Well I guess I like the main character but for some reason its a terrible strugglefor me to sit through even a single episode. It reminds me of when Priates of the Carribean first came out, and I had just been hired at the movies theater which = free movies for me and a guess. And so I was made to see that movie 14 times in the theater with various people. The feeling of endlessness that I got from that movie due to overwatch is the same feeling I get whenever I watch Naruto.

I don't really find any of the characters annoying or such. Granted there's a few irritating ones, such as Gai, but as he provides so much quotable dialogue I forgive him his irritating persona. There's useless characters, like Chouji, but you can't hate him because he lacks jutsus on par with Neji, Kakashi, etc.

But if I had to pick one character I remotely dislike, it would probably be .... no, sorry, I love 'em all.

I find it really hard to dislike a main character while being able to enjoy any series. I certainly don't hate any character in Naruto, they all have their own intriguing qualities and without them the series just wouldn't be as interesting.

I can't stand Naruto (the character). It is possible for you to like a show or to have liked a show and not care for it's main character. I can't stand the kid. He's way to much of a jerk, can't stand the way he talks down to people, acts like he knows it all, can't stand that he always relies on the Nine-tails power when he should have been killed several times already. Due to the Nine-tails it's always seemed to me like he's never really had to work for anything. The last time and only time I think he has was during the Wave Country arc. So he's had a bad life, god forbid others deal with things personal to them a different way then he did. He feels and the show presents that his way of dealing with things is the only right way or only way of dealing with things. Ever since the start I couldn't stand the character.

Naruto tries everything to defend himself and the others,usually the Kyubi just activates...if Naruto dies then the Kyubi dies too.The Kyubi is just protecting where its body belongs to.
Also he is a 12 year old guy and we all know how anoying a 12 year old is.
If you cant stand the Character Naruto then dont watch it because Naruto (show/movie) is all about Naruto (character) the crator of this anime made him like this and no one can change that.
Now you can yell at me and do what you want be my guess ^ ^

For my most hated character would be Sakura.
She's a parasite i tell ya a Pink Darn Parasite!!

I'm not too big on Sasuke because he turns into a weakling after Orochimaru infects him with that mark. I strongly dislike Sakura because she's totally weak in battle. How does she even become a gennin? Chouji's a rather pointless character, though rather funny. I'd like Tsunade better if she didn't freeze up at the sight of blood. That's just lame. And Rock Lee is annoying.

I like her hair. It doesn't look like she uses anything in it but it sticks out in an interesting shape in the back. Its a dark black whichs suites her perfectly and has an attractive gloss. Personally I just want to run my hands through it affectionatly.

Its not that she would have to rely on me. Its a turn on because you know that she wouldn't be the backstabbing type. People are such ***** these days that shy girls are the only ones who keep my faith in humanity.

There have been a number of occasions when Oro has second guessed Kabuto and yet his intentions are obvious to us. I think Oro would be just as devoted to Kabuto if he could trust him enough.

He doesn't do it because he was messed up at the time. If this struggle was so pivotal to his character, the battle wouldn't have taked place in the first place. There was no revalation...no moment of zen. He just walks off gripping his messed up arm.

Obviously, by that point, he's not seeing the error of his ways; he's giving in. This is part of his character development. He must go down this dark road for better or for worse. Time will tell if it's for the worse.

The author has made it so that it is not within Sasuke's nature (currently) to laugh or smile. It's got something to do with his childhood, but it's got more to do with his particular character traits. You want to see him laugh and smile because (and I don't presume to know you, I'm just guessing) that is personally what you would like to see him do. But this is not the way Kishimoto has constructed his character. Kishimoto saw fit to make Naruto an altogether happier chap because that's part of Naruto's characteristics. Sasuke is bound by his very nature to have 'tunnel vision' and to be obsessed. This is his character and just because you don't happen to like those character traits does not mean that the character is one dimensional. All it means, is that you don't like those traits. Which is fair enough.

If this struggle was so pivotal to his character, the battle wouldn't have taked place in the first place.

I see where you're coming from, but I think you're missing the point. The battle took place because of his struggle. It's his struggle between right and wrong that affects decisions that he makes, the outcomes of which, other people then have to pay for. This is a classic literary and story telling device. Anti-heros from Macbeth to Darth Vader have fallen far from grace only to learn the error of their ways a) after a legion of loved ones have been hurt or b) when it's too late (usually right before they die or something).

Hopefully, Sasuke will redeem himself and see sense long before he dies! I am looking forward to seeing where Kishimoto takes his character and how dark he really gets.

The both of you make great points on this situation. Indeed Sasuke will undoubtly suffer from either outcome. Even if he succeeds in killing Itachi(which I don't want to happen) he'll still come out of the situation totally lossed. Let's say he's killed him, now what? What exactly does he do afterwords? Returning to Konoha wouldn't exactly be the best thing since he is considered exiled. Hell, he could even ice off Orochimaru and things still wouldn't be any different.

People should feel far more sorry for Itachi. Now I don't mean to look like a Pro-Itachi kind of guy but look at the circumstances. All his life growing up he most likely had zero friends(excluding Uchiha Shisui). Other people most likely saw him as nothing but a prodigy who wasen't worth getting involved in, especially his own father who most likely saw him as nothing but a tool to improve the Uchiha name. He undoubtly began to feel like a machine for Konoha, only valued for his skill. I encourage people to go back and watch episodes 129-131. I guess it kinda affects me more because I have a little brother of my own who really, really looks up to me. To me, Itachi is far more scarier and deadlier then Orochimaru.

Early days for me to be judging Sai fully, but though I like his personality, his silly little top irritates the heck out of me. I can't stop looking at it (and I don't mean that in a good way). It's distracting because it's so lame.

Haven't read the translated version yet, but I loved the scene in his home. That was quite a personal glimpse into a character's home life - something we rarely see Kishimoto doing for any of his characters except perhaps, Naruto (and yes, I miss those early episodes/chapters where we got to see Naruto mooching about at home, having his breakfast, drinking from the carton, sleeping with his funny hat on and what not).

So, that was a nice surprise and endeared me to Sai a bit more.

I like the members of the akatsuki.

Off track a bit:
today, a Japanese friend of mine, corrected my pronunciation of Akatsuki.

I always thought it was pronounced: A-CAT-SUKI

but he informs me that is is pronounced: AH - KAT- SKI

No SUKI on the end. Just SKI.

I think the SKI version sounds much nicer.

When drawn at their best (and by artists who are really good at making characters look really attractive), I would call Naruto "cute" and Sasuke "gorgeous".

Yes...I agree that doujinshi artists have a knack for making Naruto (and other characters like him) cuter. But...I think Masashi Kishimoto wanted to contrast Naruto and Sasuke's outward appearances, even though they are really alike inside. (Or I can just go with the assumption that Masashi Kishimoto modeled Naruto after how he himself was as a child. :P)

Don't blame Kishimoto; he has little, if anything, to do with the anime. He has been minding his own business, writing/drawing more manga chapters for his loyal fans.

The people to get angry with are the animators. They are responsible for the excessive amount of fillers that are plaguing the anime.

She's such an idiot. I've seen several previous posts saying Naruto can't do anything without the Kyuubi, but Sakura can't do anything at all! SAKURA DOESN'T DO A SINGLE THING. The only time she actually does anything notable is later in the series and she can only do that because Tsunade taught her. Tsunade's really annoying too. She shouldn't have been Hokage.

I agree. I don't see how Lee can be hated. I didn't care much for him when he was first introduced, but now he's one of my favorite characters in Naruto. After all, the guy has skills (and he was able to overcome his weakness of not being able to use ninjutsu by attaining his own type of power); also, he's a hopeless romantic with a good heart. He could be compared to a chivalrous knight...only he's a chivalrous shinobi. :P

(But...I don't see how some people hate Hinata either...:rolleyes: I guess people have different tastes in characters. :P)

Yamato...He's very mysterious, but he was only introduced a few chapters ago. I'm sure he will get his own backstory with time (and his own spotlight in a fight)...but he's not one of the characters I'm really interested in. I am NOT one of those "gals" who is turned on by boys who look like they are about to rip off someone's head. Like FURUBA, I prefer tamer-looking boys.

I, Personally, don't like Sasuke. he's too broody stuck-up and irritating, and he's obsessed with himself and how he "lacks power". Kabuto was cool when he was first introduced but now he's just annoying, especially since they made such a big deal about how absurdly powerful the Hokage's are and then ,y'know, Kabuto takes on Tsunade cocky as all hell.

Anyway, there aren't any characters, except for Sakura, who I dislike. I think Kishi does a good job of producing fairly well developed characters all round, even the minor one's end up getting some quality treatment at one point or another.

Sakura is not one of them. From the beginning of the title, she is little more than an after thought and Kishi's long awaited development of her via Tsunade is far too little too late, in my opinion.

Kabuto definitely knows how to play the game of trying to pull things over on people; he's the master of pretending to be someone he's not. So...He'll keep trying to linger in between being a good guy and a bad guy...even though we all know he shouldn't be trusted under any circumstances. (He really had me fooled when he first appeared at the beginning of the Chuunin arc.)

You know...Sakura's character gets much better later on in the manga. -_-; Personally, I thought she became a better character during the Chuunin arc...but she becomes a more independent and stronger ninja after the time jump. :) So...you probably won't hate her as much once you reach that point in the manga...or if you watch the next season of the Naruto anime. ^_^

(Also...I was a Sakura hater before too...especially because she was such a lovesick girl who barely did anything to help her comrades. But...gradually, I started to like her (especially during the Chuunin exam arc); she has some amazing character development over the course of 30+ volumes. :))

i like all the characters except 1!!!! watching the anime series i hated sakura from the very start. it is so annoying watching the inner sakura then at the chuunin exam sakura v ino, the inner sakura was a real part of her. i mean wtf. i only hate the way she acts but in the first movie she was alright.

I really only hate one character. That's Orochimaru.

He freaks me out. He looks (and acts) like Micheal Jackson. "I want his beautiful body. Probably for many dark reasons." Geez. He has a wierd limb regeneration thing(from recent manga chapters), Snakes are his favorite creatures and I never liked snakes, and lastly, cause of his voice in the anime. So hoarse it sounds like he was a life long smoker with emphysema or something. <_<
