I was looking for websites that give locations to get Aero materia in FFVII through Yahoo, and I found this link (http://search.ebay.com/final-fantasy-vii-materia_W0QQsokeywordredirectZ1QQsonewus erZ1)...

Could anyone tell me what the bugger is this all about? Since when could you buy materia for real?

I am extreemly misinformed on these kinds of things, so sorry if this has been asked before...

It looks like it's just a collectors item.

interesting though... I want some of those. Wonder if they're official, or some guy just has way too much time on his hands

EDIT: This is nice too: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=16462&item=5904746210&rd=1#ebayphotohosting

I've always wondered if they were really official. They have just about every single summon, support, command, etc materia there is.

now if Only I could get a replica of the weapons or armor, and some removable materia...

Clouds Buster Sword and Tifa's Mythral Claw are floating around the internet and cons.

Apparently, people are even stupider than I thought.

Okay, that's actually a little cool. But only if they work.

I've seen these around too. I can't understand why someone would be willing to pay $100+ for what, a big marble sitting on a stand? At least with merchandise like figurines or statues, I can understand there's some aesthetic merit there and those are meant to be expensive. Even if these Materia are official, there's not much to look at in the end.

.. they're just big colored glass marbles. *_*;; Go pick one out from a new-age dealer and I'll print out a shiny picture of the summon. I would pay 100 for a full detailed action figure.. but a freaking marble on a stand? -_-; Some people have too much extra money.

Bluemizu: I know.

This is gaming gone too far, it's just a freaking marble on a stand. I bet you that the whole thin cost about 10$ to make, the plaque is probrably held on by a cheap glue, and the marble as well.

No, see, FF gaming gone too far would be a yellow feather on a stand.

$500 Limited Edition Chocobo Feather!

WTF?! I'm brilliant.

See, a weapon is fun. Or a figure. Or a life-size blowup doll of Vincent (>_>; ).

But a marble is ridiculous.

You say that and yet, in Japan tiny little slimes...and similar things sell like hotcakes...

A marble I agree is kinda kookie...but hey buyer beware...E-bay once sold a "ghost in a jar" for a rather high sum of money.

I remember I saw a pet rock gor for $80 on eBay, absolutely nothing go for $90, and a slap in the face (Delievered right to your door, you had to pay for the guy's plane ticket) go for $150.

In fact, the only two searches I've ever done on eBay that hasn't returned any results was "Cheap biological agents that could potentially be used to take over the Earth" and "Nuclear Warheads".

eBay is wonderful.

I want the blowup doll too. o__o Ahem... >> I'd get some sorta FFVII weapon and make sure to fill materia slots with some sort of coloured glass ball. But I don't think I'd buy one of those. ^^"

Heh. . it's amazing what people will spend money on, whether it's an empty jar or a marble. If they had some proven-to-work Knights of the Round materia up, I might make a bid. :P Yeah, well. . marbles. . whatever floats your boat. Personally, I'd rather get a life-sized replica of Cloud's sword or Squall's gunblade and perch it on my wall.

wow i would soo love to have my own kidney stone but i think id much rather something that wasnt pulled from someones body uuh lets say um MATERIA!!! my god even if it is a marble people like me who have no life will kill 3 small time drug dealers and take their wallets getting the 100+ to buy at least one of those marbles.....and be happy with their life for 20 minutes.....but yeah speaking realisticly 100+ for a little green marble would be kinda silly.....

Well, how ridiculous is it if, say...they came with weapons? I have a good deal of experience with folding steal. I think I'll make Clouds Buster sword and some Materia to stick in it...

Does anyone even read these old posts? Anyway, check out www.swordsonline.com for Cloud's Buster Sword. I'm going off of memory, but the thing is made out of 440 stainless steel (Check under "Practical Fantasy Sword" - damn copywright laws) and weighs 13 (!) pounds. They've also got a Masamune replica at something like 54 inches w/40 inch blade. Fear.

There is definitely NO official / licensed materia... some seller just call them originals because they feel they were the first one to come up with the idea of selling marble balls at a really high price.

I am sorry to post to a such an old discussion, but I was in China this X-mas and the very same marble pieces sold as materia on ebay cost about 2$ there... Of course they were not called materia and had no "collector's cards" or anything like that...

My website has more about the so called materia, please have a look if interested in FFVII items: (under "Unlicensed")

The website these Materia sets are off of is KingOfSwords.com ...

I'm not sure if the website is trustworthy, either, as a replica mobel site because the swords on the site say "Full Tang" which is dangerous and means the sword extends to the end of the handle, alike a kitchen knife, and adds strain and stress to the blade on contact and can snap easy..

Also -- I noticed on the Terms of Service that he says the descriptions on his site are not accurate, or rather they might not be.. and he holds no responsibility for if the object or replica you recieve being the real deal.

A good friend has an actual replica of the Buster Sword. It's obviously not as big as Cloud's actual sword but it's still heavy as sin. Although he works out and practices various types of martial arts so he is attempting to wield it effectively.

It also has materia slots on the sword and he was actually given small "materia" with the purchase of the sword.
