I wasn't aware of the expanded Fugly Line either, until someone linked to a web page (http://pony-hp2.web.infoseek.co.jp/EVA-F.htm) with photos of a recent gashapon series that featured 01, 02, and both 00's, all donning that clunky stuff. This particular photo is from that site, and its angle just made that whole pointless-fin/pylon-right-in-front-of-the-face thing so blatant that I couldn't help but attempt to add a caption.

Personally, I don't mind the big meat cleavers she's wielding that much. Sure, they aren't as sleek and sexy as Yui's katana (I can never figure out why that thing is so popular in illustrations and toys... it was never in the show. Maybe it was designed for the show, but never got used?), but they look better than... whatever the hell Yui's and Zero's respective figures in this line are holding.

"D-Cup Hunter" is a very funny ecchi doujinshi with one continuous story, and it'd be great to see the whole thing translated. What I posted is actually just one page from a 7-page scene wherein Misato and Kaji are out on the town, very drunk, with the former being stalked by Asuka, who is intent on-- Oh, well, I wouldn't want to spoil it, if you ever manage to see the whole thing. I would put good money on "real". I've seen some guys with crazy tattoos before and that's par for the course there. Run through a couple tattoo mags and you'll see some interesting stuff.

If I recall correctly, my buddy's brother has the Battle of Endor covering his left shoulder and upper arm along with two Quake 3 medalions on each tricep and a fifth on the back of his neck. Otaku come in all types.

Don't be so sure. Many of my CDR's recorded in 2000-2001 with videos now only give me that error. BTW, know of any tool to still get as much info from them as possible?

Shouldnt that be CRC error? (cyclic redundancy check). Commonly used on media and data transfer protocols.

@AA, if you can do a raw rip of the CD or DVD, you may be able to use daemon tools to ignore all CRCs. The raw rip will still have the flipped bits (thus failing the check once the CRC is recalculated on the computer) but at least you can read from it.

I have had luck with damaged CDs trying to copy off one file at a time. You should be able to get all the files that don't have physically damaged data that way. Sometimes you can do more than one file at once, but when you start to get errors you have to drill down to individual files because a single error will abort the transfer.

Oh, I agree, I like a lot of the fanart and stuff out there, and even the artwork for the Rei/Asuka "raising" games, while certainly not my favorite, isn't THAT bad...for some reason, though, the Shinji Raising art, in particular, just makes me go "ughh" every time I see it. No other specimen rubs me the wrong way quite so effectively...I try not to harp on it every time such an image pops up, but every once in awhile I've just got to rant a bit. My apologies. ;)
