discountanimedvd.com offering Fullmetal Alchemist Movie: The Conqueror of Shambala in 10$ before shipping. Here's the perscription:
Audio Tracks: Dolby Digital

Subtitle: English, Chinese (On/Off)

Do you think this could be the LE edition of the movie or just a bootleg?
I mean, look at the region type: "All code , Region Free" - It's REG 2, not Multi-Regional...

All Code is Multi-regional. I will guarantee you that is a bootleg.

Based on the evidence, this is definitely a bootleg (Chinese subtitle option, zero-region, "$10")

Sorry, but the price is not right for the Limited Edition.
... Nor the item details.

That site is known for selling bootlegs.

The price alone should tell you it's a bootleg, but all the info you provided seals the deal.

and yes, I am guilty for buying from them. I bought a bootleg from them...
(Mai-Hime collection) and omg it was fake as hell. I could even tell that they cut out the cd labels and stuck them on with Elemers stick glue or Pritt. Not to mention the cd booklet was made out of freaking cheap cardboard... I'm sorry, but 26 episodes on 4 discs? no. bs. I reported them to that anti-bootleg association, but... they still infect this world.

I bought some stuff from them, and they were alright(Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicle for example).I can't find any other sites with region 2,plus i like the paper boxes, unlike the plastic ones that US licensed companies make. Also, the dvds are authentic,so whats the problem? That the subs are made in HK?

I think its because by buying them you arent supporting the creators/show itself. You are supporting the people who are making their own copies of the product.

Oh!I'm sorry then,i suppose. But US dvds cost even more than the Japanese dvds, and most titles are in English audio.Plus i have region 2....so what can i do???

What are you talking about? Japanese dvds go for $50-$60 a pop versus American dvds which cost only $30.

What can you do? Buy an all region dvd player and start buying legit anime dvds.

Well, R2 official releases are fine, they support the companies. But the hong kong bootlegs dont. Most the time when you see a dvd, and it says all region, and has chineese subs, its a bootleg. Some other signs are, if you take out the dvd, and notice the data site is purple, or that there is a gap in between the dvd and the cover, that is peelable, its fake.

Honestly, if you really dont care, you can go ahead and buy the bootlegs. They are definately a lot cheaper, the reason being, is that they are basically what you can find online for free, and burnt onto a disk with a printed label.

Ive actually seen R2 official dvd's for cheaper than american ones, its just the shipping that kills the price. It only takes a program that costs a penny at Best Buy to turn your PS2/Xbox into a multi-region player.

What your saying really doesnt make any sense, do you actually know what your talking about?

Japanese Region 2 DVDs really do cost more than US dvds. And these "boxsets" your talking about are more than likely to be bootlegs because if you really are buying Japanese R2 boxsets they are ALOT more in price than the US counterpart and your making yourself look like an idiot for saying they are cheaper when they really aren't.

Unless your just talking about anime DVDs in Region 2 since you are in Europe as am i then still they would be alot cheaper than the US DVDs. But if you did want to start buying legit then a mulit-region DVD player is a very good investment i should know 3 years now and my player is still going strong and its made anime so much easier to come by. So do yourself a favour and get your facts straight or explain your story a bit better :naughty:

Whatever!Since u know it all!!!!And "my story" is very well explained,i think.I have region 2,so i dont want any problems.I also have a lot dvds that were made to region 2 in UK,but I just dont like the boxes. They have nothing special, and technical, nothing different. But its ok.Say whatever you want.I would like to buy the Box sets i want to support the "original" companies, but i cant afford it.
Thank you.

OK then fair enough its just you kept saying that Japanese R2s are cheaper than US equivalents which makes no sense because they really aren't. Can certainly undererstand you having UK based R2 DVDs i have many myself but you keep saying japanese R2 boxsets which are insanely expensive, where exactly do you buy from?

I can tell you, right off the bat, this isn't legit. It's probably real in that it is a physical product, but not on the legal side of things.

Most of the same warning flags sent up were the same as the OP (Release company, subtitle options, episode-disc ratio). Also, doing a little bit of research, you won't find this series released in the US because it hasn't been released yet.

Sorry, to get this legit you'd have to buy the Japanese DVDs, which there are 12 discs for 23 episodes averageing $50.00 a pop. I think you're SOL.

Oh!I'm sorry then,i suppose. But US dvds cost even more than the Japanese dvds, and most titles are in English audio.Plus i have region 2....so what can i do???

Wow... I'm not only calling BS and shennanigans on this, I'll label this as "Epic Fail".

US DVDs have roughly twice the amount of content for half of the price and 99.9% of all titles come with two audio tracks and at least one English subtitle track. If you have R2 and aren't in Japan, you're most likley using a PAL or SECAM television set (unless you're watching all of these on a computer), so not only would you need a multi-region player, you would also need a TV that can convert NTSC (what Japan, US, and Canada use) to PAL/SECAM.

Since you obviously don't know what Japanese DVDs cost, here's my source in Japan; I find them to have pretty median prices to get a good idea: CD JAPAN (http://www.cdjapan.co.jp/). Oh, and a currency calculator just in case they do not have one to convert to Euros. XE (http://www.xe.com).

If you don't want to spend the money to buy an all region DVD player than I suggest that you purchase an American DVD player. Although I am no longer a Wal Mart employee.... You can purchase a cheap DVD player (19.99) before shipping. And Walmart.com will ship internationally. I say walmart.com because if you go to their sister site then your back where you where to begin with. Of course I understand that some european countries will require you to have an addapter for it, however it would allow you to view the "American" DVDs. Cheers

Sorry if I am late to post on this, but that cannot be legit. I paid at least $23 for my FMA Movie recently. And the "Release by" doesn't make any sense to me.

To put it into legit terms, it would read "Released By: FUNimation"; AnimeCartoon is a well known bootlegger from either Hong Kong or Taiwan, which is why "Released by: AnimeCartoon" reads like it wouldn't make much sense.

Thanks for clearing that up for me. I already knew that FMA was released by FUNimation. I was puzzled that it had just read AnimeCartoon on the one posted originally. Thanks again.
