From what it looks, it's all 3D designs and such like Alpha DC. Also, I notice that there are HP bars for different body parts . . . interesting . . .

Ack, now I need to buy some crap to get my GameCube to play Imports too!?!!?!?!?
GC seems Gundamlicious, but OG 2 I am not interested in, mainly because I have yet to beat the first one.

It's easier when it comes to Gamecube, because in essence, a Gamceube is already a "flip top". All you need to do is buy a boot disk and you're set.
As for Shin vs. Neo in this game . . . does that mean Shin Change! is going to be in the Alpha timeline? And considering all the stories look like they're finishing up . . . does that mean @3 will be the end . . . ?
And i'm suprised that Seed hasn't gotten the "Macross Plus Treatmet" in which it was so popular that it got stuffed into a game ASAP. Considering this is a OYW game, and there's no Seed, i'm guessing Banpresto may not favor Seed . . .

Means nothing. Grendizer being in Destiny had no effect on it being in MX.
And considering all the stories look like they're finishing up . . . does that mean @3 will be the end . . . ?
Depends. There's still a lot that can be done with Alpha. I would say another 2 games at most. They need to resolve the SRX plot (what was the secret mission referred to in @2?). Likewise they need to deal with Shuu (Lord of the Elemental). At the end of @G he was said to have a "dark power" behind him. Alpha needs to deal with tha, I want an epic battle with Volkruss like we did in the last timeline.
Considering this is a OYW game, and there's no Seed, i'm guessing Banpresto may not favor Seed . . .
They'll be saving it. Alpha is Banpresto's big SRW series just now, and thats where I expect SEED to go.

Thinking about Seed in Alpha timeline makes me sad . . .
It's where it's most likely to go. More so given that Alpha has exhausted every other major Gundam series other than G.

There really doesn't need to be another SRW@, as far as I'm concerned... And GC might be interesting, but OG2 is definitely the most exciting to me. Even though Arad's already been one in @2, I hope he's a choice for protaganist in OG2!

I would disagree. Storywise there's still a lot thats been left unfinished, notably the Masoukishin and SRX. To hint about more to come in @G and @2 then leave it unfinished would be sloppy. I doubt we'll see a new Alpha game until the PS3 though.
Even though Arad's already been one in @2, I hope he's a choice for protaganist in OG2!
I'd prefer Kusuha
RPGZeta
August 5th, 2004, 05:12 PM
Kuusha probably isn't going to main in OG2 but will defenitely play a huge part. Zengar and Elzam have to be back, and both of them rank among my favorite originals. They brought in Arad . . . unfortuantely, I don't give a damn about him, but I do like Zeola. ^_^
Since the Divine Crusaders are enemies, that means Ibis, Suei, and Tsugumi may show up as enemies for awhile and will switch sides once the Divine Crusaders die down . . . which may not be until OG3, but i'm patient, since I love 'em.

Arad is great! So is Seolla(that's apparently the official romanization...taking me a while to get used to it), so as long as they're there, i'm happy. And now that I just got Ryukooh/Koryuoh in @2, i'm looking forward to using Kusuha and Brooklyn in OG2...
I don't like the idea of an @3 if it's like @2, with little focus on the originals, and a big focus on stories that we've known in and out for a decade or more(i'm afraid that in @3, they might just resort to having Yazan fall in a hole every time he appears... he should be over and done with.)If they come up with a new, threateningly large original enemy force, and characters who have a more solid connection with it, I would be more interested... Of course, i'll still buy it even if it's got nothing new!
And back on the note of new, from the look of those scans, i'm going to make the obvious guess that the plot focus in OG2 is Impact's original plot, and so Kyosuke will probably still be one of the protaganists... Also on the note of plots I don't know(due to not being able to play the character's game): Ibis was in DC?

The thing about any @3 is that its going to have to do new things. Zeon are gone, as is Hell, the Mikene and the Dinosaur Empire. The old enemys are gone. The only old thing I'm really wanting to see in it is the Masoukishin's. Any new SRW continuity is likely to go over the same thing's again, by continuing an existing one there's less chance of that.
The other thing is that I want "hard" difficulty to be on F Final's level :)
RPGZeta
August 6th, 2004, 11:40 AM
Ya' know, about Zeolla's official romanization being "Seolla" and Zengar being "Sangar" . . . I really think Banpresto has some sort of problem with the letter "Z". o.o;;
CrossboneGundam
August 6th, 2004, 02:09 PM
Yeah, Seolla doesn't sound quite right, but it works a lot better than "Sanger Somvold," at least... Banpresto just doesn't know what they're doing with English or German, but they try to use them anyway and give us things like "Bilt Bilger" for Wild Wurger.
Of course, in Japan they probably don't know or care about the difference in the pronounciation and romanization...

Yeah, it looks like SRX Team and the Masoukishin are going to return in the next Alpha.
What I really want in the next Alpha is for the main character to be an older Irui with her own mecha, include SRX and Masoukishin, and the Alpha 2 Originals who Irui are looking for . . .
CrossboneGundam
August 9th, 2004, 11:33 AM
@2 Originals who Irui is looking for? Why would she be looking for them? I guess you didn't use "convince" those numerous times?
And from the looks of the new and improved http://www.suparobo.jp, Kyosuke and Lamia are probably the choice of protaganists in OG2... Even though it also has Excellen, but 3 protaganists is a bit much...

Spoiler Warning for what few people might actually have @2 and haven't beaten it!
Yeah, convincing a bunch of times changes the ending, but not for Zengar. Convince is still an option, but it won't stop her from going kaputski.
The post-end credits epilogue if you convince is a scene of your chosen protaganist and child-again Irui heading cheerfully toward a bright future, etc., hence my question about the proposed scenario...

There are 2 story guids out there for Alpha 2. One is a line by line translation of Zengars route (though only up to stage 32), the other explains what's going on in Kuusha's route.

Nope, probably not... @2 is like a one-shot, self-contained episode, if @ were thought of as an anime. It won't shed any light on anything that happened before, but you have to know what happened in @ and @G to fully appreciate what's going on. Like how cool Retzel is, for example.
And I think it's safe to bet we'll at least have Masaki, Ryuune and Shuu, though I doubt we'll be seeing Tyutti or Huang or Mio any time soon...
And finally, about the OG anime... It's not like there's much of anything to talk about right now. All we have to go on are the pictures of Kyosuke and Rai, and a sketch of an action scene featuring Alt Eisen...

The probably with all the Masoukishin showing up again is that Winky Soft, which now works with Konami, have the copy rights to all the characters except for the ones that have shown up recently like Masaki, etc.
Until then, we really can't have a full fledged Masoukishin game again. ;_;

Masaki's the oldest one, he debuted in SRW2 on the NES. Ryune ( ) appeared in SRW3 and Yan Long etc appeared in SRWEX on the SNES ;)
I believe the rights issue was why the Psybuster anime turned out so badly, as they couldn't use the original characters.

You should. Alpha is good, Alpha Gaiden is the best SRW game they've done. It was also the last one to present a real challenge on hard difficulty. Not stupidly hard as F Final was, but a good challenge. Also the best final boss they've done was in @G.

The game looks very promising. Daltanius looked great along with everything else . . . though Mazinkaiser looked a little bit too boxy and Kouji's pic was weird . . .
And I hope Banpresto works on the enemy's reaction when hit. When Gundam's beam rifle hit the Gouf, it barely did anything. I really hope Banpresto fixes that.

Well, if you want to see the Masoukishin enemies, you may as well get SRW EX, unless you want to see the enemies in better graphics. In the newer SRWs, however, I'd really like to control the Granzon, like in @ and maybe even the Neo Granzon. The GC SRW looks ok, but it's not enough to make me want to get a GC, for I'm a huge gundam fan (mainly fostered by playing SRW).

Does the Neo Granzon have better attacks than the Granzon? I've seen the one on Alpha Gaiden, and its attacks weren't really impressive (then again, I didn't get on hard mode, so I couldn't fight it on last stage). The first Fight with Neo Granzon in @G is limited. Its not got its full HP, and it doesn't have its two strongest moves (Black Hole Cluster and Shoutai Ho). Shuu also doesn't use seishin.

Both. Ryune (http://img.villagephotos.com/p/2002-8/46940/og-ryune.jpg) is hot and has a great personality, and the Valsione R (http://img.villagephotos.com/p/2002-8/46940/og-valcione.jpg) is the epitome of coolness. I remember their debut in SRW3, and thinking that I had to have them for my team.

Do the Arrowgaters come back in @2?
No.
Their return to Alpha is almost certain though. In @ all you defeated was a single fleet, and so alerted the rest of the Empire to Earths power. Viletta then warns of them coming in force, and says a true SRX must be made to counter them. In @2 the SRX team is said to be on a secret mission, perhaps in relation to rebuilding the R-Series after they were dismantled (The SRX needs Tronium, and thats awfully hard to obtain, maybe thats what they were doing).
The same incidentally goes for the Space Monsters. They're still out there....

Well, makes sense... can't wait until the next @ game... I wonder if they'll throw all the current robots in2 one big SRW game (preferably on PS, so I can play while hearing their voices & music) kinda like in F & F final. Say, wat exactly's the name of the Granzon's theme & the Granveil's theme? Also, any real way to obtain these songs?

Granzons theme is "Dark Prison", Granveils is "Fiery Chinese Gym Teacher". You'll find them on things like the @G and F Final OST's. Drama Versions also exist of each.

"Drama Versions"? n00b question, but what're they? O, 1 more thing, where exactly to get the @G & F final OSTs? They're not the easiest to find, or @ least not 4 me.

No idea where you can get them now, I got copies from a friend.
Drama versions are the music slightly altered with vocals and most notably voice overs.

Next Alpha game's defenitely gonna' be great.
We get to go to Boazania (and will hopefully get the Solar Falcon for a battleship), get the next piece of the GaoGaiGar plot, and more likely than not get the SRX team back.

We hope ;) Its always possible that they won't, much as I doubt it.
Also expect the STMC to return, along with Gunbuster.

Its not known. The Arrowgaters will be back (as Viletta said at the end of Alpha) so some explanation may be given in the future.
Also expect the STMC to return, along with Gunbuster.
A correct Sharp is a happy Sharp.

All I know is that the OGs are great games. My friend angryblack told me the Alphas are fun games as well. I hope more of this series comes over here.

Unless you mean more OG games, it's not happening.

Maybe some of the non-licensed SRT games (such as Lord of Elemental) will appear on the Wii virtual console. Then again, that's assuming that somebody is going to bother to translate previously unreleased games from the 16-bit era, which is highly doubtful.

I'd like to own it up with Masaki some more.
