Thanks to Toys R Us I got Rock Band for PS2 for $110 and a silver PStwo for $40. I'll probably be selling the PS2 to offset the price of Rock Band.

Luckily the PS2 accessories work with the PS3. I've already got the PS3 disc, so I should be good.

Bought Shadow of the Colossus a few days ago. Definitely loving it even though I'm only one hour and 3 Colossi into it. However, I don't really see why it's so highly praised as all you're doing is killing 16 giants. Yes, the battles are epic, but that's about it. Maybe I'll get it later on.

Rogue Galaxy. I'm kinda mad at it, though. I need a platinum license for all the cool stuff I want to get but apparently since I'm overleveled I haven't gotten nearly as many Challenging battles as I should have so I don't even have a gold license yet.

Alright, i've tallied up all my purchases (for myself, not for profit just yet) over the last week:

2x Ikgaruga (GC)
2x Pikmin 2 (GC)
2x Sukoden V (PS2)
2x MGS4 (1x Regular, 1x LE)
1x LoZ Twilight Princess (GC)
1x Odin Sphere (PS2)
1x XIII (PS2)
1x Dreamfall (XBX)
1x Eternal Darkness (GC)
1x Beyond Good and Evil (PS2)
1x Gungrave (PS2)
1x Gungrave Overdose (PS2)
1x Bomberman Act Zero (360)

Don't ask how much all of this costed me, I've honestly lost track (in a good way). I started two weeks ago with $150 cash and I flipped it to Blockbuster, and then from Blockbuster to Gamestop, and then back from Gamestop to Blockbuster (over and over) and ended up with all the games above and still have $30 BB credit and $310 GS credit leftover.

I only went to 7 gamestops 2x and 8 Blockbuster's 2x. All in a circumference of 15 miles, so gas cost was pretty minimal. Ppl that pay full price for games are suckers :-p.

I was able to finally get Walmart to give me the Mic version of Warhwak. Allow me to tell you of my awesome(or boring) fight against Walmart.

Well about 2 weeks ago I bought Warhawk online from Walmart, with the giftcard I received from their Blu-ray deal. On their website the picture of the game was the microphone version. It was also $60, so I believed it was the microphone version. Anyway the game arrives and well its just the game. I stupidly open it to see if Sony has moved to a voucher system. Anyway, on the 17th I send an email to Walmart about the issue, detailing how their website has the game pictured with the microphone and how the $60 version should have the mic. About 2 days ago I finally get a email response. The nice email sender Larry, tells me that Warhawk does not come with the microphone. Well this doesn't sit well with me and I decide to call Walmart. This involves an hour conversation. The lady on the other line at first tells me that I'd have to send the game to them. Well that would cost me money and well I don't really want to pay. She eventually tells me that I can go to the nearest Walmart and exchange it. She adds that the store has been notified and is holding that game. This is somewhat true.

So I go to Walmart and stand in their line for a long time. When I finally get there the customer service clerk quickly says that they don't take back opened games and throws me aside before I can tell her my story. I stand there while she takes the next customer and ask to speak to the manager. Not making any eye contact, she calls the manager. The manager then comes and quickly does the same thing the clerk does. I protest and she eventually calls electronics. The electronics clerk brings up the game. Its the microphone version but apparently she can not give it to me. She tells me that they just can't give it to me because it would be a loss for their store. I understand but I request that she call up Walmart.com, as they must have a recored of my previous call. She does but shes very ticked off about the entire thing. Apprantly its wasting her time or something. Well I'm trying to not be dick but I do have a stuttering problem when I get into arguments, so what I'm saying doesn't come across too clearly. She finally says that if I have the receipt, I can easily exchange my game for credit. I realize I don't have it and bid fore well to them. Though the manager decides to have a little laugh at my lack of paper work.

I go back to my car and look around. I find the receipt and take it back to them. I kinda feel like the guy from Death Note. Its like I've found away out of big game. Doesn't help that my friends and I play the "writing" song as a joke all the time. Anyway I get back there and find that the electronics clerk is gone. Well this sucks as now I have to deal with some new people and that lol manager. I give them the paperwork and they still refuse to exchange it. I keep my cool though as I just think there was some lack of communication. It doesn't help that the previous service clerk that "helped" me likes to laugh every time they find a reason to not give me the game. I'm not stupid but, I can never get my words out clearly and I hate it when people laugh when I'm just trying to talk in these "arguing" situations like this. This entire visit took about an hour and it ends in my defeat.

I return home and decide to call Walmart again. Its like the previous call but this time I get the girl on the other end to call the store's manager and notify him of the situation. She does and I return. I go back the service desk and they call the manager. He easily understands what happened and gives it to the same service clerk to do the exchange. The service clerk though decides to take the manager aside and talk to him in that low secretive voice. Whatever she says doesn't matter and he just tells her to do the exchange. While shes doing it, she rings up my old Warhawk game. It comes up $39.99. I get the Microphone version and leave.

Anyway, I'm not very good but I'm up for playing some more games. PSN tag is Rahxephon91.

25% off up to 2 used 360 games (Stacks with edge):

If you guys are looking to make some credit for cheaper games, Sega Superstars Tennis (360) is $12.15 at GS after coupon and edge, Blockbuster pay $25 for it, Condemned 2 & Viking (360) are $17.50 -> $32. Fatal Inertia (360) is $16.25 -> $32. If you're really lucky, Toys R Us has Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer (Wii) for $4, Blockbuster pays $30 (meaning you can get a $60 game for $8).

I know thats not what this thread was for, but i'm just trying to help some people out in these bad times as far as the economy goes. You dont have a choice in paying full price for gas, but you should have a choice when it comes to full priced video games ;-).

I admit this is an almost embarrassingly long list, but then I think it has been a good two months since I last posted... and video games is almost all I spend money on. Ever. I decided a long time ago that I prefer having good friends who own anime than owning it myself, with some rare exceptions.

It's my addiction. Buying games I might never even have the time to play. I may have even forgotten a couple, because I'm constantly browsing the local stores, ebay, other online retailers. I don't pay a lot for most of my games. I think this batch came in at an average price of £10 per game, which isn't too bad. Considering there are a few recent ones in there.

The Wii and Wii Fit are excluded from that calculation of course. They were a gift for my mom, and I only paid a quarter of the total. The family clubbed together to buy that. The only reason I list it here at all is that if I get any Wii games, my mom doesn't mind if I play her console when she's not using it. It's not the most dignified to live with your parents, but this is an unexpected bonus. Hello there, Mario Galaxy!

Halo 2 I really only bought because it was the collector's tin version for only £2.50 plus shipping. Yeah, I'm insane.

Hey, Soluzar, how is Patapon? I've been thinking about picking it up since it's only US$20, so...yeah.
I've only played maybe a half-dozen missions so far. It's a lot of fun, but it's somewhat repetitive. I don't really hold the latter point against it as a detriment to the fun factor, but it is wise to know these things going in.

It is often called a rhythm game, as though it should be compared to something like Space Channel 5. That's not entirely untrue, but it also has elements of the RTS genre, as well as of God games. It's not really entirely similar to any of those.

Basically, you have your party, you take them into combat, and they won't do anything unless you command them. You command them by beating out drum measures. It's a call-and-response system, a bit like the marching songs you'll see in military movies.

Each different drum measure represents a type of command you can give. They can attack, defend, advance... etc. There are various types of unit. Swordsmen, spearmen, archers. You can't take a very large party out with you at first, I don't know if that changes. The emphasis is on picking the right units. It's hard to afford decent troops at first, but I dare say that would change if my rhythm was good enough for the resource-gathering minigame.

Overall, I had a lot of fun the first time I played it... but then it wasn't long before the game started kicking my ***. I'm not losing the missions, exactly... I just don't like to have a unit die. I'm progressing slowly because of that, and because I've got three other games on active rotation right now. I'm pretty close to finishing one of them, so I'll get more Patapon action in right now.

One thing I will say... you will find yourself chanting Patapon songs when your mind is wandering, if you're anything like me. They are catchy, and for some reason they help me concentrate. You can ask tenshi_a, she'll tell you that I'm barely even aware that I'm mumbling the chants. ;)

It's a great game. Perhaps a little frustrating, because it is easy to go from triumph to disaster with just a few mistimed drum measures. If you're a perfectionist, and if your rhythmic skills could use a polish, you might find yourself in a spot of minor difficulty. As long as you're a fan of unique games with cute abstract art, you will have fun though, I almost guarantee it.

You probably will. That is, if you're looking for a 3D platformer with 3PS elements to it, and an some RPG-esque character growth systems. you will if the slight irritation of grinding bolts doesn't get in the way of the experience for ya. You don't need a lot of money to beat the game, but if you want the best equipment, you'll need TONS of money.

The sequels made gathering bolts a bit less tiresome, thankfully. The RPG elements also become stronger in each sequel. By that I mean that your character can gain levels, and you can upgrade your equipment. Obviously it's nothing like an RPG, but I don't really know what else to call it. It seems to be in a lot of action games these days though.

The new one on PS3 is gorgeous to look at, and fun to play, but they changed the control scheme a bit, which always throws me off at first.

Wanted to get Final Fantasy Tactics A2 for the DS, but my DS was stolen...(...By my girlfriend no less) so I did the next best thing....or perhaps the only right thing, and got Final Fantasy Tactics: The war of Lions. I also picked up Monster Hunter Freedom 2 fairly cheap and now I can see why the Japanese go gaga over this game and then decided to pick up Burnout Revenge for the 360. had it for the PS2 a while ago, but sold it and just decided to get it back, just because.

Very long indeed.
He's caught something off me, I think. For some reason, I'm storing most of my games in his house at the moment. This has two effects:

1. It makes him feel inferior, because that's the kind of (weak) man he is. Just because I happen to own more games than will fit in my house... So he feels the need to buy more games, so he can step up to my level. :P And I only buy that many games because I'm actually insane. He's just pretending to be.

2. I'm stuck with barely any games to play, so I went on a spending spree and bought a whole load of games. From Sega Mega-CD to Xbox 360. I can't be bothered to make a list. I'd be there all day. And all night. And I could be gaming, y'know?

Last one I bought is Space Giraffe. It's awesome.

Last one that arrived was Space Invaders Extreme (US). It's also awesome, but not quite as interesting gameplay as Space Giraffe.

Space Giraffe blends sound and vision far better than - for example - Rez. I think it achieves the merging of visuals / sound really well. The music is not reactive like in Rez, but it's impossible to play some of those later levels with your eyes; you have to navigate by sound as much as you do by sight.

Last one I played was Beautiful Katamari, this morning. It arrived Saturday a.m. just before I had to nip out and catch a train, so I've hardly played it... but I think I'm nearing the end of the game already! It's better than the PSP one but worse than the 1st two games. The level design is poor in comparison.

On the contrary, Your the sanest out of us all.
That's terribly worrying if it's true... :P

If it is having that effect it must be subconscious, because I'm not aware of it. I think it has more to do with the fact I finally overcame my ebay phobia this year, and I've been harvesting cheap PS1 and GameCube games as though they were going out of style. Which... I suppose they might be.

It's more your influence that I'm exploring a broader range of different titles these days. Not really games you like, as such... just games that I might have liked if I ever tried them... but didn't, because I stuck to the known, and the safe. The sad thing is that a lot of these games are actually quite well-known, but I just didn't explore that much beyond my limited horizons for a while.

2. I'm stuck with barely any games to play, so I went on a spending spree and bought a whole load of games. From Sega Mega-CD to Xbox 360. I can't be bothered to make a list. I'd be there all day. And all night. And I could be gaming, y'know?
You'll get them back... probably this week. To be honest I didn't know you were suffering from the lack. I thought you'd kept enough stuff back to keep you interested for ages.

It's probably only three or four times the size of the average person's collection. I wouldn't even know how to start counting it though. Seriously. I can count my own collection pretty easily... I think I'm somewhere between 250 and 300 games on all formats right now. I'm certain tenshi_a has that many for the PS2 alone.

I'm just about to finish Eternal Sonata though, I bet there's some big, juicy achievements at the end of that! I have also been informed that there are some achievements up for grabs in Dead Rising which (while challenging) don't take too long to get! You're the only person on my friends list who has a Gamerscore that is still in reach for me, I'm not going to let you beat me that easily

I bought around 70 games to sell at Gamestop, and will probably buy another 30 or so later, but for myself i Bought Pikmin, Paper Mario (GC), and Hot Shots Golf (PS3).

For anyone who cares, Blockbuster is doing a B1G1 Free on all games $14.99 and under. They sell plenty of rare games for cheap. I've picked up Pikmin 1&2, Zelda TP, MGS: Twin Snakes, all for under $14.99 (meaning they would be B1G1F)

*EDIT*

Bought another 40 or so games to sell to Gamestop. But for myself, i bought the following:

Mana Khemia, Killer 7, Persona 3 FES & Pre-ordered Persona 4

Shadow Hearts: Covenant.

I'd been putting it off because I generally dislike sequels, not to mention that I had heard that this one pretty much declared the "bad" ending of Shadow Hearts to be canon. Not cool. But anyway, despite it all I was actually having a lot of fun with the game. That is, until my power went out this evening while I was saving. I lost almost 30 hours of gameplay that I just really don't feel like getting back. If you ignore the game's awful attempts at humor and voice acting it's real fun, but not fun enough to replay 30 hours. At least, not now. It'll take me a few months to get over this and be able to pick it up again. *sigh* Guess I'll go beat Persona 3.

Well done! I'd say a Dreamcast is one of the best gifts a videogame fan could get. I don't go completely overboard in my love for it like some folk, but I do really like some of the games that you can get on Dreamcast. It had a good library, and some of them I'm still playing today.

Extra controllers and VMU, should you need any, can still be obtained from Play-Asia, as can a fair number of import games.

Hotel Dusk: Room 215 (DS)
Dawn of Mana (PS2)
Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Summoner: Raidou Kuzunoha vs. The Soulless Army (PS2)
Wild Arms 5 (PS2)

I have no idea how good the three PS2 games are, but considering that they were each available for exactly $29 each (which is extremely cheap where I am right now, since freight to St. Maarten jacks up prices as much as 10-20 dollars more from retail) and that Wild Arms 5 came with an artbook thingy, I think it was pretty good. I only picked up Hotel Dusk because I had the money, didn't really ever see it in stores anymore, and it was a still sealed copy. I was pretty surprised to find all these games, usually all they have in St. Maarten is a few big name titles that are worth playing at least once no matter what games you like (read: real games), and then sports/licensed movie crap.

Classy packaging on that LE by the way. I was at Fry's so it was actually 15 extra bucks versus just the ten, and the extra CD and manual pages seem totally pointless, but since I'm actually planning on playing through this, will get my money's worth.

It's all but confirmed that I'm getting it later this month; I've heard the game is pretty much a standard FPS, just with pretty graphics. It looks really cool, though. Not to mention that I was watching some vids and you can actually shoot/kill/be killed by sharks in the game. I thought that was hilarious, since sharks obviously have absolutely nothing to do with anything. :P

Portal (PC)

It dropped to $10 so I decided it's time to grab it. I've already finished the game at a friend's house, but I haven't had a chance to try the hard mode or any user created levels.

Sky Gunner (PS2)

I saw this game for $10 a couple days ago and couldn't pass it up. I remember playing the demo a long time ago and loving it. It's basically a cutesy dog fighting game with anime styled characters, and Atlus brought it to the states.

Kingpin: Life of Crime

That was such a great game haha. I loved walking around talking to people using the "Cool" and "Smack" buttons. If you keep talking to somebody using the "Smack" button, they'll eventually get pissed off and pull a gun on you, just like real life! Aside from the talking, the gameplay was quite cool as well. The only thing I hated about the game was how long it took to load everything. It might be better nowadays with better PCs, but it was painful back when the game was new.

Yes Yakuza 2 is for PS2. It is a sequel to Yakuza 1. So knowing what happen in 1 would help but this is more of just another crime story. So its not really needed.

Theres also Yakuza Kensan (or something) and Yakuza 3, both for PS3.

Flip both switches at the same time. That may sound impossible considering the limitations of the touch-screen, but it does actually work.

Also I got into room 217 and there's a pad of paper in one of the drawer... how come you can't grab your pencil from your suitcase and rub it on the paper to see what was last written on it?! Seems like the kind of thing I would do in that situation.

One feature I find missing from this game is the ability to show profiles to people to get them to tell you what they think about that particular character. Like in the Phoenix Wright series you know?

I found this freaking awesome little PS2 strategy game called DAI SENRYAKU EXCEEED VII with the subtitle "Modern Military Tactics". It's basically an SRPG like Final Fantasy Tactics or Ogre Tactics, but in a hex-grid style and with REALLY detailed stats and terrain. Plus all the units are real life military units from 8 different countries. I'm only in tutorial mode right now so I only know of USA so far.

The funny thing is, it's a US English version of the game, but it actually has kanji in the front cover lol

Also:
