BTW, great scans, whatever was left of the archives. the broken links were kind of a letdown, especially with Rei-san dropping tantalising hints all over the place leading to revelations long wiped off from the Intarwebby. Me want shots of mummified Asuka!

Ya know, I was thinking about (don't know if this should go here but oh well, it's GH!), Reichu, but perhaps instead of doing Shogouki in the the thinker's pose for the FGC, do the lilium Yui instead. Offhand, I know of two non-virgins that come here. Probably at least two others. ;)

No matter. I'm in no hurry.

If you want the stuff, make a list of the broken links (copy URL, or whatever) and their context, and I can put you in touch with 'em. They're still over here, more than likely.

You may like this. <Zero>

Hells yeah! That's very cool. One of my faves now. (I loved the Xmas Adam Akachan, too.)

But random suggestions, if you like:

The Eva pectorals seem to have a slightly different shape than what you've got going there, judging from the mogitai; the bottom edge distinctively curves up and tucks into the armpit, beneath the deltoid. They do the same thing in us, more or less, but it's really emphasized in Evas because of the shoulder span.

Also, the top two abdominals (rectus abdominis) would probably only be poking out beneath the core. The mogitai don't have any cores to speak of, really, so this problem isn't accounted for. I'm still not sure how things are "rewired" to compensate for having this giant ball in the solar plexus region. Wrap around it, maybe? I'll have to nag somebody who knows better than I.

That's about where my knowledge of muscles ends. :P I can supply pics if you need/want 'em.

On an aside, Keel's Fangirl asked about harpy necks. I was doodling around earlier to figure out a likely shape for the skuill (including cranium), and I have something that only requires the neck to be slightly longer than "normal", if at all. The neck structure can't be terribly different if they have the Adam's apple (heh heh, "Adam") in the right place. I'll post something later -- I'm-a-gonna see if I can tighten up the skull "design" by referencing non-human mammal skulls.

EDIT:

Ya know, I was thinking about (don't know if this should go here but oh well, it's GH!), Reichu, but perhaps instead of doing Shogouki in the the thinker's pose for the FGC, do the lilium Yui instead. How do we know it's not just an Eva with flaming hair? ;) That's my latest conclusion. I guess I better just out with it in the Yui/Kyoko thread.

I'll have to look into it... I remember you comparing Azzael's friend, the confusingly-named Azazel (big, red, lanky, retractible neck, blade arms; you might remember the sculpture of her molesting Kyoko-sama) to some other artist. I think it was on account of the ciliate "gastric orifice" that Azazel has located in a very... special place. Too lazy to do a search on EMF now, tho.

Reminds me of the scenario I made wherein Gendo attempts to resume his sexual relations with his wife, and, in the process, becomes the first human tampon. (So to speak.)

Evas are flat as the flattest board. They do, however, have another round thing in their chest that can produce wonders us poor Lilim can only imagine. When confronted with a woman immensely larger than yourself, you have no solace but to please her with everything you've got. I.e., your entire body. It'd almost be like returning to the womb! ("Men spend the first nine months trying to get out, and the rest of their lives trying to get back in.") However, a safety line would be required to ensure fast removal if need be.

Hence, "human tampon".

Boy, what was that Gendo thinking? Look at all he missed out on! "This is the only way to be with Yui again", Lilith's huge white arse.

Well, in the Fanfic, Shinji managed to bring EVA 01 to the point of Orgasm, and was spat back out in a flood of "juice" so hard he smacked against a wall and nearly got knocked out. So, I'm thinking if you were trapped inside you'd need to get BUSY, and...

What did you have in mind?

Well, for starters, it has somewhat to do with the true self, the imagined self and the self out of necessity. I could go into what I mean more thoroughly.... well, I will a little just for the sake of explination.

Second-generation Angels (let's call them, uhm... "Sega" for simplicity's sake), or some of them, have the uncanny ability to change from their form of rejecting human form ("true self"), to a much more hominid form ("imagined self"), at will. It may sound complex and maybe a little... off-kilter, but to the Sega, it's second nature and something they're usually taught to use soon after being "hatched" from the mandorla.

Of course, then from this, also comes another form, created to be pleasing to whatever sentience exists on the world they coose to inhabit more exclusively, or, ah, er, the world they're... sent to put down. If that last bit sounds like the workings via rookie mistake, well, you'd be correct. The first concepts started out before I understood how things work the way I do now. I've adapted around this to being the results of something a bit more... sinister in the Sega's history, kind of in a stange allegory of the convulusion of religion throughout he passing of time. But, ah, back to the subject at hand! Darned tangents!

This would be the "self out of necessity". Hmm, let's set an example of this. What could make several examples at once... Mobius! A fine choice for this. For anyone "in the know" on Mobius, you'll see what I could be getting at. But for the unknowledged, Mobius has a strange mix of sentient life. The main two factions are humans, and anthropomorphic animals. Both evolved seperately, which seems to sound veeery familiar. But let's not go off on that (yet). A Mobian Sega, for example, could make a necessary self that would look like a human, or a furre. The catch to the necessary self is that once a Sega chooses it, they have it forever, and cannot choose another. They can still, however change back into the true self.

That's most of the basics, there. Take the time to mull, blink in disbeleif, wince, or laugh, if not several at once or one after the other in any order.

Oh, my, look at the time! I've got that academic suspension appeal hearing in an hour and a half! Must get ready, yes. I'll respond to everything else when I get back. :)

I'd be only slightly insulted if I didn't think that were true. Yes, I do suffer from OCSD to an extent. Hehe. Mobius was the first example that came to my mind that has 2+ forms of intelligent, sentient life, so I'd naturally use it, OCSD or no. Maybe I'll give Hikaru no Go a try, though.

I could probably also have called these Angels the Segen, but hey, 1 less letter to type and it adds up. :D

And the appeal hearing (even if you don't want to know or care)? I was smooth. Smooth as sandpaper. But, I have a feeling it could go either way.

Our ideas on the new generation. XD

Sera? Is that kind of like Sarai? :chortle:

Sera's a short name for Seraphim, one of me Angels.... actually, the first one I created, in fact (no wonder her name stinks!). Her "rejection" form is kind of spiny and draconic, and the shape of her head is similar to Alchab's, along with the alike two pairs of eyes.

 Well, plain, in what way? Being pale as a ghost?

Exactly that. :) Heh, I have had this strange theory that the reason She glows is because Her skin is completely bioluminescent. XD

You mean the thing in the OP with the ludicrously spindly torso and a strangely undefined head?

Well, I mean the Evas (excluding Her Magnificence Yui-sama, of course...or is that the other way around? Dah...). Also, you know how anime takes off quite a few pounds! Hur hur!

Well, certainly not ALL. I scan in whatever is relevant to discussion, as some of it is quite useful. Some of it is just interesting if you're ... interested in the animation process and the work that goes into it. Which I am.

Are the movie volumes worth the cash?

Depends on how much you're getting them for. I musta spent at least $100 on the two of them, but I couldn't help it... I was having a total eyegasm at Kinokuniya that wouldn't stop. Either that, or I was staring at the key frame drawings for the Ravaging, horrified and fascinated at the same time. I'll be adding some of the useful selections to the FGC archives ("supplemental images") whenever. You can wait and see if they're to your liking before you buy.

^ Dr. RobotNick concludes that you're suffering from a severe case of OCSD (obsessive-compulsive Sonic disorder) and prescribes some Hikaru no Go.

How will "Hikari no go" help matters?

FGC OMAKE SUGGESTION: The best and Worst of Go Hikari, executed in Fashion SWAT style, with additional new off-the-wall comments. Am I right, men?

:looks inside her pants, just to be sure:

Actually, that would be an awesome thing to do once (if...) the FGC forum is set up. If you feel so inclined, you can scour the thread for a crop to start us off (all selected images will be archived at FGC, so broken image links are no problem so long as we know what the image WAS) and isolate what you deem to be worthwhile comments. Anybody who wants to can see what you picked and chip in their own suggestions. Then, Reichu will start the official omake thread at the Promised Time.

Fashion Swat is awesome. I need to read more of it, but I almost lost my arse laughing at the video game fashions one.

@@Z Metalla: A lot of that sounds similar to ideas I developed for BES, only you use different terms for things. Let me splurge a little. Anyone who is bored by theoretical fan-stuff, please go on to the next post. :P

In BES, I've modified some of the "finer" details of the show. The Adanoko's -- or Apostles/Limmudim in BES -- origins are rather different from the anime, but we still have the theme of rejecting the Native Image (the form dictated by DNA) in favor of a personalized Derived Image. It's not entirely certain why they do this while their mother, Adam, does not. (The Evas -- ignoring the harpies for now -- didn't because they lacked souls at the time of the Quickening.) However, this leaning seems to be connected in some way to a myriad of similar angelic entities (who exist beyond the bounds of the universe NGE occured within). Very nearly the same, on a biological level; they would be genetically compatible if not for the strange fact that they are unable to manifest sex organs, even though their souls are "aligned" on a male-female continuum. More to the point, these Edenic angels (from Eden, duh) start, likewise, as humanoid -- the form I call "El'adam", butchered Hebrew for God-Human -- and grow within the mandorla until mid-adolescence. Then, like the Adanoko, they Quicken -- stir into full consciousness, upon which they "reject" human form -- and break free. The form chosen is the Derived Image. It's not fully understood how this image is produced, but it seems to represent, in some way, that person's deepest self. Kind of like you were saying in your own take, all El'adam are capable of Shifting (yes, in caps) back to their Native Image, although as a general rule they feel "uncomfortable" and "vulnerable" in their true bodies. However, those who seek out the symbolic Fruit of Knowledge (which can be acquired by them, however difficultly) will, for some reason, find themselves more and more able to accept their true selves; the Imagined Self (as you put it) becomes less and less necessary.

Also similar to your own ideas, usually one Derived Image is the most one individual can manifest -- unless they're somebody like Armisael and part of their nature is such changeability. (There are also unusual circumstances such as Lilith's; she has four distinct Images in BES.)

When the Evas, ahem, "mingle" with the Apostles and Edenic Angels, the mechanics of Native and Derived Image become extremely convoluted in the resultant offspring (Yaliyd; "iy" is like a long "e")... They are actually something I developed to "justify" my Yaliyd design concepts: I wanted, say, the son of Kyoko & Sachiel to look like a hybrid of the father (Derived Image) and mother (who only has Native). There was no solution for this on a genetic level, since Sachiel and the others are genetically predisposed to be "El'adam". I finally found the solution when I stumbled into the realm of MPB, and everything started to fit together. It was totally awesome, and then previously incomprehensible and nonsensical things in NGE began to make some kind of strange sense.

At any rate, I already posted the 7th Yaliyd, Alchab -- whose design is unrefined as hell. If you want to see the concepts for some of the others, let me know...

I find this Image stuff to be fascinating. Ultimately, in the story, it has thematic applications to every one of us, however strange that might sound. It might be there in NGE, somewhere, deeply hidden, but I plan on making it one of the axiss theme in BES.

Sorry about taking so long, heh. :P

Most of the theories and observations I've put forth have received barely any confirmation -- some comments from ANF newcomers, nitpicks from OMF, and little else. (The Yui-Kyoko thread isn't doing too bad, tho.) A lot of my so-called "revelations" (a horribly pretentious term, in retrospect) involves fresh (AFAIK) takes on things that have been debated for years, so the lack of input from the people who have been around here longer is especially baffling. And discouraging.

Yep, I have no qualms about making my insecurities public. Why not?

And, umm, about the Gainax covers, is there any way to upload them as well? Or would that be against site policy?

Whose site?

If you don't mind waiting, I'd like to organize them a bit and include the artist names and whatever else seems appropriate. It'd be rather appropriate for an omake feature.

For my part, it's because just saying "Yes, that sounds reasonable." isn't as much fun as arguing about the red-headed step-child. When I don't have anything significant to challenge or amplify that I could say, I stay shut up, to reduce spammage.

Words of encouragement to keep Reichu's spirits up are not spam in my book, though they don't advance the state of the art very much. It's just cheering from the sidelines on my part.

Debating the stuff has never been my strong point unless it directly involved the harpies and/or some select Angels (Bardiel being one of the primary ones). Other than that, commentating and being the general Meister des Rieözahnkis is my job. Also, to be honest, I REALLY wanted to read all of your revelations and whatnot, but I honestly haven't had the time and on top of that lost track of what I've read because you posted so many threads at once. =P

Lovely, headless evas, legless, evas, armless evas....thanks for posting that...I think...yuk

Correct, the harpies are beautiful no matter what state they're in. I particularly am fond of my dear EVA-10 (needle gun! needle gun!). :P

Once they get their nasty Rei faces, the rules change a little. (Altho it's not QUITE "reattachment".)

Those Rei faces are MUCH less kawaii than my pretty harpy heads. I'll still take them over nothing, though (of course, if I harpy has a mangled harpy head that's barely there, that would be taken over it, despite technically being nothing. Lollers at technicalities).

And your venturing-into-guro-territory attraction to the harpies is one place the biggest fan of the Evangelion form (REAL Evas, not Keel's "customized" ones) simply will not go, despite all the other places she has been. :P (There are perhaps about two instances in BES wherein mild violence and eroticism are mingled, but that's because I love torturing Kyoko and her son.)

You haven't been following this thread very closely, eh? She's a main character of my ambitious spin-off "Beyond Eden's Shores" and, at a point in the story when Sachiel has Shifted into his true, humanoid form, the two engage in Misato/Kaji-style marathon sex for some indeterminate period of time. (For completely different reasons. I think...) Too bad birth control wasn't available.

I'll post designs of the kid -- Azrael -- later. His childhood is at least as fscked-up as Asuka's, and he becomes a very confused young adult. Part of the reason why the Alchab guy I introduced earlier came to be...

Hey, I figure I might as well put these designs I am/will be unveiling into context. :P

The fanfic isn't finished yet. It's very ambitious, like I said, and I've been universe-building since... at least 2001. It's getting there, but there is still a ways to go before I can start churning out the actual product.

Hehehe. The former is very true. -_-;

I swear I'm not up to guro. That stuff is sick. But a bloody harpy head with needles in it is hawt. Wait a minute, maybe I am. Dismemberment. Muscle. Blood. Needles. Brains. Other random organs and placement of key terms. This all equals awesomeness. :P Even so, I don't see why it's so hard to get into (at least, when the harpies aren't involved in some massively wonderful orgy. Lollers, I said orgy). If it was used in sexual connotations, that's just icky. This coming from the one who decides he likes EVA-10 because she has needles shoved through her bloodied maw. -_-;

Actually, imo that Rei doesn't look fat even for many anime girls(well, maybe from the 80's style or in Rumiko style. -_-; ) depending on the character design, it just appears so I guess because of the way the lines were manipulated to form the speed of the punch(twisty body^^; ), and also seem to give ephasis on the hips, but her torso's almost the same width as regular Rei(Asuka's being hit back so they lines aren't needed as much, but then again her proportion's a bit weird there)
That Rei's head also looks like Nadia. ;;p

Hikaru no Go will make you understand that puny videogames are no match for the awesome power of Go!
Is that the general reason for the lack of response, I wonder?
Dude, I'm working on it, okay? ;) I spent this night tackling MPB, and I'll try to get the Akira-Kaworu theory processed as fast as I can. (BTW, you got the last batch of the old subrips, right?)

I don't know in the manga its said that they really don't know if she's really female, or even a singular being...ambiguity is hawt!
She's 100% female in the nutSAC universe, and that's all that matters to me. And since you brought out the Keel-Kusanagi pairing in an another thread, yeah, I could try to incorporate that into my laughable crossover. MUSES GO!

Okay, so the good guys have found out that Seele's HQ is located in Berlin, and the Section 9 guys of course try to infiltrate the place. Motoko decides to use her trademark seduction tactic that worked so well against those corrupt Japanese politicians (2nd Gig ep. 03), but the first attempt backfires in the most embarassing way possible when during the banquet Keel flat-out states that he's not interested in women. Reasonably furious, Motoko first kicks Ishikawa in the knee for providing inaccurate background information. Then she traps Batou inside of his cyberbrain, remote-controls his body and goes back to hit on Keel. This time Keel tells her that he's only interested in bishounen. To Batou's great relief, Motoko leaves his head and dumps him in the woods. The other male members of Section 9 are mostly amused, but just to be sure they switch their brains to offline mode.

Now Motoko hijacks Proto's body, but when she once again returns to Keel's mansion she finds out the old cultist already has company... and ZOMG! Keel's new boy toy is no other person than the world-famous anti-corporate terrorist Angel Wing, sporting his latest custom-made body...

What? Do you want me to continue?

Hehehe, don't forget Dr. Nick's ungodly and disturbing fanfic of cyborg s3x0rs! Whoohoo, you'd know that Motoko, if you've read the manga (which you should, its kickass) is more into chicks than guys (though she plays on both teams so to speak), Keel is arguebly gay or bi himself...this has many disturbing possibilities. Yay for creepy fanfiction!

Reichu

Wait... Exactly how HAVE we determined that Keel is gay, anyway? How does the Keel no Miko justify it? [EDIT: Wow, you made that your user title! I blush like a schoolgirl! :teehee: )

Not that I doubt it myself. I still have faith in my disturbingly saucy behind-the-scenes scenario, since it fits SO damnably well, even if those who do not like the thought of Keel doing ... you know... to Misato's hawt dad will flagellate me for it. Although Keel apparently hated Akira with a passion, so can the (possible) fact that he was, uh, you-know-ing the guy (since Akira was so TOTALLY the femme in that relationship) qualify Keel as properly gay? Are you gay if the only known example of gay behavior on your part is something you only did because you are a manipulative, uber-religious curmudgeon?

Well, we still don't know what he and Kaworu might have been up to. Is it pederasty if the kid is billions of years old in spirit?

In any case, Keel not being gay feels ... wrong. (For an example, I can produce a horrible doujinshi where he, Vlad, and one of the others triple-team Maya. ) But it _would_ be wrong if he were gay with his four pals. Seele orgies. Now THERE'S a horrible thought.

I don't know who "Fritz" is and I don't think I want to know. Besides I would think Keel might very well be married, it seems SEELE may pass its position along family lines, for example Yui inherited her position from her father. But what on earth would his kids look like? Hopefully not like him.
On a semi-related note, about the discussion on what kind of disease he might have contracted/been born with we all over-looked a rather obvious and nasty one: cancer. Once it metastasizes it can be nearly impossible to root out, however the brain is often (but not always) safe from cancer due to its tight and highly effective blood brain-barrier.

The names given to the commitee members beyond Keel (who is the German one) are ones the FGC folks made up. The red wone is the Brit, yellow is the Frenchie, Blue is the Russian, and Green is the American. There should be more on the fannon names in the Adam's Embryo thread (don't ask me why we stuck it there). If you want to know about poor Fritz ask Reichu, its kind of disturbing.

I'm planning to buy a modded PS2 eventually, though, but that's going to take a while. All I can do right now is to drool at Alpha 3 gameplay videos. And invent my own sick crossovers.

Dare I ask why Big O, a Tachikoma (manga style) and Eva unit 01 are doing on the same screen shot?
There's no Big O or Tachikoma there... But as usual, Wikipedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Super_Robot_Wars) can probably answer most of your questions.

Anyway, since I have seen virtually no mecha anime, the only thing in that screenshot I can understand is what Shinji is saying, even though I have _no_ idea what "GAOFAIGA-" is. Doesn't sound like a German dessert, at any rate. "Baum...ku...chen..."
GaoGaiGar (http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/encyclopedia/anime.php?id=1170). Supposedly a pretty good (read: totally over-the-top) modern super robot series. The joke here is based on its theme song:

At one point in the game, Gaofaigar makes a dramatic appearance much to everyones surprise. Shinji stammers its name, and it sounds slightly like the Gaogaigar opening. Its just a joke they put in.

I meant how many internets you had won, Nick.
In fact, I haven't received any of those official coupons... But it doesn't matter. I own my default internets and it's working just fine, so I really have no use for extra internetses. (BTW, who was the bastard who pluralized that word? Al Gore?)

As for SRW games, I own three (J, OG, OG2, all GBA games).

That's what it says in my post. And now, to counter all this yaoi running rampant, I present you something that tv33 could write a fanfic about:

Ah. I dunno if he pluralized it, but he did invent it! [/my gawd I need to smack that man]

As for the GBA games, I can toss you a link to find some emulated versions, but that's kinda sketchy (read: illegal) if you don't own them. Yeah...

Actually, IIRC that wasn't his actual comment, it was a fabrication of a "related" comment with the words slightly reworked and taken way out of context by his opposition...I think there was an item on Snopes about it. Not that I like Al Gore, or any politician for that matter, but I'm surprised at how many people still haven't heard anything to the contrary by this point.

As for whoever coined the pluralization, my bet's on Quayle. :P

EVA-04. EVA-R would just be the most overexposed fanfiction ever. (AFAIK)

I hated Eva-R, at first I thought it was interesting, but half-way through I wanted to kill the author(s). A six-eyed eva was featured...six eyes? The hell?

More geneticists gone mad? Which country was she supposed to have originated in? The Germans, at least, are crazy. Kyoko's indigo-blooded freak. And, well, just look at Keel's Pretty Little Babies... I have NO idea what sorts of horrors they did to the Eva genome to create your faves. NO idea.

But, yeah. Save the six eyes for the arthropods. 'Cuz Evas don't need 'em.

And of course they just had to make Keel an angel.

Actually, you can't really trust the Kubricks... They got EVA-02's under-armor coloring wrong. They probably just made up something for Keel-chen. (-chen = German version of -chan. Sort of.)

Well I wondered if the red eyes could be a sign of some kind of eye disease that might have caused his blindness. Speaking of the Kubricks, I just got my Harpie and Kaworu, and won my bid on the only other set I wanted, the one with Rei and Lilith. Unfortunately it came with two other sets I don't want and plan to sell, with good reason I won the sets for 41 bucks plus shipping. So I've got to attempt to get rid of a stupid unit-02 and a non-eva set on ebay somehow. My dad tells me I shouldn't gamble.

I'll have to look at that in a bit. But, first...

Here is a brief exercise wherein I try out something new with the animated GIF, a direction Dr. Nick has apparently been trying to get me to go for a while by passing along those silly 4-chan things about ninja wizards and the like. A little idiocy and vengeful sardonicism to get Reichu going, and let's see what sort of monster emerges:

http://www.evacommentary.org/images_capdoc/reichu_devil-herself.gif

BTW, that katakana at the end is a stereotypical "evil/mischievous woman laugh". "OOOOO-HO-HO-HO-HO!!!" Kodachi and Nanami, e.g.

That's just the first step! Whenever inspiration takes hold, we can expect to see such wonders as "Beavis and Butt-head Do Evangelion" and "Zero Wing vs. NGE: The Way it Was MEANT To Be". (Unless animated GIFs end up being simply unfeasible for either or both. We'll see. Later.)

Oh, that's not the same thing. "Zero Wing" has carved itself deeply into my grey matter. It comes out when I least expect it. I needed to use Maya to make it go away. Clever, huh?

Dr. Nick and I have been planning a shameless EoE/Zero Wing crossover for a while -- we collaborate on the concept, and I do the execution. Eva Park already did one, but this will be better. Or... different, I should say. But don't hold your breath. It will happen when the time is right.

And "B&B Do Evangelion" will happen whenever I have sufficient digital sources to put it together. It is really idiotic (fittingly enough...), but it needs to be done. If that Mike Judge would just release the show in season box sets, I'd have no hesitations about forking over my damn money. But nooo-ooo...

For the uninitiated:
How do I shot web -- Phrase started by Natural Selection players; in NS, one of the alien races can actually shoot webs as a weapon. One day, some goons were playing NS when a lot of newbies and clueless people were on the server, and "how do i shot web" was one of the questions that kept coming up. Someone took a screenshot, posted it to FYAD, and it went from there. Most commonly seen on /b/ as an image macro, featuring Spider-Man holding out his arms in an "I dunno..." gesture; this later inspired a series of shopped images, including one with a Japanese newscaster holding out his arms in the same gesture (along with Spider-Man and a number of anime characters), and a meme where a picture of a falling person is shopped to say "Hey Spider-Man, how do I shot web?" (with Spider-Man replying "dunno, lol")

From Wikiworld

I'm in ur base killin ur d00ds

Originated on battle.net. In the Games forum, someone posted a thread about a Warcraft 3 game (this was shortly after the release of WC3, when it was still a very hot topic) in which he had totally owned some poor b.net sod. There was a screenshot of the goon saying "where are you?" and the b.net guy replying "im in ur base, killin ur doodz".

It has been photoshopped to countless images, changing the text to meet the situation of the image. Such as a picture of an obnoxious looking teen with the caption "im on ur cell phone, wastin ur minutes".

If you go to the site that pic came from originally, you'll find plenty of stuff a lot more disturbing than that, with all sorts extremely degrading hentai featuring Asuka and Hikari (and her sisters too). BTW, that pic is too big for the forum's format, try ImageShack (http://imageshack.us/) with their thumbnail link feature for pics that size...

Last seen on page 43 (http://www.animenation.net/forums/showthread.php?t=130908&page=43&pp=15#post4726576), in the context of ill-assorted pairings and the idea that pick any two characters, and you'll find someone expressing an interest. Admittedly, I've only seen interest in Gendo/Misato in my web-server log.

BTW - I see that the ANF banner has now rotated to gothic-loli Asuka... No wonder you get fan art like the ones from the related series that don't get posted here.

(1) My aesthetic fascination is centered around restoring the Evas to their native state. Ergo, no cyborgs.

Nerv HQ is a pyramid. You normally find "mummies" in a pyramid. The word "mummy" is also phonetically similar to "Mommy". There is a "mommy" in Eva-02, and Adam is Kaworu's "mommy". Lilith is everyone's "mommy", in a way. It's kinda funny in a 4Chan sort of way.

So, Keel and Angel Wing are about to start performing asymmetrical docking maneuvers, and Motoko is spying them through a keyhole, boiling with anger as you might guess. I'll spare you (and myself) from the details - after all, this is supposed to be a PS2-game, so nothing could be shown even if the animators wanted to. Therefore, fast-forward to the next scene:

(Exhausted, the two men lay between the sheets, Keel smoking a huge Cuban cigar.)
Angel Wing: "I didn't know you smoked."
Keel: "I only smoke after this sort of thing."
Angel Wing: "I bet it was lung cancer that destroyed your original body."
Keel: "How did you know?"
Angel Wing: "Oh, Jesus tapdancing Christ -"

You may wonder, why on earth is a guy like Angel Wing doing something like this, because obviously there are no feelings of amore involved in this affair. But remember Angel Wing's daughter? Not only is the poor girl wheelchair-bound but also blind! I don't remember if the reason for her condition was explained in the show, but for the purposes of cruel parallelism I'm going to say she's suffering from a similar type of cancer that also ravaged Keel's once-so-handsome chassis.

Of course, a simple cyborgization operation could easily give the daughter back her eyesight and her ability to walk. Her papa, however, wasn't very fond of the idea: to him cyborg implants represent the evil he's been fighting against all these years, the intrusion of almighty capitalism into the most intimate areas of people's lives (that's part of the reason why he shoves his own previous bodies into a woodchipper once they've served their usefulness).

Keel, on the other hand, needed a new, deadly pawn he could use to wreak havoc among his ideological enemies, the money-worshipping leaders of the NWO. Through his contacts in German cyborg underworld, Keel tracked Angel Wing down and pulled his usual routine of extortion, seduction and empty promises: "You run some errands for me, and I'll see what my biotechnology experts can do to help your cute little daughter. You're in a war against these guys anyway, so what do you have to lose? Besides, when was the last time you got some?" And the rest is yaoi history.

Hey Sharp, why does the forum software prevent me from posting more than three paragraphs at a time? Is there some secret yaoi-filter at work here?

Anyway, back to the present moment: Motoko finally grows tired of spying the two because it doesn't seem likely she's going to find out any incriminating details about Keel's businesses just by listening to their pillow talk. But as soon as she kicks in the bedroom door the whole building starts to shake violently. It appears the NWO has also found out Keel's home address (Mana is their spy, you see), and they've sent Gates, Neo and Tokita to get rid of him and the player's Super Robot Team once and for all.

Tokita: "Muahaha haa! You may have defeated me last time, but your good luck ends here. Your miserable circus troupe is no match for the mighty WATER GUN of my Shin Jet Alone Mark VIII!"
Gates: "Screw you, Tokita! I'm going to set some civilians on fire! Woowee~!"
Neo: "I have a bad feeling about this..."

There's definitely something not right about their proportions in that picture. Human anatomy just doesn't look like that, not even in anime. Actually, light just dawned on me - it's not the anatomy so much as it is the way the artist has draw the plugsuits. They really aren't cut like that. The reasons why not should be obvious.

Dude, it's not just that. Real women's clothing, incuding the plugsuit, does not completely surround the breast so that it hangs outside the main part of the clothing. No, real clothing sort of skims over it, with the fabric darted at the side to emphasize the shape. The cut is all wrong.

Travis Bickle is from the Martin Sorcrase film Taxi Driver. It centres around a Vietnam soldier who develops problems and seeks to gun down the wrong in New York. One of the things it is perhaps best known as is the scene where Bickle acts all paranoid in the mirror, going "you talking to me?" and whipping out the gun the same cool way Rally Vincent does.

Here you have what more than likely inspired the instrumentality project (coupled of course with Keel's inability to read braille very well, hence the SDSS turned out to just me children's braille readers), the idea to harness the angel's powers as EVA's ,and the brilliant idea to give EVA 00 only one eye.

See here for more details on the pot issue, I wrote this little blurb yesterday.

Since this is sort of a picture thread I'll post this here.
Warning: This will pollute your mind.

Here is Pierre, he looks very....feminine. He has Ritsuko's hair cut even.

Naoko says that Ritsuko didn't grow up with a father....maybe this is him.

or

Maybe Ritsuko wasn't Ritsuko, she was a he! Working under cover for SEELE!

Bwahaha

The idea of Naoko getting it on with Old Frenchie is an even more horrible thought than her riding Gendo. (Which she probably did at least 75% of the time, if my calculations are correct.)

Also, a man's appearance is no reliable sign of his sexuality. For example, hard-core transvestites can still love their wimmins, and totally beautiful men can still be, well, "MEN!!!". (Whatever the hell that's supposed to mean.) Sexuality is damned more flexible than it is often given credit for being. Shades of grey, baby. Shades of grey.

Akira "Agreed. I found that out the hard way. I'm sorry, Sayaka. Misato-chan..."

Just look at Vega. As soon as you see him you think he's got to be gay, but no. He goes after Chun Li, among various other women.

Why exactly did you choose the name "Sayaka" for Misato's mother? Were you thinking of Mazinger-Z? :P

But than again this is anime, and I said he could be a transvestite before, and he could still be Ritsuko's daddy. But if appearance doesn't mean anything than what about the Akira-Kaworu connection? Or the Kaji/Kaworu connection, those are based largely on appearance (though the former does have a little more than appearnce to it). I kind of find the idea humorous myself. Appearance may be nothing but we all know how romantic the French language can be...

The resemblane is striking. However, are the SEELE committee even in Japan? I thought they were all in their own countries, hence the holographs.

Nope. Sayaka was the name of my Japanese teacher at college. (Kawabata Sayaka.) I really like the name -- a refreshing change from those -ko names you usually hear -- so when Magami and I were brainstorming, waaaaay back, it was the first thing to come to mind. I think it sounds really nice. "Katsuragi Sayaka".

Who said they can't have a long-distance relationship, I mean the Frenchie and Naoko probably both traveled on business, after all Naoko built the original MAGI and every Nerv base had one, and there was a NERV base in France if my memory is correct. Besides Ritsuko's daddy was and absent father.

The Seele guys weren't always hanging out in their respective countries. Keel was hanging out in Japan and Antarctica at various points, and we have that photo where he's with Nigel and Pierre. They Seele Guys presumably have gathered at their mysterious Dead Sea base (being the religious zealots that they are) in lieu with the decryption of the SDSS, as well. They've clearly partied together a lot, in any case. Probably done a lot of strange religious crap with their anonymous buddies, too.

But if appearance doesn't mean anything than what about the Akira-Kaworu connection? Or the Kaji/Kaworu connection, those are based largely on appearance (though the former does have a little more than appearnce to it).

Yeah, the appearance thing is only part of a much larger picture thar...

Thank ye. But, incidentally, that's the one that took the bare minimum of creativity, even though the end result is more "impressive". (Take screenshots. Run screenshots through custom optimization filter. Dump into ImageReady. Resize, sharpen. Put in order. Get the timing okay. Voila.) Doctoring and captioning images, and doing animated GIFs where I really go nutty manipulating the frames (like the "Kernficken" harpy), are where the REAL satisfaction is derived, and the mark of teh Reichu can truly be left... ;) Although making funny GIFs is fun no matter what.

And the two EVA-00 pics were labors of love. However demented. You can't doctor those faces -- you actually have to draw them. (DRAW? On the computer? NOOOOooooOOO!)

Long distance relationships? Rarely work out. Ask around.

Sayaka was the name of my Japanese teacher at college.
It's also the name of the pilot of Aphrodite-A, one of the two sidekicks of the Mazinger-Z pilot Kouji Kabuto.

Obviously it didn't work out, thus whoever Ritusko's daddy was he wasn't around for her as a child or adult. I don't think Naoko was the greatest relationship builder in the whole wide world, and her daughter definetly wasn't much better. If it wasn't the Frenchie maybe it was....

http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y181/sefisher/NGE/SEELE/The%20Commitee%20and%20Yui/vlad1.jpg

Just kidding, not even Naoko is that desperate for affection. Poor Vlad is so ugly his mother probably didn't love him, I mean you spend nine months with a "bun in the oven" and Vlad is what you get for all your time and effort? Maybe he's the result of some bizzarre Soviet expiramentation involving radiation and babies or something. Might explain why he's only about four feet ten inches tall.

Seele08, you need more than the five main Seele guys to play around with. How about fanonizing the dudes behind the other monoliths, and the religious cult expands! (I forget which numbers Vlad, Teddy, Pierre, and Nigel are. Don't know if the dub gets it right, either. Will have to check sometime.) That means making Sadamoto-esque designs, pulling out the ship names, blah blah blah.... You'd have at least one Japanese one and one Chinese one. Dunno if any other countries actually matter in that world.

Actually, Hikari doesn't seem like the "pilot" type for me. Making this giant person containing the soul of her mom run around, butchering innocent Angels? Shinji does it because... yeah. Asuka does it because... yeah. Rei does it because... yeah. Toji did it for his sister. Why the hell would Hikari do it?

Mr. Tines

Why the hell would Hikari do it?

“Because I was asked, and because I can.” — appeal to her Class Rep sense of responsibility, and you probably have enough leverage there.

Of course there's always the shoujo-ai fantasy reasoning — “So Asuka will notice me.”

Hikari does it for Pen-Pen. She fights to save mankind for the sake of a penguin! That or she does it so she can get a good look at Toji in the pilot changing rooms. Either way it works.

In the manga the numbers are different than the anime/movie (which jump around).
The Brit is 04, the Frenchie is 06, the American is 09, and the Commie is 11.

Dunno if any other countries actually matter in that world.

Oh Canada!

Was again looking at the commitee, and found another possible donor for Kaworu's genes. And he's not necesarily dead either...

Behold Commitee man D, Nigel the Briton!

Look at the long jaw, the wide mouth, the rather feminine eyes, and a decent haircut that many of the men of EVA lack, especially the commitee! Seriously how can the most powerful men in the world and woman (Yui) Have such bad hair cuts? The Ruskie's is extremely ragged and long, Yui's is ragged and randomly cut, Keel's hair looks like he clipped it with his visor turned off, and the Frenchie has a woman's haircut. I dub this the Donald Trump effect, lots of money, bad hair.

ok, talking about Seele, notice that in most of the Seele room scenes there are twelve monoliths, when we see people as in Ep.2 there are six people, Gendo, Keel, and four members. but when we see Kaworu standing above the lake, there are sixteen monoliths. just how many members are there, where are they from, and who are they.

I think those 6 people (Note that Gendo was one of the 6) were refered to as "The Committee" (UN related?), when we actually see the monoliths, it's Seele (I vaguely remember a distinction being made where whoever that said it, Fuyutski I think, corrected himself, something along the lines of: "blah blah the committee, oh, it's Seele this time"). The 15 monoliths during ep24' was talked about here http://animenation.net/forums/showthread.php?t=185630

I could be wrong about the committee/seele thing. Seems the script sometimes has them labeled as "Seele #" and other times labeled as "Committee A/B/C/D". And I can't find the line I was refering to. Closest thing I could find was: "Ryoji: Oh dear! These developments were unexpected, weren't they? For the Committee... er, Seele, how will you explain?", which wasn't what I was thinking of.

Seele08

The commitee is a subset of SEELE, there are a total of twelve members, the extra monoliths were a continuety error, we always see 12 monoliths in the movie and every other episode they are present.

Gendo isn't part of the Human Instrumentality Committee. It's just the five. He's a random toadie. Albeit a rather important one.

When they appear as the Committee they are Committeeman A/B/C/D. Otherwise they're just numbers (or "Man" this or that; depends on the episode). But to us, they are Pierre Bretagne, Vladimir Kaganovich, Theodore "Teddy" Cassin, and Nigel Laforey (and a bunch of faceless nobodies).

And I like Yui's haircut, too. But I prefer her with no hair. The "flaming hair" scares me, too. Evas should be bald, period.

and Belgium just so Keel/Germany can have someone besides France to pick on every now and then, besides the Frenchie and the Brit are probably still to busy argueing over the inanity that was the middle ages, and the Hundred Year's War (probably why they set so far apart, everyone got sick of it). Same goes for the American and the Commie, who wants a reenactment of the Cold War every time they try to have a meeting? Anno and company really missed out on a number of great geo-politcal jokes that could have been made with those guys.
