I'm picky about my anime but I tend to watch through it. There was one a long time ago that I should have just shut off and didn't because I thought it'd get better, don't remember the name though.
I've shut off Exel Saga before, shut off DBZ once or twice, and I tend to shut off a lot of the mechas because that's not a genre I like. I also shut off Vampire Hunter D once.
There are also animes I'll shut off that I like the manga but not the anime. I've come really close to doing that with Yu-Gi-Oh! because the manga is darker... but I wanna see the uncut subs for that because the Japanese version is darker too.
But yeah, I tend to be picky anymore.

Well all y'all remember this...not ALL anime series are here to entertain you with immense scenes of action and sex and violence...some of them actually make you use your...wait ready for this....BRAIN...thats right kids, most of us have them. I'm a psych major so i'm BIG into animes that really make you think...and to the ones that just have a ton of action and a good plot that doesn't really make you think at all...puck them ;)

^ psych as in psychology? And I dunno, those are types are great but when you just wanna sit back and watch something without really thinking about it the others can be great too.

As I said before in this thread over a year ago, Beyblade is the Gundam Wing of children's anime; all it's good for is jailbait bishies and blatant advertising.

I could never sit through even five minutes of Princess Tutu (don't ask me why I was watching it to begin with). Other shows I can't watch without dying on the inside and/or puking out my soul through my eyelids are Legend of Moby Dick, Nightwalker, Inuyasha, G-Gundam, and Gravitation (thats a given since i am after all a straight male). I could never sit through GitS:SAC, Escaflowne, A Place Promised in our Early Days, and Nausicaa because I always fall asleep but I still respect these anime greatly and hopefully one fine caffiene induced day will allow me to enjoy them.
AHH!! Traitor!!! *faints*
PS: Nightwalker gets better later on. You missed one of the best final episodes ever in anime.

Gundam F91
When I heard the "Imperial March"(y'know, from the star wars trilogy) I ejected the DVD from my PS2, closed the case and watched the final DVD to Zeta Gundam for the millionth time. I thought it was just a joke or a rumor that the F91 'borrowed' music from star wars so when I actually heard it I didn't know what to do. I didn't know whether to break the disk or watch it later, so I compromised by setting it down in its case gently and then re-watched Zeta Gundam.
I've since seen the entire movie, but jesus it still irritates me on how many corners they cut on it.
EDIT: This movie counts right? It's still Anime... movie, but still.

The "Imperial March" music diddn't last that long really, when the theme plays in Star Wars its much more long. Anyway, it doesn't sound as much as the "Imperial March" as I thought it would when I heard people talk about it.
Read my review here: http://www.animelessons.net/mobilesuitgundamf91.htm
I gave it a 7 out of 10(before the rating system changed....).
"The problem with this movie is this movie is SUPER fast. It being a planned long running TV series turned into a movie hurt it. It’s filled with time gaps. But its full of intense action, a great deal of interesting drama & character interaction. An epic war story that I wished was longer but it was cut short. It’s a shame but I still very much enjoyed this movie in what it did with so little time."

Inuyasha (I gave up on the second to last season, after it starting becoming PHYSICALLY PAINFUL to continue, although I hadn't really been following the episodes past season two. I just sort of watched it every time I saw it on AS, and since they've replayed it a million times, I bet I've seen a majority of the episodes.).
Reign: The Conqueror (I gave up on the first episode).
He is My Master (This series wasn't necessarily "horrible," but it was pretty boring and I stopped halfway through).

What anime sucked so bad u couldnt even watch any more. i find this happen not that often but when it does im mad. So far its happend with the soultaker and flcl. so i dunno does anyone else have others???
Keep in mind, this is my opinion not yours. I know I'm probably going to take some heat for this but the anime that I couldn't stand are:
Dragon Ball
One Piece
Bobo-a-bobo (sp)
Wolf's Rain
Yakitate! (He's got solar hands!!! WTF?? Not the best personality trait... being able to get yeast excited like that...)
SO far those are the few I've not been able to stomach my way through...

Is that based on the dub edited versions? There is a difference;) (More so with One Piece of course)

Warning: (Reading this reply will probably get you ticked off.)
The anime titles that I didn't finish and didn't care about are:
Great Teacher Onizuka (Storyline is too obvious)
Hunter X Hunter (Storyline is too obvious as well as boring)
GetBakers (Didn't like the plot of this title)
Crest of the Stars (Didn't make me interested in it)
My Hime (Wasn't interesting)
My Hime took a while to actually get interesting... about half the series...

Probably... the only shows Ive seen of either were on CN.
DB I think I don't like simply because the only point of it seems to be the fights...

One Piece 4Kids is horrid. 4Kids is a complete disgrace, all they do is ruin anime.
To my surprise I liked One Piece when I saw fansubs of it.

Dragon Ball isn't like that I'd say, its mostly an adventure comedy. Although I still havn't seen it all, but most. Dragon Ball Z on other hand is MUCH more focused on fighting, but its a fighting anime so what do you expect:P

Black Lagoon & FS/N are two recent ones I couldn't go through with (meaning more than 1-2 episodes); I thought the plot was paper-thin
That won't stop me from enjoying revy and funny FS/N doujins though, huh

Inuyasha and Naruto. Inuyasha just lasted way too long and the episodes did'nt go anywhere. With Naruto, naruto and sakura were just too annoying. But I do like some Naruto fanfiction.

I have never actually been unable to finish a series but I have stopped watching an episode because I just wasn't in the mood. Of course, I've never seen an anime I disliked because I've never ventured out on my own. The shows I've watched have all been reccomendations which is to say that I do research on shows to see how many people liked it before watching. I'd hate to watch a bad show.

October 7th, 2006, 08:32 AM
The animation wasn't bad at all-_-; And judging that based on 2 minutes of the first episode is as shallow as you can get.
http://www.animeondvd.com/reviews2/disc_reviews/4027.php
"The series has such a range of detail to it and moves between a couple of very distinct styles that it handles both beautifully, be it looking at the crowded shelves full of manga, toys and video games that are very detailed or the much smoother and softer lines used for the in-show Kujibiki material. Colors are well represented for each of their sections and the show overall is very easy on the eyes and just shines."
"As far as the technical aspects of the show go, it has good animation and character designs. You're not going to be blown away here by the animation of the show, but it's not something that will take away from the show in any way." - http://www.animefringe.com/magazine/2005/09/review/05.php
But anyway, the show isn't about the animation & its sad when fans shun an anime because of the animation. There are great anime with bad animation & there are horrid anime with amazing animation.

Full Metal Alchemist... I watched the first 4 or 5 episodes and had to stop. Just boring for me, I guess.
Same could be said for Naruto too, though it seemed like more of a kiddy show to me so that's probably why I stopped watching.
I realize it's unfair of me to judge anime such as FMA so early on when it's a 50+ episode anime, but if a show can't catch my attention in the first 5 episodes and keep it there then it's probably not my type to begin with.
