In order for it to be hentai, it has to be filled with graphic sexual content. You get to see plenty of boobs in Elfen Lied, but that doesn't make it pornographic. Boobs are R-rated material.

I said Elfen Lied sucked for a lot of reasons, but nudity wasn't one of them. Nudity only became the topic of my discussion when people tried defending the show by saying the nudity was not fanservice...

Because having underaged girls walking around naked furthers the plot.

Don't bias anyone about a show they haven't seen. If you want to elaborate on a certain title, do so in a neutral manner. No "goods" or "bads". The "goods" and "bads" are to be chosen by the person, not dictated by your opinion.

I agree with Irons, for the most part. While I love Elfen Lied (it's easily one of my favorites), I think that a lot of the nudity is absolutely pointless. Lucy could've been wearing a hospital gown while in the research facility, but that's not what I'm talking about. Episode 4, among others, had some pointless, "humorous" nudity. Later on, when Nana is facing Mariko, all of her clothes get ripped off right at the start of the fight. To say that none of the nudity in Elfen Lied is fanservice is an absolutely ridiculous claim.

<_< to call elfinlied Hentai is literaly like saying passions of the christ was a porn cause they stripped jesus when they beat him. It's all about context. I'm not saying there wasn't a decent amount of nudity in the show and more in the book but most of it was not in a sexual context. The bulk of it was even medaphorical. Their excape or in some cases release from the facility completely naked represented their birth or rebirth into the world of man.

There are a lot of stories like this but that is never the point of the artists expression. they were simply trying to be dramatic. Not to say there isn't someone out there who may have the hots for that kinda stuff so read on/watch more and btw :P don't take things so serious people.
