$34.99 for a game which came out less than a week ago at full price? Why, I do declare, I'll take it. GreenManGaming had it for the same price a few weeks before the game even came out.

A point and click adventure trilogy called "Hector: Badge of Carnage", which is published by Telltale Games, at a reduced price on Steam.

Well, it's hard to say. I think I don't feel good recommending it because you have an extreme anti-hero to deal with, and a lot of gross, crass, vulgar humour. And not particularly in an endearing, charming way. So it could be that you find it funny, or it could be that you just find it offensive.

Ms Splosion Man Pinball Table for Pinball FX2 on XBLA.

It's very pink and a bit annoying at first.

I have owned this for about 20 mins now, including download time, and already have a high score of 37 million and managed to activate a crazy mental multiball mode where I kept adding more and more balls to the playfield - ended up with 4 of them going at once, which is frantic and maddening but in a wonderful way. Very pleased! A great spend of 240 points!

Yeah they're both $20, which I find a bit high to be honest. I'm always bargain shopping for blu rays, and $15 is about the most I'll pay unless it's something semi-special that'll only have a limited edition slip-cover for a while, like Disney releases.

Growlanser Generations (Growlanser II in particular) has some of the worst voice acting in the history of video games. It's not "so bad it's good" like Resident Evil or Devil May Cry, it's just bad, horribly horribly bad. I bought it when it first came out way back in the day cause I'm big Satoshi Urushihara fan.

Yeah, I was surprised to see it for so cheap ($11.99). I'm not sure I'll play it any time soon (I tend to go through games super slowly), but when I do I'll be sure to tell you how it is. Hopefully it'll still be there by then. That said, you can get it in Good condition on Amazon for pretty cheap.

Chantelise: A Tale of Two Sisters

Made (and translated) by the same people who did Recettear (so you should have an idea what to expect) it even seems to be set in the same universe since the treasure and health items are the same as the ones you could buy and sell in Recettear.

This one was made before Recettear and is a straight action/rpg. I've played about two hours so far and it's really very good, I think. Although the keyboard and keyboard controls (as opposed to mouse and keyboard) are kind of awkward so I finally figured out how to use a PS3 controller on my PC.

The story is about two sisters who go out on the night of a red moon (despite their parents' warning, naturally) and meet a witch who curses the older sister by turning her into a fairy. Thus they begin their quest to find the witch and break her knees until she undoes the spell.

It looks really great and even my laptop can run it. It was only about £6 on steam and there's a demo available if you're interested. I'm a little surprised I didn't hear about this until recently, since it came out in July.

It's... a top-down epic spaceship game. Like... if the later Elite games were twin-stick shooters. Except... that description's no good because if you equip your ship with different weapons it's not twin-stick anymore.

But yeah. Fly around in space, shoot enemies, evade enemies, mine things, trade things, pick up cargo, explore, be a trader, or lawful, or a pirate, or military, or extremist crazy person... collect weapons, skills, ships, robot buddy helper thingies... I've been playing for a few hours this evening and have barely scratched the surface of the story in this game.

Also, different players can all inhabit the same world and there is PvP but I didn't activate it (since I only just bought it).

Oh and it looks just.... great! It's fantastic! I love this kind of super-detailed sci-fi space artwork. :wub:

It seems to have been made by people who used to work for Rare when that company was at its peak.

And I think I read something during the week about this game being related to something on iOS but I can't remember where or how.

Anyway, I like this game. I just wanted to share that. ^_^

Being the board game nut that I am, I finally broke down and got my first Apple product... an ipad 2. I've been kind of anti-Apple for years now, because I didn't like their overpriced simplistic devices mentality, but I couldn't resist after more and more developers started pumping out top quality board game apps for the ipad.

So far I've bought the following apps:

Small World $6 - fantastic region conquering game that feels a bit like Risk, only with less luck (dice rolls aren't as prevalent), and various races that are randomized every game.

Ticket to Ride $6 - one of my favorite board games, and this ipad version is amazing. Not only does it work incredibly well, but it also let's you play with anybody in the Ticket to Ride online community, which is the most popular online board game in history. I can play against my brother who is using the PC version, cool.

Ghost Stories $6 - I actually bought the physical board game version of this game just recently, but the rulebook is really hard to follow. I was hoping the ipad version would help me learn the game, but so far I'm still really confused about how the game works. Only tried it once tho, so I'll keep going until I figure this thing out.

Puerto Rico HD $8 - a board game classic. The ipad version is a little weird, and to be honest I'm not a huge fan of the interface. If I didn't already know how to play this game, I would be incredibly lost due to this interface. Once you figure out the interface tho, it's a pretty solid version of the board game.

Ascension: Chronicles of the God Slayer $5 - this is a deck building game like Dominion or Thunderstone, only with it's own twist on the game mechanics. I played 4 or 5 rounds last night and I really like it. It's more interesting than Dominion, and the app version works amazingly well.

On my "to buy" list I have Carcassonne, Catan, Tigris & Euphrates, Bang!, and others.

After a friend told me it was half off on Monday, I figured I'd pick it up since I'm excited to play the zerg campaign in Heart of the Swarm when it releases.

On a side note, does anyone play this anymore? I bought it specifically for the single-player campaign, but I know all my friends and family who have gotten it no longer bother. Is multi-player that blasé or were they discouraged b/c of the learning curve?

There are allot of strategies, but certain units are far to effective spammed so in lower tier games expect to see this 95% of the time:

Terran: Marines, maurader, medivac SPAM!!!!!
Zerg: Muta SPAM!!!!!
Protoss: Stalker SPAM!!!!!

Got SWTOR on launch day, and I love it thus far. It's like playing KotoR but with 1/5 of the missions requiring teamwork of other players. All the main story missions can be done by yourself since they are class based (so I'm a Counsular/Sage, and only I can go into my story areas unless I'm teamed with someone). It's great.

It got mediocre ratings and for a very good reason too.

Graphics..Defently gone well out of there way for this one.
Graphics I have no probs with this. The planes look amazing.
But you know me people..a game I enjoy isn't always just about graphics.

The Dog Fight Mode is sort of a nice idea but they need to not make it the best way to kill targets.

The controls are the same for the aircraft..thats not the problem.

Try flying the Helicopter...now we got a problem! Seriosuly if you played this game and we're able to naturaly fly it like it was second nature to you ..

The story I have to say is also below AC standards. I did like a few of the characters,but you just weren't able to get drawn into em.
They tried to hard to make this game be like a spinoff of a Tom Clancy novel!

You don't have that many missions to play.

One plane alone will cost you abou $5-$7..thats for 1 plane! No maps,no add ons..

Normally I'd be more upset about this, but the fact that Saints Row 3 had around 35 hours worth of gameplay in it without the DLC makes me more forgiving. The first DLC mission pack "Genkibowl VII" came out a few days ago, so I got the season pass so I could get it and the other 2. It was pretty decent, with some fun new mission types and fun rewards including a flamethrower equipped car.

Humble Bundle, though it contained games I owned already on PC and wasn't fond of (World of Goo / Osmos), something that looked annoying and was by people whose other games I wasn't fond of (Edge) (but I thought I might like the soundtrack), and a game I wasn't interested in on any platform (Anomaly).

But, I threw $1 into the developer pot and $5 into the charity pot, and put some new icons on my android tablet.

Edge isn't so bad after all, though I don't know whether I'll ever get it to control well enough to play satisfactorily.

Soul Calibur V (PS3)

What a chore it is to buy games at Best Buy. I wasn't sure how I would get the free Dampierre DLC, so I pre-ordered the game. When I went to pick up my copy yesterday, the lady went behind the customer service desk and came out with a limited edition for 360. I said "um, i preordered the regular edition... for PS3." Then she went out in the storeroom floor and grabbed a PS3 copy off the shelf and came back. The next 10 minutes were spent with her trying to find the record of my preorder on the PC. My phone number didn't bring it up, my name didn't bring it up. Finally she found the record from my credit card, then they had to do some kind of return and re-buy so I could get my $5 back.

Oh and the Dampierre DLC came sealed in the game, so none of that stuff was even necessary, ugh. Note to self: Never reserve another game at Best Buy.

I rarely ever check the balance in my bank account since I usually have a general idea what it should look like in my head, but after paying off my rent today and all of my bills for the month, I decided to look and noticed I had a lot more funds than I originally thought I did, and since I haven't bought any game game for the year that wasn't a 3DS downloadable title, I decided I'd treat myself to a new game and this was the one I was most interested in.

I was going to wait for the PC version to become cheaper, but for some reason when I tried the demo out it wouldn't run properly on my PC (As in all I saw was a black screen... and I was too lazy to troubleshot it, so yeah...).

Also remembered Gamestop was the only place that was going to sell Xenoblade.

It's been more common in recent years. Several Wii titles and 3DS titles have it. I like it a lot because it means Nintendo is actually caring about some of the third party stuff being released.

It went on sale for $0.99 again for President's Day, so I snagged it. It's basically a side scrolling running/sliding/jumping type game, but it's really pretty cool. It looks good, and it has the same great music Mirror's Edge had.

For whatever reason I ended up getting Hyperdimension Neptunia Mk2 (PS3) yesterday and put a good 5 hours or so into it. I never played the first one, and after reading the changes in the second game, I'm kind of glad I didn't. If the games are similar, but the first game had random encounters, it would have been incredibly annoying.

Anyway the game is pretty fun so far, tho I'm having trouble figuring out the battle system. For whatever reason my characters all suck at hitting the enemies, and it seems like 60% of all my attacks "Miss". It's REALLY frustrating to have an enemy with a micro sliver of health, and it takes 2 characters a full turn to kill it because they missed 12 times when attacking. You can't really predict anything related to the battle because of this. In Disgaea games I would get so good at predicting damage output, that I could attack enemies with 6 or 7 characters, and only go over the HP of the monster by a tiny bit. Also in Neptunia Mk2, the damage the characters do seems completely random. Sometimes "Compa" does like 100 damage to an enemy, sometimes she does 9000 damage. I don't know what even changed between those 2 situations.

Anyway, the game is weird, and right now I'd probably rate it a 7 out of 10 because of some annoyances and bizarro things.

^ Really off topic but is it worth it? I've been thinking about selling my HP Touchpad in favor for an iPad (Most likely the 2) only because now it's $100 cheaper for the version I want; One of the things holding me back is the fact that I just hacked my Touchpad in order to dual boot between its old OS, WebOS, and the more recent Android ICS (Ice Cream Sandwich) - It's only in alpha 1 right bow, but its a lot better than WebOS already with a lot of room to grow. Another thing holding me back is the fact I don't really use my tablet for anything other than reading comics and browsing the net/checking email... but, and iPad is really nice. But then again I'm not sure if it's nice enough to buy.

Batman AC (PS3) love love love this game, only downside so far is the Catwoman and Nightwing wasn't part of the game, I feel like I'm missing out on a big part of the game, not to mention the Riddler trophies I can't collect because of it.

Metal Gear Solid HD collection (360) I haven't played it in HD yet, I always had difficulty setting up the 360 in HD, the ps3 is so much easier. Been a while since I've played any of these games, shame MGS4 didn't have VR missions like MGS2.

FFIV and the after years collection (psp) Great game and great story so far, Modern RPG's are moving forward in many different and innotive ways but there's a reason games like this are still being made. It looks great.
