You have no idea how much I love this reccomendation forum
Anyways, after watching the trailer and getting that freakishly infectious tune stuck in my head I decided to inquire further into this show. I never hear anyone talk about this be it positively or negatively which lead me to wonder if it's good or not. So to anyone who has actually seen it: was it worth the money?
Thanks in advance^_^

Hmm... I saw a few episodes a LONG time ago. I can't really remember it that well...but from the first few episodes I saw I thought it was pretty good. It wasn't like any other mecha shows I had seen.
If I remember correctly, Dai-Guard (the mecha) was really cheap, like it falls apart and crap. The premise was pretty unique as well. I plan on getting it once I can get some money, but its not a top priority, I'd say its 5th down on my list of anime buys. But I would recommend it IMO...

Yes it worth the money, (but I got for $36) Dai-Guard put a unique twist into the super robot anime. There is great character development and interaction are nice. The animation is good.

Dai-Guard is a really fun show to watch! It's doesn't have a deep story but it has fun characters and the story is interesting enough to keep you watching. I recommend it!

Saw the first episode, I find it a bit below mediocre. I like giant robots, especially when fighting other giants, but it seemed like a Mazinger Z ripoff.

Wow, I don't even remember posting this O_o It's somehow depressing to see that I still talk/type in the same way I did back when I was 16 >_<
Anyways, if it's of any interest to anyone, I did pick up Dai-Guard not too long after posting this thread, so needless to say, I'm no longer in need of input. I suppose if anyone else is interested in the show, this could be useful still, but as for me, my problem was solved literally years ago :|
And for the record, I really miss that reccomendation forum.....

I absolutley hated Dai-Guard until episode 4, after that the series was actually pretty enjoyable.
I like the characters, dunno why.^_^

Wow this is an old thread O_O. At least you got one response that was close to when you posted it. So did you enjoy the series?
And yeah they should reinstate the recommendation forum.

It was fun, simple, and genuinely entertaining, so yeah I liked it ^_^ Considering how cheap it was, it definately had more than enough bang for its buck, and it has to have one of the most catchy opening songs I've ever heard. It was definately a purchase I was pleased with :)

I absolutely love Dai-gaurd. I bought the brick set a long time ago and haven't been happier with another purchase like that one in a while. It wasn't filled with an over blown plot, annoying characters or boring dialogue (i.e Evangelion, Gundam) It was one of those "Go with the flow" mecha anime. It was funny, Had cool characters and it housed one of the best openings ever.
Definitely one of the most underrated series out there. I strongly recommend it to every mecha fan, hell even it your not a mecha fan, you'll maybe like this show
