A couple of days ago I posted this picture on iichan trying figure out what it was a parody of:

I know it's a parody of the Touhou series (Chen, Ran Yakumo, and Yukari Yakumo) since I'm a fan of those games, but I didn't know what the other thing it was parodying. The answer I got at iichan was it is something called WAHA~! but other than that they didn't give me any other answer. So I was hoping you or any other Japanese knowing person could tell me:

Waha! is Suzuran from Suigetsu after being subjected to the 2Chan artists, and she quickly became a major meme (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Meme) there, that soon spread over to 4Chan. Naturally, since IIChan is made up of 4Chan refugees, you can expect to see her there along with Rei, the Happy Negro, and the **** Mongler.

Suigetsu is a hentai game, and the others are all memes from 4Chan.

To keep it simple, the character Suzuran was one of the characters in the F&C Studios hentai computer game Suigetsu. Her favorite phrase was "Waha!" Japanese fans picked her as a sort of mascot, quickly followed by members of the 4chan message board.

You can find an archive of the Photoshopped Suzuran images at WAHA World (http://waha.nce.buttobi.net/).

More recently, the super deformed version of Suzuran has evolved into a pure mascot character called "Waha-tan" who lives with her older sister Musu and her pet Choia, who looks like a naked, female dog-girl. The Japanese Rakuga Kidou (http://hirobebe.hp.infoseek.co.jp/) news site has linked to a few Japanese Flash animation clips of Waha-tan with Choia, but I'm too lazy to look up all the links again.

I found this googling 'waha meme', waha really is the best isn't she? I think people need to remember, because she makes resurgences in the 4chan 'the movie' (I think there are 3 or 4 now on google/youtube). Plus Nurse-kun got Amputan a Waha scrapbook.
