*cough* (http://animenation.net/forums/showthread.php?t=125216)

That thread scares me... Wing actually has the most votes along with the 08th MS Team. :eww:

My favorite happens to be the only UC I've seen thus far: Mobile Suit Gundam.

08th MS Team is great so I'm glad its beating Wing. I still like Wing to a certain degree but not as much as UC or G Gundam.

Once Zeta comes to DVD here things will be diffrent(for the better).

Different strokes for different folks

I like Gundam Seed. It's almost exactly like Mobile Suit Gundam, except the visuals are upgraded a lot.

I can't believe somebody else likes Turn A Gundam also! I love that series too! It doesn't get any attention even from Gundam fans.

MS gundam, SEED, 08th team, 0080, 0083, mainly the UC series, i'm not a visuals whore either, so i like the original MSG A LOT. SEED is good, ill admit, its a good retelling of the original. but adding mroe than one gundam is a bad idea, unless its liek the 08th MS team, with the Ground Type Gundams.....

What about Mobile Suit Gundam TV series. I like it more than the movies since the movies lost character devolpment & cut good battles out(like Gyan vs Gundam) but it was nice that the movies removed its flaws like some fillers & very bad animation scenes.

I love the movies, MSG,Zeta and CCA the movies are my favorite. While they cut somethings out, They tend to be easier to watch for me because i hate the "on the next episode of" and "previously on"(hmm wonder why i dont like DBZ!?),as well as seeing the opening, ending and halfway points over and over again.

But i really havent seen any UC gundam i didnt like, sure some arent my favorites but i dont dislike them.

Its all about G Gundam...I kid i kid. I really liked the 08th MS Team and the original Mobile Suit Gundam, and also seed has found a place in my heart.

But for real why does everyone hate G Gundam? I mean did you see the gundams? They were all great. A giant windmill, a cactus/fisherman, a viking, and the list goes on.

Favorite: I gotta say 08th MS Team = Excellent
Close 2nd: Gundam Seed

I'm loving Gundam Seed a ton, from the 14 episodes I've seen of it. It's visually stunning, there's good character development imo, and I can't wait for each next episode. I also love the opening and closing themes, and how the closing theme overlaps the end of each episode.

Side question: Does the ending theme do the overlap on cartoon network?

Makil

and how the closing theme overlaps the end of each episode.

same here. I think its a neat little thing to do.

Side question: Does the ending theme do the overlap on cartoon network?

they do kinda. They play the intro to the song, cut to the next episode preview, then back to the end credits. It doesnt have the same affect as the Japanese version does...

I haven't seen enough Gundam to declare a best, but out of what I have seen...

Mobile Suit Gundam movie trilogy
Char's Counterattack
Gundam Wing
G Gundam (only a few random episodes)
SEED

The winner is... * drumroll *

...Mobile Suit Gundam movie trilogy!

You should watch all of G Gundam, a few random eps just doesn't do justice. It took me a few months until I started to like the show. I'd watch some random eps & just the first 10 or so eps then I'd stop, but after a while I got the will to watch it all no matter what and by around episode 15 I fell in love with it.

According to Anime Insider's June/July web poll, the most favorite Gundam series was Gundam Wing at 45%, with G Gundam in second place with 17%.

Personally, I prefer G Gundam, only because its the only Gundam series I have seen the most episodes of.

More like most popular in America. The AUs are always more popular in America cuz many kids love the AUs.

ShmooZeroOmega
May 13th, 2004, 01:58 PM
However, the last two AUs that they have not released on this side of the big pond yet are Gundam X and Turn A Gundam. GX had terrible ratings in Japan and I don't think that any network would play Turn-A even if if you threatened to push them into a room filled with radioactive killer bees...
So in short, we have nothing but UC to look forward to. :)

That's because most of the people who read that magazine are of single-digit age and their primary source of anime is Cartoon Network.

I'd definitely have to say 08th MS Team. The only thing close to that would be MS IGLOO, and if you guys haven't heard of it, check it out. I just got it, and it's definitely one of my favorite, it goes back to the U.C. Era.

And to you ugys who hate 08th MS Team and love Wing, you've probably never watched the 08th MS team, and sit in front of Cartoon Network all day.

Zeta Gundam, along with Char's Counterattack. There's still much I haven't watched, though.

This is pretty tough,Id have to say 08th MS because it was the closes thing youd actually get to beiliveing taht their can me Mobile Suits fighting the dense Jungle of Vietnam..or Thailand, whatever. I just thought that Colonel Norris Packard with his Custom Gouf was just the greatest character in the whole story even though he wasent on screen for a ful 10 minuetes. Everyting was perfect about 08th MS Team,0080 and 0083 are 2nd in my book but arent even sloe to where 08th is in my heart. It just disspoints me that they couldnt flesh out either of the series longer but chose to make less quality series span up to 50+ episodes.

**I saw this like 5 years ago some the details may be way off** My favorite one is the wone where a pilot (for the green team) crashes in a city and a lil kid stumbles upon him and his machine. They become friends and eventually we find out that the kid has a sister thats a pilot for the people with Gundams. Her and the other pilot meet up (not knowing that the other is a pilot) and kinda flirt with each other. Something happens where eventually the green guy pilot tries to escape the town and the girl is called in to fight him and she unknowingly kills him on the battlefield I wanna say that it was somehow avoidable cuz the lil kid seemed to have a way of avoiding the whole situation but he couldn't get somewhere in enough time to do something. It was cool to me because he was the only one who knew the whole story and it was fairly depressing. I loved it at thetime because it was the first anime i'd seen that had pretty much zero action yet had me hooked to watching it every night on [as].

Levon
January 9th, 2007, 09:25 PM
Just some corrections.

The Gundam pilot is his neighbor not sister.

Green team?-_-; They are Zeon and they wear green uniforms & use green Zaku's. Instead of "the green guy pilot"(makes him sound like an alien;)) you could say "the Zeon guy pilot".

Also you should know that it was edited pretty badly on Cartoon Network. For example eposode 4 had nearly 50 edits. Last episode has nearly 20 edits.
If you thought it was depressing on AS try watching it uncut, its even more depressing.

The whole series takes place in Southeast Asia, very near to India I think, since there are both Jungles and and a Desert portion as well as a section in the lower Himalayas.

There were no crossovers with MSG locations like Jaburo or Odessa as far as I can remember; the nearest that it got to Odessa was a small detachment of Feddie mobile suits from Odessa going after the troops being launched into space by Admiral Kellarney, they were taken out by a 'Vaporization Bomb' at long range after being spotted by a Zeon officer.

08th MS Team by far. I remember watching in a long time ago on Cartoon Network and loving it. It was the first Gundam box set I purchased. It's a shame it's so short, but probably for the best. Next would probably be Gundam SEED. I just finished watching it for a second time through and it is still as good as I remember. I watched turn a gundam this summer and it was ok, but I probably wont watch it again. I remember liking Gundam Wing a lot when I was younger, but I watched it again this summer also, and it is the longest thing in history. It's not that long by episode count, but they drag out everything so much that it just got on my nerves. I haven't seen Gundam Zeta yet, but I really want to. I watched Mobile Suit Gundam after watching Gundam SEED and it's pretty kewl how SEED is more or less a remake of the original. G Gundam is good, mainly because it's so different from the rest. My vote would have to go out to 08th MS Team, then Gundam SEED in second.

It's the simple fact that the guy hasn't seen Wing himself. Sure, in the long run we, the U.C. Brigade, will be there to poke fun at the thought of liking Wing. But, think about it, without watching the series, how does one hold an argument without watching it?

If you're a Gundam fan you'll sit down and watch all of them no matter how bad they may be. You just never know what the turnout for a show will be like.

I love all. Can I vote for SD Gundam G Generation? MS IGLOO was awesome. Though my favourite is still MSG as it's the first to break the robot genre. Zeta reminds me of Ideon, so it's second. Tomino forever!

SEED is great, actually. It's just too mainstream for my taste. I loved Destiny initially as it had good potential. They ran out of luck?
