ye, i actually stumbled on the yaoi movement by reading fanfiction first before i even got my hands on any yaoi/shonen-ai manga/anime.

take the Yuki/Shuichi pairing, man, are there truckloads of fanfiction out there! then (i know its not anime) the harry/draco pairing, i really cant get enough of them....
