The crappiest cover art I've seen has got to be Gits 2: Innocence. Who ever did it, or who ever okayed it should be shot.
I see Gerudo Grunt agrees. I really wonder why in holy **** they did not just use the theatrical poster art. The GitS 2 animanga used it for chrissakes.

Those are terrible. Others that look awful would be the R1 Shadowstar Narutaru covers and the R2 Zoids Fuzors covers. Also, they're not completely terrible but I don't care much for the R1 Fafner covers.

Narutaru immediately comes to mind. The R1 coverart is pretty bad. Not as bad as Trouble Chocolate though.

I'm not a really big fan of the cover art used for the Fushigi Yuugi boxsets. A golden foil of Suzaku on the first boxset, and one of a dragon on the second boxset. I would've liked to actually see more pictures in these, but they all turned out so bland. These boxsets implied to look so much like a book, but once you open them, it had so many beautiful pictures inside. The same could be said of the how the story of FY was in general. Miaka opening a mysterious unattractive old book, but after experiencing the story, it changed her life forever. I could say that about the boxsets too. ^_^
