As for more Roy x Ed fics, check out the FMA section in fanfiction.net for some good ones. My fave ones are Gold and Charcoal, AU fusion with Ai no Kusabi and one that Ed is crossingdressing as a nurse (>_> I might draw a fanart of it one day...) with Roy shameless hitting on him (don't worry this story actually have plot). If you're looking for real yaoi, go to adultfanfiction.net, but there's only two yaoi RoyxEd fics (there used to be three, but one of them got deleted). Maybe after the anime series ended, I would write one, who knows?

I was into FMA at least a year before I saw even one episode. I'm VERY good at finding Japanese fansites with galleries, & this is the trend I see in Japan.

1)Envy X Ed is as popular than Roy X Ed. I've even seen alot of WWrath X Ed.

2)Almost all the sites are owned by girls who's art borders syouta. (esp Lords of Will)

3)All female FMA yaoi fans like Getbackers & their favorite character is always Kadsuki. (yah, I thought it was Kazuki, but alot of them add the d cuz of source of the zu, witch comes from Da Ji Zu De Do rather than from Za Ji Zu Ze Zo)

I've only ever looked at some Roy x Ed fan fiction, not graphics.

But I'm still wondering about Envy x Ed. Envy is the oldest Homunculus and a shapeshifter, he doesn't remember what his original body looks like so he just takes on a young body he likes, and (IIRC) he says early on in the series that this body is female. Which would mean that unless he shapeshifts into a male (or more male) body, Envy and Ed technically - that is to say, canonically - make for a het pairing. Of course he could shapeshift into any of the other male characters (even Armstrong the bodybuilding addict...that would frankly be insane!, to pair a giant like that with Edward :wacko: ), but if one uses an Envy that looks like for instance Roy Mustang, doesn't it really become Roy x Ed slash in all the ways that matter?

That would explain my confusion of course. -_-; I really thought Envy had said something about having a woman's body early on in the series. Either I was off or perhaps it was a fansubber's own gender-specific interpretation of a line of dialogue.

Personally I'm not at all fond of shapeshifters in this context. Like I said before, if you're going to have Envy change into Mustang to molest Ed, why not just use Mustang in the first place? It is also very inviting of lazy writing in fanfics when a character can take on any form, allowing the writer to take shortcuts in the plot (provided there is a plot; if it's PWP then whatever...)

Maybe so, because most of the FMA Japanese sites I went to had RoyEd and I went to at least 40 or so... Or when I read the Newtype Japan's doujinshi section, there was always a review of a RoyEd doujinshi every once in three months or something. I used the same assumption with the Elricest pairing. I seen very few EnvyEd pics...

I'm so planning to buy a couple of RoyEd doujinshi at I-CON, a sci-fi and anime convention. >_< It'll be over 30 bucks though...

Oooh, I hate Roy/Ed. It's just... sick and wrong. It's emotional paedophilia. But only emotional, 'cause the Japanese age of consent is 13, so Ed spends most of the anime old enough to do it, but emotionally he's still a child. ...actually, my favourite character from Getbackers is Akabane. He just cracks me up when he hits on Ginji. The breathy quality of his voice just gets me every time...

But my fav scene in Getbackers is one of the hotsprings eps, when Ban and Ginji are in the hotsprings sneaking up on somebody, who turns out to be Shino, and they sorta give him a once over, stare at each other, and exclaim "...like a HORSE!".

And, on what pairing I like, I like EdxAl! Elricest, baby, all the way! And my reasons? Well, sex inherently implies a certain degree of trust, and the only person Ed really trusts is Al. Al seems to be more trusting than Ed, though. And when I say EdxAl, I'm not talking about armour!Al. That's... icky. Plus, Ed would never have sex with Al unless Al could enjoy it too, which Al can't when he's just a walking suit of armour - Ed's not that cruel when it comes to his brother.

Plus, they've also committed the *worst* sin they can commit in the anime - human transmutation - so what's a little incest compared to that? And there's far more hints for it in the anime than for RoyxEd.

I mean, I could see Roy and Ed having a short affair or one-night-stand, but not a lasting relationship, they antagonise each other way too much. And couples that would constantly break-up-and-make-up aren't my style at all.

But EdxAl could have a lasting relationship. They understand each other and all that. Which RoyxEd don't, and neither of them *want* to understand or get to know the other better, either.

Yeah, a lot of fanfic the last few years has just been positively atrocious. I swear they're being written by 5-yr-olds, the grammar is *that* aweful! With all the 'liek' and '3leet' and 'b4' and stuff. If you can't be bothered to spell it *correctly* and use the *whole* word instead of the abreviation, then don't bother putting it on the web, you know? But you can usually avoid those, because they'll spell their summaries badly as well. And I *never* read a fic that doesn't have a summary. I hate fic archives that only have the fic names, and not the summaries. I mean, we want to *know* what the fic is about, right? I don't wanna click on a link to a fic only to find out it's like, BDSM or rape or a yaoi pairing I hate, because it had no summary to warn me about that.

I've read some non-canon fanfictions that somehow end up incredibly in character, so no, I disagree, Matt. A classic example of good non-canon fiction would be the Shoebox Project. I can't say it's an anime fic, but in Harry Potter, Sirius x Remus is certainly not canon, but the quality of the writing and the way the characters interact is definitely, definitely wonderfully - and believably - portrayed.

I think it's a bit extreme to say "all slash fanfics are bad" because there is a small, but definite percentage of /good/ ones out there.

first of all...that is a dumb reason to live in Japan. You would end up hating it. Secondly...FRUITS....frutis basket is a more accurate find than some obscure doujinshi.....

Because all I've seen around was RoyxEd (rarely the contrary...), and, believe me, I've searched and found a lot of websites.
I know there are a lot of doujinshis about Envy and Ed for I have also seen a lot of cover books picturing the two of them in a...let's say 'romantic' position.
Sadly, it's all I've been allowed to see of this pairing over the internet.


I am a huge fan of that pairing. If you look on ebay right now, there are quite a few doujins for auction featuring them (or at least there was a couple days ago).
I bought 3 different Envy x Ed doujins from there, and if I had a scanner I would happily upload some raws for people to view. I tried using a digital camera to take pics, but that won't work since my camera is crappy and old.
The three I got were from a circle called Tsuina. The three I got from them were Silent Night, X (Eks), and EE (the latter two being the best). They have amazing art. I'm very picky about doujinshi and was glad I discovered them. Most of the other ones I have seen don't appeal to me.

I also like Al x Ed (yes, I know it's incest but I don't care). Roy x Ed isn't for me because I think Roy is annoying.
Pairings that involve Wrath are kinda interesting. I read a fic once that had EnvyxEdxWrath. Sadly, it was poorly written. It could have turned into something really good too.

Yays, another Elricest fan! Oh, you know, on y!gallery a few months ago, one of the members did an FMA Fav Pairing type poll. The elricest was split into "AlxEd" and "EdxAl". The highest most fav was RoyxEd, but the overal highest was Elricest, because the number of people who liked EdxAl was only a few below those that like RoyxEd, and the same with the number of people who liked AlxEd. So overall Elricest had twice as many supporters as RoyxEd, ha-ha ha-ha-ha-ha! ...makes me wonder, though, why is it that the only FMA writers seem to be RoyxEd!? Are we Elricest fans FMA fanfic constipated or something? (on the other hand, RoyxEd fans seem to be suffering from FMA fanfic dia...diar... diare... diarhea - it's close enough to the proper spelling, damnit!) And, oh yeah, Roy is annoying, isn't he? I just figured he was an idiot... until the Incident With The Puppy. ::scowls:: I bet every petshop in that city has a notice with a picture of Roy on it saying "Do NOT Sell This Man A Pet At Any Cost - Especially If It Is Furry!"

But, ooh, Wrath! I came across a... well, I dunno if it could be called good, but it was interesting!... a Greed/Wrath fic. Greed get's to Wrath first, and then there's stuff (I forget what), and then they have sex and it's all weird because Wrathj kinda goes all melty and sort of fuses with Greed. Yeah, it was deffinately interesting.

first of all...that is a dumb reason to live in Japan. You would end up hating it. Secondly...FRUITS....frutis basket is a more accurate find than some obscure doujinshi.....

I wouldn't live in Japan JUST for that, it was just sort of an expression you know? No one can be THAT dumb, even if it seems like you're convinced I am.

I never said it was weird to find some Fruit Basket doujin, I perfectly know it's rather popular manga with characters 'pretty' enough to fulfill a lot of doujin's authors fantasies. Simply, when you're searching for something, with a lot of details in key words, it's frustrating to only find some FB doujin when reaching the 15th page. That's all.

Yep, I know. I saw a lot of them on eBay( some seemed to be really well drawn by the way)...sadly, the price was in dollars and I happen to be french. -_-

I have nothing against RoyxEd, I can say it makes sense in (maybe twisted) way seeing how Roy is so protective of Edward (secretly, but surely). It's just that I'm not fond of this pairing neither. Roy is unattractive to me( I said to ME dear readers), so it doesn't....fit with my slash tastes. If it makes any sense.

I have nothing against AlxEd or slash incest neither. I've read my fair share of incest fics in all kind of fandoms (eventhough I've never tried the Elricest), so you can guess it's far from shocking me. I've even liked an incest pairing once.

I love Wrath. I've seen some fics with him too, but it wasn't really interesting. Plus since he's kinda young, it's delicate to write lemons or anything like that with him... I might have read the EnvyxEdxWrath you're talking about...is it on ff.net?

Yeah, that's where I saw it. It had some smut as well. I wish more people would write a fic with that threesome.

...how the heck did I miss this thread? Oh anyway, RoyxEd, EnvyxEd and borderline RoyAl, Elricest fan. I think there's a community called fma_yaoi out on LJ that has some fanfics and the occasional fanart of good quality.
