Not really any advice to give, except make sure you've backed up important stuff.
NTFS though is only a real benifit on larger discs (10GB+), XP doesn't need it, so you can save hassle if your drives aren't that big.

After failing the "boot from CD" option last night, i just spent the last hour+ trying to install it from 98SE...

No go either... same error...

ahem, if I may... you say that we can only eat rocks/stones, but not rocks... yet these stones and pebbles came from larger rocks through the process of erosion either my water, wind, gravity or other rocks falling on it. so unless you argue that we cannot eat rocks because they are bigger than what we could fit in our mouth at the same time, you are mistaken... thank you
