TOS: Favorite Battle Character

Who do you like to battle as in Tales of Symphonia?

I fight as either Lloyd or Genis.

I almoast always use Lloyd. I think he's the easiest to control. Or maybe I'm most accousomed to him because for the longest time I didn't know you could switch characters :doh:...

Genis was a magic user whose fighting abilities were impractical, Colette was damn hard to use, Kratoss sudden departure was annoying, Sheena and Raine weren't real fighters either, so that leaves Lloyd as your primary fighter. Of course you could always switch him out later but given that you'd be using him from the beginning, he's that much more compatible with his Devil Arms weapon and that makes him that much stronger.

Everyone is probably the most skilled with Lloyd but I have become adept with controlling Presea and Zelos.

Presea is a good break from being Lloyd all the time and playing as Zelos is exciting because of the constant switch between melee combat and magic.

Lloyd is probably my favorite, but I have to say that I had a lot of fun using Regal. That guy is like the combo master of ToS. When I was at the height of my ToS obsession, I could pull off some amazing 100+ hit combos with Regal, Lloyd, Zelos and Genis.

Now if I'm in the mood for a challenge, I use Sheena or Zelos. Sheena is overall my favorite character from the game, but I could never use her very well in combat. As for Zelos, it was a little tough for me to juggle magic and combat skills effectively.

I would like to use Kratos more because he's strong and awesome but he's just too slow in my opinion. That's why I like Lloyd because he's faster.

Mainly Lloyd, but I became pretty good with Sheena too. I also got used to her speed.^_^ She's faster than Lloyd and I spent more time running towards the enemy and then just jumping over them and attacking from the back, rather than just charging straight in the front. Her attacks are fast and her combos are pretty good. It's also just fun playing with Sheena.:D

I tried to get the hang of Regal, but only found an okay set of combo moves. He was a bit slow and most of time I would either be too early with my button combinations or too late.

Kratos and Zelos were the same in terms of abilities, but Zelos was one of the easier ones to control during the Coliseum battles.

It was just boring controlling Genis or Raine. It also wasn't very fun using Colette. Presea really packed a punch though.

Kratos and Zelos were my favourite battle characters (although I preferred Kratos a little more), mainly because I found that I was particularily good at them, that their techniques fit the kind of battle style I like. But Sheena came in second place; when I wasn't using Kratos or Zelos, I was using her. She is just so fast, and after I got the hang of her attacks, I found her a lot of fun to battle as.

Unfortunately, I never really got the chance to battle as Lloyd. I was playing the game with someone else (to whom the game belonged), and I was always the second player; my battle partner got first dibs on characters, and was always Lloyd. -_-;

I used Lloyd mostly, but I can hold my own using Sheena. Mostly because of the duel where I had to use her. So on my second playthrough, I started using her more than Lloyd, so maybe I could have a chance in the Duel.

Lloyd is natural best choice for me, I like fighters that are mainly fast and strong.

Kratos/Zelos is good choice, like having the Jack of All Trade either fight on the back or frontline. But his skill is too much like Lloyd and Genis, worse it second rate compare the two.

The only are person I would choose is Persa, almost as fast as Lloyd, but stronger than he is.

I would like to fight as Sheena, but Summoning skills only work in overlimit and she has a bunch of other skills, but you don't get to use all of it at once in combat.

I rarely used her summons. She mainly used them on random fights on the map while I was using Lloyd.:P If you put in the right level of seals, you can get a pretty good number of combos in. I think I would use Power Seal and some other seal, and then finish off with the Demon Seal... I think that's the highest level version of the one that blew them away.

I agree. I'm trying to learn to play with Presea, and Regal. I got bored with using Lloyd, but if I get frustrated with the other two I will use him.

Genis is good for those late nights when you're just flying through the game for the second time. All you have to do is initiate your spell and keep hitting "A" (if you have that ex-skill). Good for lazy people. It also allows you to keep better track of your allies' hit points.

Genis or Kratos. Kratos because I like his versitality (ie. He can heal, cast 2nd level spells and do some major *** kicking in close quarters). And Genis because of his kickass magic. POWER TO THE SPELLS!

Lloyd was my favorite, but Sheena was a close second.

i had her skills set up such that i would basically never get hit in a 1 on 1 fight... i forget the exskill, but in increases staggering from hits. basically you could just combo + power seal pinion every time and the enemy could never recover because it was too fast ^_^

and Lloyd's skills... didn't really matter, Devils Arms killed everything too quick for it to make a difference.
