch Tohru? That was awesome!!

Did you see Yuki giving Kyo the evil eye when Kyo bent down to touch Tohru? That was awesome!!

I was reading on another forum about how things said in another volume foreshadowed this terrible circumstance. In volume 1, Shigure told Kyou precisely, "For the sake of the girl who will one day tell you she loves you...do not run away." But...Kyou did run away, didn't he? And then this terrible accident occurred...I guess Kyou should have thought back to Shigure's advice; I'm sure Shigure will remind him if Tohru does happen to die. Yeah, you and me both would have loved to see that ending. Maybe we'll still get it..... *puts hands together and prays!*

Yeah me too. It's awful that we have to wait untill March to see what happens next. I don't think any manga I have ever read has left off in this much of a cliffhanger!!! I will try to post on here as SOON as I get the next chapter.

Wow, that was so kawaii!! I have always wanted to see them together, and now officially the first kiss between KyoXTohru!! I don't know how Tohru was down in the ground like that like if she was attacked, but it really makes me want to pick up the manga even more. I have only seen up to the end of the anime. I see this is really worth it!! Forgive me for barging in your way, but this really caught my eye. It's so exciting. :redface:

This was a really exciting chapter, and the scan is one you can't pass up to look at. :) I put links on one of the posts at the top of the page to the summary and scans if you'd like to see what else happened in the chapter. And yes, you should start getting this manga, it's one of the best out there. Much better then the anime, and to me that says a lot because it's one of my all time favorites!

It should be in volume 21, but that just a guess baised on how many chapters have been in the other volumes. It will a long loooong time before that volume makes it to the US. It's going to be a while before it's even out in Japan.

Personally, I'm pretty sure that she'll pull through, though. FB just doesn't strike me as a series that would end like that. This is just the emotional climax leading up to the denoumont. ^_^

SPOILER!: In all of Takaya's other mangas(well, the few I've read) She tends to kill of the characters like Tooru. :-( unfortunatly, II think she'll do tht here, too. I am also very happy for Tooru and Kyou finally getting their kiss, and many of us(the fans ;p) are, too. ^^ I hope Takaya doesn't kill Tooru, also. But... you can never tell. :-(

Looks the preview for 123 is out and so far from what I can find....... Tohru is alive, and is in the hospital. Yuki confronts Kyo about trying to run away from his feelings for Tohru. Yuki tells Kyo to hurry up and go to the hospital to see Tohru, but he forgets to tell him that the hospital is closed at night. This chapter also shows Yuki going "Black" like Haru does, and freaks everyone out. So there are some light hearted moments in this chapter at least. I will post pics as soon as I find them. :)

I think they will stay friends. From looking at the scans it seems Akito really wants to be friends with Tohru, and knowing the way Tohru is she will try her best to be friends with Akito also. This was a great chapter, and I can't wait to see how things come together in the next chapter. I really want to see when Tohru and Kyo see each other again. I hope he finally tells her that he loves her!!!!

Yes, she is going to live and in this last chapter she has been let out of the hospital. She finally gets to see Kyo, but she runs away from him as soon as she sees him. Which is really funny!

OMG!!! If I knew all of this was going on about Fruits Basket I would had joined AN like years ago!!! Well I just sort of breezed through this forum just to get a grasp on what is going on in the manga. . . . . and I am lost for words!!!!! . .. . Ok um . . . so the english manga isn't up to date yet and Japan is still putting out more issue of this series??? :'( !!! Oh the humanity I do not know where to start!!!

I'm sure that what we will get from Kyo is (quite possibly) a kiss, as well as the cutest words to ever come out of his mouth in the entire series... ^_^

I finally gave in and stopped waiting for scanlations. Just finished reading up to chapter 128 with raw scans/summaries.

Ha, it's just like Tohru to run - I absolutely can't wait for Kyou to catch her. I've been waiting for Kyou-kun to confess for ages now... Then there's Yuki and Machi to look forward to. I wonder what's going to happen? Ah, the anticipation is killing me.

Eternal Blue is scanlating Fruits Basket, but they're only up to chapter 108. Other scanlation groups, of which I don't know the names, have released up to chapter 115. I won't provide any links since Fruits Basket is licensed.

Not sure what chapter it is off the top of my head, but I can tell you that the anime ends with the stories contained in volume 6 of the manga... Very early on, no? ^_~

Yes, chapters 31-33 of volume 6 contain the story that was in the last three episodes of the anime. The anime, however, had an ending that was not from the manga. (From the last episode of the anime, Tohru's confrontation with Akito never happened in the manga.)

However, the anime's timeline is a bit off...since certain chapters from vols. 7-8 happen in the anime (examples: Hiro's appearance, Ritsu's appearance) before volume six's events in anime. So...the anime series ends with volume six's events, but the series itself covers material up to volume 8.

I believe there are six chapters in the 18th volume, chapters 102-107.

Oh my...that was so beautiful. :'( That ending...wow...Takaya-sensei really made it great.

The second kiss was nice. Tohru's spazzing when Kyo told her this was their second time was great. XD

At the end of this chapter, need I even say that I almost cried when I saw Kyo holding Tohru...and then seeing that he was freed from the curse? The shocked expressions on their faces were great. Wow...this was a great chapter!

Anyway...speculation is still going that chapter 130 may or may not be the last chapter. Personally, I think Takaya-sensei will stick with 130 chapters and end it there. I know that's it highly unlikely that she will tie up all the loose ends...but it would be nice. An epilogue would be great too. ^_^

EDIT: Did Kyo and Tohru kiss? Because it looks like they almost did but didn't. And was Shigure freed from the curse.

It has not said if Shigure was freed from the curse yet or not. And Yes they did kiss, the picture is miss leading, but he tells her that that is their second kiss. :)

As for Shigure...I'm thinking he will be one of the last ones to be freed...somehow. As far as I know, he still has his curse...though I'm not exactly sure. (If he isn't freed yet, though, I hope he becomes freed after talking to Akito! Yeah, I'm rooting for them! :punch: )

I'm also looking forward to the whole situation between Yuki and Machi too... :)

(And, please, Takaya-sensei, you need to include Mayu and Hatori soon! PLEASE!!! :crybaby: )

I am really hoping that this next chapter won't be the last. I don't think that every thing can be wrapped up in one more chapter. I really want to see every thing get a nice clean wrap up. :)

Yup, as far as I know the next chapter (130) is set to be the last one. It is sad, but I am just hoping that the end will tie up most of the lose ends. :)

No, she does not die. I think I have links all the way to chapter 130 listed on here. The last link I posted does include the last 3 or so chapters.
And yes, the end looks like it's going to be really good. 131 is not the last chapter. 132 is due out in september and that may be the last. I can't seem to find any info that says which chapter will be the final. :)

it's a scanlation site, and Furuba isn't the only one on it. Seems its a legit fan-based site. but okay.... I didn't make the site. I just use it, and if Tokyo Pop was so concerned about losing sales, they would send the translations out sooner.

Yeah, I read it a few days ago...and I found scans on another site over the weekend. :crybaby: It really seems like Tohru will probably die. I just couldn't take it if that happened...I'm hoping Natsuki Takaya will spare Tohru and let her live together with Kyou. (But...Tohru's "goodbye" to Kyou was very convincing to me that she might die...especially when she was thinking in her head, "I want you to live...even if I'm not there by your side." It was such a sad chapter...and the next one won't be out until March! :crybaby:

^It was like that:
It was Akito that cutted her with a knife,because he was being crazy.She cutted Kureno too.The kiss was because before this thing happen she confessed her love to Kyo and he rejected her kinda at start-was scared of himself-.Other kiss happens too :)
I am lucky enough to have to wait only last volume-23 to get realesed to Italy,so scanlations aren't needed ^_^
