What is your favorite scene in Rahxephon?

Mine is when Ayato's friend from Tokyo (forgot her name) turns out to be a dolem. that entire episode was so disturbing and sad, it was really human, and it's something that rarely moves me, but this struck a note on me. It was so beautiful.

^ I agree.
It was one of the saddest scenes i've ever seen.
I must say my eyes got really watery while watching this episode.

Oh that was a beautiful episode, so rich in emotions and eloquently told. I loved how her final goodbye was scrawled across the city.

Another emotion packed scene was the farewell between Ayato and Haruka just before the final battle, if only because much of the show was geared towards this moment when everything becomes crystal clear. There wasn't that much dialogue in this one, but you could feel the weight of their emotions. For me, that scene worked. :)

Yeah the Asahina episode was crazy.

That was indeed a powerful scene. The irony in him trying to protect Asahina was so sad. As for my favorite scenes...

1) The scene when Haruka gave Ayato the gloves and he later returned them and thanked her.

2) The scene where Ayato was in one of the Dolem's "Fields" and was confronting his hidden passion for Haruka.

3) The scene when Haruka flies between Quon-RahXephon and Ayato-RahXephon. She smiles and waves just before she gets obliterated.

There are a ton of smaller detailed scenes scattered throughout the series that I felt were touching/powerful.

I thought that Asahina should have been able to control the golem better, but it seem as if she was being controlled. how sad.

also that she became delusioned as to the colour of her blood. It was obviously blue but she became to believe that it was red out of desperation.
Avery sad show.

In order:

-The Asahina episode

-That scene with Ayato and the TV in the final episode

-That fight between Kunugi and Kuki (the man with the huge dolem near the end of the seires) and how it ended.

-When he rejects the heart of Xephon (who he thought was Reika) and tears the painting.

-How Ayato basically kills most of his friends in the last episodes.

Yes this was definitely one of the more depressing episodes, it really made me feel bad for Ayoto. :'( I know that he's not real and all, but you just could'nt help but put yourself in that situation. I don't know what I would've done, I guess I would have went crazy like he did.

Are you guys serious? There was nothing sad about that show, especially that scene.

I'm not going to care about a character that dies a few episodes after she gets good screen time. On top of that she tried to play her boyfriend. She got what she deserved.

i like the part where Ayato acts very cold with haruka episode 5 and when Ayato discovers that he is a mulian/in the car when he says "You My Dear..."

Poor girl. And the look on our boy's face when he realised what he did.

NO~!

YES! YES! YES!

Nice opinion, Mr. Heartless. -_-;

And your thread has nothing to do with this topic other than being about the same show.

This is also my favorite scene/episode aswell. I didnt find it disturbing, but I found it to be extremly sad and depressing. Beutifully done episode, just wish it wasnt so sad.

Also another favorite scene is the scene when Megumi and Ayato are at the store when its raining. I found this episode to be touching, and it also cleared up some of the gloom surrounding Ayato.

I think Megumi should have attempted suicide or something, her character was kind of "just there." Which was odd since her hair color was different from almost everyone else's.

My favorite scene was the ending; it was just beautiful.

A second one would have to be Asahina's death. It was so incredibly sad; very powerful and well done.

I haven't seen the whole series yet, but who is Ayato really with? The chick with the short or long hair?

I have only watched like one and half of the second episode, assuming he was going to be with the girl w/ long hair. This was like a few months ago (actually last year.) So...WHO IS HE going to be coupled with? Personally, I really dislike the girl w/ short hair (Haruka?). Man...I can't even remember thier names. If he's with that Haruka, then I'm not going to continue this series. Depressing, IMO.

And for the hardcore RahXephon fans out there, this post is based on my opinion.

Since you asked in a spoiler thread, I'll say it without spoiler tags:

There is also some interest from a girl that is younger than him (which you haven't seen yet), but he ends up with a girl at his own age.

Did you get as far as this?

In episode 3 he hangs around with Haruka for half the episode, but he meets a lot of new characters in the episodes after that and has no more "dates" with Haruka; so if you can get past episode 3 you'll be doing fine.

Favorite scene?...easy...the scene where Ayato is holding that dying girl in his arms, he's crying...makes his way to his Rahxepon and shouts...

"RRRRAAAHHHHXXXEEEPPPPHHOOONNNNNN!!!!!!"

gave me goosebumps :D :D

Alright, I just finished the series yesterday, watched all of it within two days so I'm still going through withdrawls. Hmm... I agree with most everyone that the Episode with Asahina was awesome, but I think it was rather pointless at the same time. I think that whoever thought it up was an evil and cruel person. What the f**k? Why re-introduce a character inorder to kill her off? The best character in the damn series! Man, I wasn't even sad, I was furious!

Asahina's scene (you know which one I mean!) was ever so moving...that is just a classic beautiful anime scene for me, right up there with some of the Spike/Julia moments of Bebop. Just...wow. It makes me so sad everytime I watch it. Irony is such a b*tch T___T

My fave Xephon scene still has to be the final scene in the movie though, where Haruka finally goes off to join Ayato. Its just so titanic-ish <3

ahh, I love this show. one of the most beautiful of all time, ne? ^______^

This probably has next to no chance of being answered probably but you're not suppose to feel for Asahina in this scene, you're suppose to feel for Ayato. Similar to Cowboy Bebop with Julia and Spike, no one lists this scene as sad because they "felt" for Julia, it was for Spike

Yes, that's exactly why I was so angry. Ayato gets one moment of serenity and then it's taken away from him immediately, wtf? Talk about mental anguish, its a wonder the kid doesn't go completely bonkers.

Yeah seeing him slumped in the room covered in blue blood with the diary open and than just being dragged out while he appeared lifeless was what made that scene.
