View Full Version : How Did Kakashi Get The Sharingan?

I have a theory. If I'm wrong, speak up.

I believe that Orochimaru gave it to Kakashi as one of his twisted experiments. Either that or he's some weird love child. ^_^;

There's no official story yet on how he got it, but we do know that he wasn't born with it. So he somehow acquired it later in life.

I think it's probably the eye of his dead friend Obito, the guy who's grave he's always visiting. I think it was probably implanted after Obito died.

Can't be, Kakashi acquired it after Orochimaru fled the village, if I remember right Orochimaru mentioned that he didn't have it before.

Hmmm... I wrote a better version SOMEWHERE... just can't remember... so...
I believe that Kakashi is not related to the Uchiha in anyway, though his "body type" is pretty close meaning he is able to use the sharingan to begin with. He did not have the sharingan as a child (you see a picture of him). I don't think the scar is from the surgery. Perhaps his original eye was slashed up and rendered useless. Perhaps his mysterious friend (Obito or something?) was from the Uchiha and had the sharingan. Perhaps Kakashi wanted those eyes because they are oh-so great. And here's where I have two thoughts. Perhaps his friend was dying and gave him the eye as a "gift" OR his friend was dying and he stole it! x.x (Which might explain Oro bringing it up). I don't think surgery would leave a scar quite so prominent.

Edit: Found it. X3
Hatake Kakashi possesses the Sharingan bloodlimit eye and is a mystery to everyone but the Naruto team. We can only guess with our limited clues as to where this eye came from. My own theory is that Kakashi obtained the eye from his dead friend (either the one on the gravestone or the other male in his team) to replace an already injured left eye. We have been told that Kakashi is not part of the Uchiha clan flat out. His friend from the past has been mentioned and we see pictures from his childhood. My guess is that Kakashi wanted this powerful eye for himself as Orochimaru mentions to him (something about how Kakashi got want HE wanted already...). Either he took the eye from his friend while he was dying or dead (I REALLY doubt he killed his own friend) or his friend gave it to him as a gift. The scar isn't something that would happen from surgery with all the medical ninjas that can activate cells and do crazy things so that's why I believe it was slashed before hand damaging the original left eye. Kakashi is able to use the Sharingan because he shares a similar body type. He cannot use the Sharingan to its full capacity and is unable to even turn it off and on, hence his trademark headband angle.

Look its very simple.
Kakashi is of the Hatake clan. He has no Uchiha blood, otherwise he would have two sharingan eyes and have the ability to turn the ability on and off.

Anyway, the its probable that his close friend (an Uchiha) died in combat (possibly while fighting together against Orochimaru). Kakashi took one of the Sharigan eyes from his dead comrade's body and implanted into himself.

He only took only one eye because he can't shut the Sharingan off. He keeps his Sharingan eye covered most of the time, so it doesn't sap his chakra. He uses his normal eye for regular seeing.

Hmmm... I wrote a better version SOMEWHERE... just can't remember... so...

that's pretty funny venom
It's not necessary to take the eye from someone dead. Possibly it was donated by an Uchiha when Kakashi was maimed. A one eyed ninja isn't hardly useful and one of the Uchiha could have given theirs through mercy on the lad.
unless of course he obtained the eye from Itachi's slaughter. it's possible that someone in the village feared the complete loss of the sharingan and implanted the eye from one of the dead to preserve it; Kakashi just happened to need a spare. Sasuke mentions to Sakura and Naruto that only some of the Uchiha ever come to posess the sharingan even if they're born in the clan. since Sasuke doesn't come into his sharingan until the fight with Haku, nobody could be certain he would.

Well, that scar was definitly not surgical.

Think. It's a long, slashing wound. Like you might get from a knife. It's messy. It slashes right across his face.

Surgical scars are precise. Especially on the face. A scar from eye surgery would be a small cut by the side of the eye, not a slash across the whole face.

Maybe the man known as Hakate Kakashi… Is a member of the Uchiha clan who has been hiding all these years, pretending to be some normal jounin who just happens to have a sharingan! The third person who could possess the Mankyo Sharingan would be the Uchiha disguised as Kakashi. Orochimaru was successfully tricked into believing not only that Kakashi didn't originally have the sharingan, but that he didn't know how to use sealing jutsu (When he could've copied them at the age of 5. How else could he advance so quickly?). Itachi somehow learned of this, so he tried to train up to that level. However, the best he has managed so far is to trap someone in a world totally under his control for a mere three days, which lasts three soconds in the real world. Whereas the Uchiha disguised as Kakashi… has successfully trapped everyone in his world for life!! Kakashi is god!!! Everytime he appears to be beaten by someone is a lie!!!! Kakashi reigns supreme!!!!!

I bet that I'm right… Especially if, after taking the red pill, Naruto vanishes only to come back wearing a leather trenchcoat with the ability to slow time and beat anyone…

If you haven't yet figured it out, I'm kidding. Also, the underlined stuff replaced something wrong. I believe it's right…

i believe that kakashi gets his sharingan eye from his teammate uchiha obito. i believe that when obito dies kakashi replaces his cut eye with obito's

Brill
December 13th, 2004, 07:26 AM
Well all this relies on when Obito died. Do we know when in the timeline this took place?

Keiichi-chan
December 14th, 2004, 02:54 PM
It's possible that the boy we see that's Obito is actually the jounin we think is Kakshi(someone touched on this already). Maybe the real Kakashi died protecting Obito, during which Obito's eye was slashed, and he had to replace one with a normal eye or a jutsu was put on him to screw around w/his sharingan abilities(one won't activate all and the other is stuck activated all the time). Then to pay back his friend and not let the Hatake name die with Kakashi's dishonored father, Obito became the one we know now as Kakashi Hatake! Maybe he dressed like him , maybe he used some genjustsu. Either way that day, the loser Obito took over as the legendary ninja genius Kakashi!

Squangos
December 14th, 2004, 03:32 PM
Now I post things similar to that, and people complain (I personally think that's a very interesting theory, Keiichi-chan, and I would like to quote it, if that's alright by you.), which annoys me! Is it because my name is Squangos? Are they all namist? Ooh, I bet they are…
Anyway, I assume we all agree that the scar wasn't caused by any eye surgery that may have occured? Especially as it extends so far. However, if they had to do delicate surgery on the whole left-hand side of his face, then the incision would be too large to heal properly, which would cause the scar. A mishap may've occured which affected the eye, rendering it non-functional (Or cause it to irreversibly activate). A replacement would be needed, and (Let us suppose) a Uchiha donates one of theirs. To prevent Kakashi's body from rejecting it, a sealing jutsu could've been performed that requires Kakashi to constantly supply chakra to force his body to accept the eye. The flow of chakra to the eye would keep the Sharingan constantly active, needing Kakashi to keep it covered so "it doesn't sap his chakra" (In the words of CapsuleCorpJX.). To disguise the sealing system used, Kakashi wears the mask.

what the f*ck? HAVE YOU EVEN READ THE MANGA?! Kakashi get's slashed, Obito develops the 2 tomoe Sharingan moments later, and kills the enemy. the only thing we dont know is how exactly he gets the Sharingan, though I'd assume after Obito's death.

ok, on kakashi's 1st day as a jounin yondaime(not yet the 4th hokage) leaves the team in kakashi's hands to go to the front line. Kakashi's team runs into 2 rock jounins that capture Rin.Kakashi attempts to kill the rock jounin that stayed behind but gets his eye cut and can't use it anymore. Obito, who is a member of the Uchiha Clan, gets mad and opens his sharingan and kills the rock jounin. Kakashi and Obito then go after the other rock jounin. When they find him they start fighting and looks like they won, but the rock jounin uses a jutsu that caused and earthquake and sent rocks down on Kakashi and his team. Kakashi was about to get crushed but Obito pushed him out of the way. When the rocks stopped falling they find Obito with his entire right side crushed under a rock. Obito tells Kakashi that he will give himhis shharingan as Kakashi's present for beoming a jounin. After this Kakashi busts through the rocks and opens his eyes to show that he now has the sharingan

Perhaps Kakashi got it from Obito, in a mission and got his eye slashed, and obito got crushed by a rock, and it was kakashi's birthday?
So Obito gave Kakshi his LEFT newly aquired Sharingan?

I dunno. just a guess.

That is what happens. Obito gets killed and he gives his eye to Kakashi and their other teammate transplants it for him.

I'm just answering the question, despite how many times it has been answered. When Kakashi was on a ninja squad back in the old days, he went on a mission with two teammates; Rin, and Uchiha Obito... anyways... stuff happened... and Obito got smashed by a giant boulder. One half of him was crushed; so before he died, he ordered Rin to remove his eye, (which had the sharingan) and give it to Kakashi. Anyways... Rin did it... removed the eye... and the removed Kikashi's eye... and gave him Obito's... Kakashi can't turn off the Sharingan...

The third tomoe in his Sharingan.

We don't know exactly how he got it, but it's most likely that he just developed it on his own after he got the hang of using it. Maybe when it went to three-tomoe, it became too great a drain on his chakra, hence the headband covering it.

No thats not what happens. The girl who is a medical ninga gets kidnapped and Obito decides to go after her while Kakashi wants to continue on their mission. Kakashi later changes his mind and goes to help. Stuff happens, Kakashi gets his eye slashed, Obito is finally able to summon the sharingan. More stuff, happens enemy causes a cave-in, Obito is crushed only half of his face in left his dying wish is to give his eye to Kakashi. Kakakshi later becomes a war hero.

My guess is that mabey Kakashi is a member of the uchia tribe.
1. Mabey his mother or father had the trade mark and passed it down (He never talked about his parents!)
2.he may not have had it earlyer but later he did mabey becuase of some tragic event (Almost like sauska how he couldn't use it before!)
3.And the reason why he can't change the sharigan back to his normal eye might have something to do with the cut that disabled the ability!

Just my guesses! (Sorry about the spelling lol!)

don't know if someone mentioned this yet, but here is the explaination:

Rin was captured by enemy ninjas and Obito went to rescue her without Kakashi who was still stuck up with his rules and regulations (he wanted to resume the mission without her). Obito had found Rin, but was about to be killed when Kakahi, who finally understood that teamwork and companionship was more important than rules, stepped in and injured the rock ninja. After some battle Kakashi injured his left eye and they were both about to be killed when he was helped by Obito who had his Sharingan awakened and killed the camouflaged enemy. The enemy's companion that was cornered used a Doton jutsu to make some rocks fall on Kakashi's team. Rin got out of the way but Kakashi was hit by a big rock on his blind side and fell to the ground, in an ultimate act of courage, Obito pushed Kakashi out of the way, therefore, saving him. Half crushed under the rocks, slowly dying, Obito's last gift to Kakashi was his Sharingan in his left eye, that was transplanted by Rin into Kakashi, making Kakashi what he is today, always being late and privileging teamwork to carry on Obito's legacy.

Yup! but not in the anime. Its actually only in the Manga, theres a special series called Kakashi Gaiden which talks about his child hood. Search it on google.
Heres what happened:
When Kakashi was younger he was teamates with a uchiha named Obito and a medical ninja named Rin. Kakashi recently became a jounin and everybody had presents for him EXCEPT obito. Then they were on a mission, and then Rin got caught so Kakashi and Obito had to go rescue her. On thier way to get Rin back, some guy slashes Kakashis left eye (the scar) which makes him blind. When they do end up rescuing her (with Obito's Sharingan) they run out of this cave, but it collapses and was about to kill Kakashi. But Obito jumped in the way and pushed Kakashi aside, therefor he was crushed by a giant boulder. The boulder took out his whole right body including half of his face, arm, leg etc. Then Obito says that since he didnt give Kakashi a present, and Kakashi was always his bestfriend, and how he was going to die, he would give Kakashi his Sharingan to replace his damaged left eye. So Rin followed Obito's instructions and amputated Obitos left eye and implanted it into Kakashi. But because it was a transplant, Kakashi cannot fully master the Sharingan and it would consume more chakra than usual.
that is how he got it

well there are alot of possible answers to this dilema....
some say it is the eye of his dead friend, and other say he is just a lost child, but someone just informed me that he might have gotten hurt in some battle in which he lost alot of blood and that while at the Hospital, he was given uchiha blood, and some how his body was able to adapt to this, and thus the birth of the sharingan we know today..........

^ Thank you Nero-Kakashi, you have shed valuable light towards your background.

But one question, you do know who Tobi is right?

Wow, this is why I stay away from Naruto. Anyway, theres a lot of spam here. I'm deleting a lot of posts. Although, its more the "Narutards" I'm annoyed by.

You should just lock this thread. The retarded thing is, a simple google search would solve the question at hand... and it's mostly common knowledge among Naruto fans how Kakashi gets his sharingan.

If all the fans agree, I will. I know next to nothing about Naruto, so I have no idea.

I also have a theroy its just a guess from a naruto fan. Well we all rember at the perlimary rounds at the forest of death or somewere else orochemaru or how ever you say his name talked to kakashi about wanting to take the sharigan for him self. I think he got the sharigan from one of the hokagas or we never know becuase we all know that hes a copy ninja but we dont know if he became a copy ninja once he got the sharigan or before so mabye himself or one of the hokagas used some kind of jutsus or something and gave him the eye.

I think he got it from Obito his former team mate. I read that Tobi is really Madara Uchiha who was the former leader of the Uchiha clan and Taught Itachi and helped Itachi destroy the Uchiha Clan so Itachi could gain the Mangekyou Sharingan. It also said that Madara Uchiha had gone blind so his Brother Izuna gave him his eyes well according to Madara he gave them thus an explanation they can implant the sharingan eyes so its looking highly likely thats how he got his Sharingan.

There's a few threads in the Naruto forum that need 2 be locked and/or deleted. Like this one they became absolutely useless after the first page; sometimes even less.

Obito graduated from the Ninja Academy at the age of 9, and got promoted to Chunin at the age of 11. During the Third Great Shinobi War, Team Minato is assigned to destroy the Kannabi Bridge. Because Kakashi has recently been promoted to Jonin, he is to be left in charge of the mission. Before setting out, however, Minato Namikaze and Rin give Kakashi gifts, something Obito forgot to do. Minato leaves them to go fight on the front lines, and Rin is soon captured by Iwagakure forces. Kakashi chose not to go save her, placing the mission's completion first, but Obito refuses to comply, stating that while those who break the rules are trash, those who abandon their friends are worse than trash. They part ways.

When Obito finds where Rin is being held, he is immediately attacked by Taiseki. Kakashi, having had a change of heart, arrives in time to save Obito and Taiseki uses the Hiding Camouflage Technique to disappear. Invisible, Taiseki is able to damage Kakashi's left eye. To save his teammate Obito awakens his Sharingan, immediately proving proficient enough with it to locate and kill Taiseki. Obito and Kakashi go to save Rin, but once she is freed an enemy-induced cave-in starts. Obito pushes Kakashi out of the way of a falling rock and his right side is crushed. Unable to free himself, Obito asks Rin to give Kakashi his remaining Sharingan eye to make up for not giving him a gift earlier. Once the eye transfer procedure is complete Rin and Kakashi are forced to leave, the cave continuing to collapse around them. Obito dies thinking of them both.

Seriously? Why is this thread not locked... this has been answered numerous times already; it's common knowledge now.
