My favorite Anime Music

i am a great Anime fan..
however i do not have tv channel in mt house to watch the anime.
i just download them and watch them on my computer.
So,
i do not have many variety of Anime music that i have heard.
anyways, i have some of my favorite music..

1. the opening music for Cowboy Bebop
2. Opening music for Kenshin
3. opening music in Mahoromatic
4. ending music in Digimon 3

It's getting to the point where it's so hard to narrow down my favorites... but I shall try :)

Anything by Yoko Kanno, most recently the Ghost in the Shell SAC OSTs (yes, Inner Universe and Origa ARE excellent pieces, I listen to them constantly).

Susumu Hirasawa's score for Berserk is brilliant IMO, totally sets the mood. His score for Millenium Actress is just as good (if I didn't know it was for MA, I'd swear it was Berserk OST 2!)

I've said it once, twice... no, an infinite number of times...

Yoko Kanno's music is my favorite. Arjuna, GitS:SAC, Wolf's Rain, Cowboy Bebop, Escaflowne, Brain Powerd, Turn a Gundam, X Character Files... All's good in the word of Kanno. Maaya Sakamoto is my favorite singer of any anime song, or non-anime song, for that matter...

I tire of repeating myself... ^_~

Maaya Sakamoto is a good singer. I like her song from the Escaflowne OST, it is so cute I can't help but listen to it all over again.

Mahoromatic op? Good too. But I guess it would make first time watchers bored cuz it's too slow for an op.

Sobakasu? I can't imagine how the singer looked like after she performed it.

For me my faves come from Love Hina, Escaflowne, Cowboy Bebop, Wolf's Rain and GITS:SAC...

My favorites are most definitely many themes from Fushigi Yuugi, Sailor Moon, Slayers, Cardcaptor Sakura, Shamanic Princess, Rurouni Kenshin, Magic Users Club, Chobits, Ayashi no Ceres, Nadesico, Tenchi Muyo, Earth Girl Arjuna, Fancy Lala, Blue Seed, Fruits Baket, Steel Angel Kurumi, Outlaw Star, and Excel Saga that I can remember, and quite a few more too. :)

Furi Kuri: Addict is awesome! Even the second one is awesome, but has like 3 voice scenarios. If you like J-rock that is. And I just got the AIR OST. mainly BGM, ofcourse, I'm not really into BGM, but it's really good! I love the piano tracks, and some are bishoujo BGM that has quality. lol It all depends on your taste, really. I also like Kujibiki Unbalance OP(under17)&ED, Genshiken OP&ED.

The Bebop OSTs are my favorites and Blue is the anime CD I listen to the most. Yoko Kanno get the most love, and deserves it, but Joe Hisaishi's work with Studio Ghibli is also worthy of recognition...

Metropolis, a classic jazzy soundtrack. They even have the classic St. James Infirmary and the Jazz vocals in the Theme of Metropolis are beautiful, and in English.

Of all the Yokko Kanno (since everybody is commenting on it) my favorite is probably Strangers on the Wolf's Rain OST, or Waltz to Zizi (with the accordian) on the first Cowboy Bebop OST.

noir and samurai champloo have great ost along with hellsing depending on what your' doing... hellsing is awesome to listen to when driveing at night as for gameing naruto sound track as for champloo good for when sitting around and chilling

Detective Conan is a show with some of the most excellent OP/ED themes in anime; I really enjoy both albums very much. I also enjoy the One Piece theme songs too, I play those CDs in my bedroom whenever I get a little nostalgic.

Same goes for Inuyasha, although I'm not a fan of that show at all.

One thing I absolutely love is when they decide to use classical music in anime. It lends a weight that's just not possible with contemporary music. Episode 12 of Gankutsuou featured a segment of the first movement of Rachmaninov's Piano Concerto No. 2 in C Minor, and episode 20 had a transposed version of Chopin's Etude No. 3 in E Major, which was also used in episode 51 of Full Metal Alchemist. :wub: As I'm a classically-trained pianist, my appreciation for these pieces knows no bounds.
