And I'll have it served with extra Maple Syrup, please!
But on a more serious note, if this is true, I'm literaly going on a bid rampage. This game holds a very high place in my heart :)

I wouldn't be too surprised if we saw a sequel to VP sooner or later. It's easily Tri-Ace's best game.

I know they're supposedly making a port for PSP, but that's not what this appears to be. If we get a sequel to Valkyrie Profile, I'll be beyond elated.

I've been out of the loop for awhile, but when did VP become so popular? I gave up on the original after the second chapter when the feeling of repetitive boredom finally set in and have not touched it since.
Though this news of a possible sequel does respark my interest to dig out my copy and give the game another try.

As far as I know, it's not. It's just the people who liked it, such as myself, really liked it.

As long as they get rid of the time elements, its good. I detest time elements in games. Oh no I can only go into this dungeon or this city X times before the game forces advancement. Time Elements are flat out stupid. Otherwise the first is very good, and a sequel is well deserved.

I've heard good things about VP and I'd like to play it, but sadly, it's extremely rare.
If I ever see it used, I'll be sure to get it.

A second serving, anyone? (http://i.pic.to/594rf)
The game is a prequel, Valkyrie Profile 2: Silmeria. Awesome, now we'll get to see how (and why) Brahms got his undead hands on her, as well as maybe even a meeting with Hrist or Lenneth in their human incarnations as the plot would have it.

Funny, I was just playing the first game yesterday when I see this thread about VP2. I hated the time elements in the game. I hope it won't be included in the prequel. Oh, and the voice acting HAS to be better in VP2. I couldn't take the game seriously half the time because of the bad, bad voice acting.

Heh, wow. I forgot all about that game. I stopped playing after the first chapter; I just couldn't get into it for some reason. I did like it though.
And I wouldn't say that was easily Tri-Ace's best game. Star Ocean 2nd story was pretty good. Now that game, I adored.

That's because SO2 is their best game, this may be a bigger competitor if it doesnt have the time elements of the first.

I keep hearing about how good Valkyrie Profile is... Having not played it and the game selling for $100 in eBay, I have no interest to get it... Is it really that good?... I might get the sequel then...

Its not $100 good, but its better than the average RPG out there. I just emulated it to try it out but never bothered finishing because I hate time elements in games. I'll get the sequel as long as it doesnt have time elements.

Very nice (although the shot appears to be pre-rendered. If it's not, it's painfully gorgeous for a PS2 game).

It's one of the games I plan to buy or might get it for all of the other games I want for x-mas instead of a ps3.

The intro movie clip is awesome! I expected beauty when it came to Square making CG movies and VP2 is no exception! I half expected to hear god-awful voice acting, but nope, the voices sound quite good! There are a lot of games I want to get come fall and I can't get them all. Will VP2 be my "must buy upon release" game? Hmm...

This game looks AMAZING. Not to mention Lezard is back. From what I hear his appearance is for storyline purposes not just for kicks (i.e. Seraphic Gate, hidden dungeons, etc.) so I'm salivating at the mouth as I type this.

Yeah I just watched all the vids off IGN and this game is shaping up very nicely, going to replay the original after I finish Suikoden 5.

If the voice acting is a grating as the first I probably won't buy it.

I'm sure the dub will be fine. Square is pretty good at localization.

Ummmm.....yeah.....
Go To Game Trailers and there is a traile of the game, and the dub is OK, but there are lapses in the dialog, from what they guessed was the game loading the audio files.....
As a whole the game looks pretty good. It's going to be one of PS2's last bangs before it fizzles out, and Sony kills a good thing with the PS3.
