Could someone please help me on this. My girlfriend loves anime and her birthday is coming up. My best bet on a good gift is anime, but i don't know that much about it. I was thinking of getting her a season to a good anime show or a good jrock cd or an anime soundtrack or maybe an anime movie. All I know now is that her favorite shows are Trigun, Wolf's Rain, Full Metal Alchemist, and Hellsing, but she already has those on dvd. Her favorite jrock band is L'arc en Ciel, but she already has their cd's. Could someone tell me a good anime dvd or jrock cd that you think she would like based on what she already has? If she likes it enough I will thank you all eternally.

Hmm...I'm gonna recommend Chrono Crusade. Just like the others you mentioned she has, it's a fun series that also has a dark side to it. If not that there is also the L'arc en Ciel Live in U.S.A. DVD coming out on May 31st if that's not too late.

Not your normal girl huh?:P I was gonna reccomend Fruits Basket. http://www.animecritic.com/_metareview/viewtitle.php?aid=383

But I don't know if its her kind of show, then again its not really my kind of show but I still liked it.

Try out Rurouni Kenshin. It's an awesome series, PLUS L'Arc~en~Ciel does one of the ED themes during the Kyoto-arc. ('The fourth avenue café')

You all kickass. I think I'll go with Chrono Crusade since it was the first mentioned. The L'arc en Ciel cd comes out after her birthday, otherwise I'd get that too.

Try Noir. The complete collection is out, or is coming out soon. Very few people don't like the show by Bee Train.

I didn't want to leave this thread hanging. I couldn't find Chrono Crusade so i got Generator Gawl the whole first season. It just arrived in the mail. It looks cool. Her birthday is not for a few more days.

Generator Gawl is cool, but there are many anime(like Noir) that I'd reccomend over it.

I can't believe this still exists
I searched for my username on google just to see what would show up
I was amazed that this showed up since the last time I was here was like 3 years ago, but I felt I had to post anyway
I watch tons of anime now so I know a lot more, like the fact that Generator Gawl is really bad IMO and that it just generally a bad decision to get it, many other of the suggestions would have been tons better, but it doesn't matter since we broke up two years ago, its just kinda nostalgic to be here right now
If I were ever to give anime as a gift again, I think I would choose Last Exile is the best thing to give after all of the animes I've seen
but anyway, thanks everyone who helped me 3 years ago if you read this XD

Whoops I didn't realize this is a dead thread already....my bad. Well I still stand by these two suggestions for people who like Hellsing and Trigun, or Wolf's Rain.

Well....if your girlfriend likes Trigun and Hellsing maybe she will like the show that fuses elements from both shows aka Trinity Blood. Even the title suggests union of the two. The whole series is not out yet on DVD but a couple of volumes are out.

What aspects of Wolf's Rain does your girlfriend enjoy? If its the mysticism elements, beautiful visuals, and music then I highly suggest an excellent series called Arjuna. Bandai has released two types of bricks for it so it might be a lot more affordable then just a couple of volumes of Trinity Blood.
