I just started reading this manga at first it started a bit meh but when Kyo takes over the story that's when the manga really kicks off. I like anti-hero's not some good hearted person that's why I like Kyo over Kyoshoro.
really true! :) I liked the story way better then it was when Kyoshiro had taken over Kyo... Kyo is a more interesting character (even if it seems that Kyoshiro wasn't always the nice guy he pretends to be now...). Kyo may be kinda antipathic, but I like him the most of all characters (followed by Hotaru and Shinrei). ^_^

little thread revival...
I bought SDK vol. 28 and I have to say (as ever) that it's awesome...I liked the combat Kyo vs. Shihodo very much and one know her better after this. :)
also Bontenmaru shows his tender side after saving Akira and Benitora from a battle...^_^.
As I had to wait a long time for this volume, I'm happy I'll get the next one a lot faster :) I'm so curious about it...

IMO, you're going to love the ending. I certainly did, and wound up buying the entire series! I truly love the characters and storyline. And the animation wasn't that bad, either. ^_^

i still have to say Yukimura is by far the most interesting character, Kyo is well Kyo, he's silent, keeps a lot to himself, only tells people stuff he want them to here, and puts Yuna in her place.
But Yukimura, is a different animal. i'm still debating his sexuality, but that's what i like about him, he's never hiding anything he's the exact oposite of Kyo, except for the fact that he's just as skilled with a sword as Kyo. however i'm starting to doubt this also, resently Kyo's been showing me things that make Yukimura look somewhat of a navice. he's also a traitor, and makes Kyo look like the good guy despite his Silence and cold ness.

well...now in volume 28 (soon 29 for the French version) you have learned a lot of Kyo, and also of his skills...but also Yukimura shows one thing or two...
They even have a fight in front of the doors of the Mibu entrance, and it was draw, so this shows how Yukimura improved... Still, there's something about Yukimura I never liked. He's always laughing and happy, although he keeps many secrets inside... :uhh:

DUDE, THAT IS SO NOT FAIR!!!
america is only up to 20. thats what i dont like about manga companies, they dont release fast enough. probably because of the amount of people working on it. lets face it, practically everbody in japan reads manga, so they have a bigger workforce.
duh!
that and a little incident called ww2

That's what i love about yukimura, he's always happy and cheerfull, but he's a monster on the battle field. ever seence i read his charpter, (Drgon of the Blue sky.) he's become one of my favorite inpirasional characters.

Just bought vol. 30...it's AWESOME! :j I love it (As I always do), but this time you'll see some thing or another about our friend Hotaru (one of my faves in the story, I admit ^_^).

Well, for me it's my faveourite Manga so yes, it is. But this depends on what you like. The first volumes are not soooo good, but the more you read the more you want :) (I like the cahracters a lot...Kyo and Hotaru the most...but well. You have to read it to find out ;) ).
For your information, the series' got 38 volumes, so if you don't like collecting long series...(but it's worth it).

soooo...31st volume out (in French) !!!! yay, it's really getting veeeeeeeeery interesting...the red tower being so near...and some more secrects revealed, yeah. Ah, this volume is really cool. Me as a Hotaru fan was really impressed by this fight! you think OMG, he'll die, or wow, what the hell was that? when did he learn this technique? you'll find out about the meaning of the red eyes - really interesting - and other stuff...can't wait for the next volume! (this'll probably never change for SDK, I'm sure about it). Only 7 more volumes...aaaaagh, wanna have them all :P

hmm---seems to be Iīm the only one still commenting on SDK manga. Well, I bought the 32nd manga today, itīs really cool. You see Akira fighting - really interesting, and again, some secrets revealed, though I have to say I always knew (and probably others too), that Tokito is a girl, only look at her face...! I always had to force myself to say "him" when I talked about her...nah, anyway, itīs not everytime so clear...e.g. Yukimura sometimes.... I really liked this volume, but just as everytime, I wanna read more! At least now the things are being explained to some extent, and even more secrets will be revealed in the next volumes...ah, I really love this manga series

SDK is crap
You know, it would be a better world if people didn't have to attack other people's likes and dislikes in such a fashion... Kenshin is strong, yes, but, you must understand, Kenshin is a mere shadow of what Kyo is capable of... I've read some of the later Rurouni Kenshin volumes... and I respect them... but judging from what you've stated so rudely, you haven't read past volume five of Samurai Deeper Kyo. It is later in the series that it really picks up speed. And then you have to appreciate the sheer beauty of this underated masterpiece.<_<

Imasyon, you are really lucky that the series has progressed that far where you are.... I am stuck at vol. 27, waiting for 28!!! D: I must agree with you, I know and knew that Tokito was a girl, first, as you said, second, no guy would ever wear shorts that short... even Sasuke's shorts are longer. In case you didn't know, savor your volumes, as the series ends at 38..... gawd I hope Kyo doesn't end up with Yuya... I hate her....
