What do you think? People in japan keep telling me I have to cut my hair but thats just them. What do you guys (and especially any girls) think?

I only get crap about my hair from my guy friends, but that's all in good fun.

Depends on the shape of the face. Some guys can pull off both, long and short, others either/or.

Yeh like all japanese wnat guys to have short hair. I don't want to cut it though. My hair is down to my shoulder blades and I normally tie it back. Normal pony tail mostly but during sports activities I tie it high on my head as it doesn't get in the way there.

I usually keep my hair around my eyes but I gel it back to make it look like an explosion, looks pretty kool. I am currently experimenting with longer hair, but I think the explosion hair looks the best for me. All that matters if your well suited, there is nothing actually acceptable or unacceptable to be found simply in the length. Sometimes long hair can look dramatic or powerful though.

Ive been growing my hair back for a good while now(was a skin head), its getting there.
Not that long yet, but its starting to shape up an iam likeing having hair again, despite it being simpler having a shaved head.
I used to be popular in school with long hair, but seems times have changed an short hair is way more common and preferd, i mean, in Australia, SO MANY blokes have that whole short/spikey/geled/hair spray/bleached, typea look, thats just not me.

Personally, I tend to keep my hair VERY short... cut with no guard short. In my line of work, having long hair can be bad. Women have never complained, and it's somewhat fun to have random women rub your head for good luck. ^_^

Right now, my hair is fairly short- I just started growing it out about two months ago. It is already down to eye-length, meaning it's grown about two or three inches. Being a 6'0, 200-pound guy who loves his weight bench more than he loves caffiene (a comparable struggle, that), I can pull off short or long. For the past year or so, it's been short and flipped up a little in the front. But now I'm just going to go until it is just above my shoulders so I can pull it back comfortably.

I don't have a problem with long hair, of course- a friend that goes to college nearby has hair just past his shoulders, and it looks great. My brother has long hair, and my dad has semi-long hair. My whole family has long hair except me, haha.

So they just stylized and gave me a sicissor cut. Now it's just my hair's just a little wavy, really hate that. Guys hair is supposed to be rough, tattered, and filthy- not wavy :P

I grow my hair out near the end of summer and then usually keep it until sometime during spring. Then I cut it and don't cut it for another year or so.:D When it's long though, I do have to remember to shave. Otherwise the facial hair growth seems to clash with my appearance... to me anyway. Especially when wearing glasses.

I don't tie my hair back at all. I just prefer the wild and free-flowing look of my hair unleashed. You've got to also make sure that you can pull off the right style of dress too. You just won't look right if you can't... hehe, but I guess that goes for anyone regardless of the length of their hair.:D

And yeah, it's your choice whether you want to cut it or not. It just depends upon the statement you're trying to make or... the type of people you'd like to attract... or repulse, I suppose.

I've never been able to grow my hair long. I just have naturally think hair that bunches up and only grows a certain length. I've since been thininng it and keeping it incredibly short, which I like better and some of my girlfriends do, too.

As far as long hair goes, I know/have known a lot of guys that look good in it. It's just a personal style thing that some guys are better suited to. I happen to like keeping my hair short and managable; makes for little changes in the workforce, too.

I'm lucky because my hair is nice and dark and straight, but on some people, long hair is not the way to go. I think that guys with long hair, if they take care of it, are very attractive. If you care about your hair, and keep it clean, you should be able to wear your hair however you like. Japanese men are very nice looking with long hair. Japanese hair, in general, is nice and thick, and very beautiful. I wish more men would grow their hair out.

Long hair down before the shoulders are still okay... Anything longer than that is yeesh!... Especially if they tie it up like a girl... Funny thing is I find it better looking if the long hair (down longer than shoulderheight) is dreadlocked than the simple long hair (wavy or straight)...

Well, anything that involves big, fluffy hair ties/scrunchies:) Seriously though, girl-used products (like hair sticks and hair ties) should be on the no-no list of all men with long hair. Ponytails, in general, are well, associated with female use, so men should exercise extreme caution when sporting this style. You could probably tie it close to your neck with a suede cord, rubberband, or something to that effect, but anything higher than neck level is kinda girly. Anyways, why would you want to tie it up? leave it down! It's better looking that way anyway:P

I'm a guy and I used to have very long hair, usually an inch or two past my shoulder, but at some points in my life it was nearly to the middle of my back. I had had long hair for about 10 years and I cut it shorter a few months ago. Personally, I'm enjoying the change of short hair. As other people have said, it's easier to take care of, cooler in warm climates and I actually look my age now (24) instead of looking a lot younger. But in reality, it all comes down to what you want. It's a cliched life lesson, but it holds true every time; stay true to yourself and never let other people influence your decisions. If you want to cut your hair shorter then do it, but if you want to keep it long, keep it long and to hell with anyone that knocks it.

My son who is 11 has a fantastic hair and I´m so proud of him!
He has grown his hair since he was seven and now it reaches all the way down to his butt! It is so beautiful and girly! Since I always wanted a daughter, he´s so close you can get!
The other day, I washed and brushed his angelic curls for a long time - he really enjoys it! In school, he´s popular and was only teased in the beginning, but didn´t care! Especially the girls love his hair!

Lazyness. Nothing is more satisfying, then getting a hair cut, and it takes like 3 seconds to put shampoo in it, and like 10 seconds to dry it, and the same goes for styling. I have my hair now as long as I have ever had it (about 6 inches.....), just because I only trust ONE person with my hair. (I'm kinda wierd about my hair...) I love my hair how it is, except for when I go to wash the ****. My beard has gotten pretty BA as well.

I adore guys with long hair. I hate how so many guys these days cut it very short or just shave most of it off. I don't get why they do that. It annoys me a lot....I just don't see it attractive at all. I love guys with shoulder length (or lower)hair.
All guys actually care is having hair on the head.

I think long hair past the shoulders is way to much for a guy. They can't style it in any way, unless they want to look like a girl.

Do I like guys with long hair? Well if the guy is my boyfriend then I'd prefer his hair to be short and taken care of. If it is a guy friend of mine then I don't think I would mind as much.

I used it have it sort of long, but my barber kept recommending I try to see what it looks like short. Now I cut my hair short and I actually think I look the best I can.

A lot of people here are describing it as conformist and commonplace...I prefer to use the word "conservative".

Oddly, the whole "edgy and unique" thing doesn't apply to girls. I, almost unconditionally, prefer girls with long hair to short hair.

I am a guy with Long Jet black hair.
I blow dry it every morning or else it feels terrible.
And I love it soft silky I can run my fingers though it.
But the only issue with guys and long hair would have to be the fools that dont clean it properly or take care of it in general.
Coming in with those big greasy messes on their heads..Ugh.
I also have 7 shampoos and Conditioners in my shower to keep my hair guessing.

Although I like the way it looks on me, and I really don't care what people think, I probably will cut it at some point. It requires a lot more care than shorter hair, and eventually I will get tired of that. In any case, since I'm not as young as I once was, I need to cut it before male-pattern baldness sets in. I don't want to be a guy who isgoing bald, but who still insists on growing his remaining hair long.

For now, though, my hair is long, and I've not had it cut in over two years. To anyone who thinks it looks stupid on a guy, I just have to ask: Why ya gotta be hatin'?

I like having long hair, for me it's easier to groom and short hair gives me scalp issues.
A lot of people can't believe that my hair is as black as it is and I've been told I look good with long hair so there. I realize it may not look "professional" but then again my dayjob isn't known for professionalism.

I used to have hair to my shoulders and it was think and pretty decent..lots of people said they liked it...now i have a mohawk(like a real one not a ***** fohawk) and people say it looks good too.

Im pretty sure it depends on who you ask but mostly on if you have nice hair to begin with and if the hair style you got fits your face and the rest of your body.


Lots of guys grow their hair out just cus its the thing to do..and it looks like **** on them either cus their hair is thin and nasty..or relly greasey...or curly...ack..

MOST IMPORTANT is you are comfortable how you look...its funny how easy it is to spot someone who is just doing the latest "thing" but it isnt them...they end up not looking very good even if they have the "hottest" clothes

Heh, funny story about that....One of the guys that works for me, has long hair, and we cut it to about 2 inches below his shoulders, and he had the "girly flip" at the bottom of it. So people are always saying things like "Miss! Miss!, and he turns around and there is a guy with a 5 o'clock shadow, and an adam's apple.

The idea that long hair on a guy makes you look like a woman is flawed.
Its all about how you style your hair.
If you just let it grow then yeah its going to look bad most of the time but why wouldnt it?
From a womans standpoint its prefrance and same with men.
I love my long hair and the only thing that would warrent a change is if I never get hired any where. But from seeing the stores I like I am pretty sure they dont mind long hair. At least I think Urban Outfitters would be fine with that.
