Any information leading to another season of Initial D?
I'm currently starting on Fourth, and have heard something about a live action movie...but is there any info on a Fifth Stage being released any time soon?

I also feel 10 episodes for Fourth Stage is way too short :(
So was Second Stage...

i wouldn't wait...

there was a big gap between the release of stage 3 and the release of stage 4... i expect sometime in 2007/2008.. assuming that tthey decide to continue with making the anime and/or manga...

Oh, and Stage 4 is 14 episdoes, not 10. there's still the 86T vs Cappu and the 86L vs FD race to finish... and Itsuki's love problems to go though....

EDIT: The live action movie isn't canon as it's made by a Chinese consoritum with chinese actors. As far as i can see, they'll pull the basic storyline and characters from first stage and make a new story to appeal to the Chinese public. there's also that Dori Dori isn't working on it....

It will depend on where the fourth stage ends at. The reason why there is such a huge gap between third stage's release date and the fourth is because the anime caught up with the manga, and the manga is very slow(one anime ep of Initial D covers about 4 chapters of the manga). Until enough manga chapters gets serialized to have enough content for another season, there won't be a fifth stage.

If you guys didn't already know, the 4th Stage is 24 episodes long, so if you haven't watched them, go get 'em!

As far as I can tell they need to tie up some loose ends in the story. I know this thread hasnt been used since 2006 but as of October 2008 there still is no mention of Initial D: Fifth Stage.

Some of the things left unfinished:

Mako is still in love with Iketani and they haven't resolved it.

Ryosuke still hasn't disclosed to the Project D members what the D stands for.

Keisuke still hasn't had his rematch against Takumi.

What happens between Takumi and Mogi? Mogi goes to Tokyo after declaring her love to Takumi, Later he thinks about Mogi while Driving.. Yet there's no follow up.

These are just a few of the loose threads a Fifth Stage could clear up. I love this series and own every part of it so far. I would love to see a Fifth Stage.

There is an Extra stage that was aired on Sky PPV on the 3rd. On the ANN page, it looks like it's Mako and Iketani on the image, but I don't know any other information. The DVD release for Extra Stage 2 is in December.

I did a lil checking up and the Extra Stage 2 will be released to DVD around December 5th 2008.

As to what its about... Yep its part two of the Mako/ Iketani Saga. maybe a Fifth Stage isnt too far off

if there is a fifth stage, i hope there's less of the Takumi Factor. Really, there's no reason for that hachiroku to win anymore. Not when the real one (Hot Version's Touge Monster AE86, driven by Tsuchiya) lost, repeatedly, to a 2ZZ-GE powered MR2 from Techno Pro Sports

If they do a 5th stage, I imagine Takumi will be racing with the Impreza

I am 100% sure he isnt going to use the subaru wrx sti type r version v because you gots to remember that is his fathers car,and he is only alowed to use it during the delivery's and i'm sure he is till gonna race with the AE86 because i noticed on one of M.O.V.E music video's he was racing a red FD, and i dont remember him racing any red FD....so yeah lol xD

your pretty much retarted the difference between the drift kings 86 and the takumis is a whole nother realm. the drift kings 86' is a mild tuned 170whp at best oldschool 4age. on the other hands takumis GROUP B 240 WHP 20v 86 is completely on another level u cant tell in the revs ? 11k vs. 8.5k besides mid engine platforms are incredible handling machines specially with that torquey celica motor.

Wow, year plus thread necro. Only thing I can find to the contrary is a post on answers.com that says it comes out on march 5th, but it would have been advertised like crazy by now if that were true. It has not been listed as part of anyones winter or spring lineups, so it looks doubtful. I would think if it was coming out this year even, there would have been word of it leeked. So, would say at this point, 2012 at the earliest, but it has been almost 5 years since the finish of 4th stage, so I think we are done with Initial D anime unfortunately.

I wouldn't be so sure.

I mean, Last Exile came out in 2003. Only now in 2011 is the 2nd season coming out.
