I remember This (http://animenation.net/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=117297&highlight=Gendo) old thread. I guess it turns out most people seem themselves as Shinji. Though I would imagine that is because the other characters, like Rei, Gendo,and Ritsuko are too out of the norm. And most of the members being male, they probably have a hard time seeing themselves as Auska, or Misato, especially because of their distinctive feminine roles. That just about leaves Shinji. He being the main characters he also gets the most screen time, and characterization, giving us more time to see ourselves in him.

I think I am Gendo like in many ways (with a sprinkling of Shinji of course;)). Now all I need is to find a Yui, have her "die" and then be driven with the gaol of getting her back. No matter the cost.

not surprisingly, I found myself to be gendo. Sorry im too lazy to post what it says. Its kinda hard though, cause some of that stuff I'd have taken more than 1 answer to. I chose what was most important I guess, but in some cases I wasnt sure.

As I said, because there were so many times where i would have wanted to choose more than 1 answer, i retook the quiz taking all of my second choicers, and I got shinji. So I'd say correctly I'm somewhere in between gendo and shinji. Not to sound like a self-absorbed ***, but that'd be one interesting character :)

In that other test I got fuyutsuki. It isn't that surprising in my opinion. Intellectually/phillisophically I am more like a gendo/shinji combo, but emotionally/socially I'm probably more like Fuyutsuki. The tests are testing for different things, but I think taking both of them is probably the best choice.

Yes, and thanks for posting it! The whole psychological-ness of that quiz is very good, since most of those kinds of quizes not only use generic series based questions, but also accept generic, unthoughtful representations of what a character's personality is actually like. As for my results, it said I was most like Shinji (& 87% compatible) which I'm happy about since I think Rei & Shinji would do quite well together. It's not 100% but I figure you have got to have differences in a few specific areas to make it work out the best.

Toji and Ritsuko? That proves this test is BS. Of all the characters that you can get, as the result of the test, I would have said that they are the two who you are least like. I got Shinji. I mean, come on! Anyone who knows me would say that I am diametrically opposed to Shinji in most aspects of my personality. It's generally my policy to keep myself open, and not deliberately push others away.

Personally I don't think that Asuka and Rei are incompatible because they have completely different personalities. Asuka is logical, she is shown to be very intelligent, she's been to college and can speak multiple languages. Her actions are usually thought through before they are carried out. Personally I think Shinji is way more emotional than Asuka. Asuka is also very introvert, she doesn't tell anyone what she's really feeling, and what she tells people is all just a show. In my opinion she's to an extent of how Rei feels no need to put on a show. I also think that Asuka is pretty abstract, she's just as into seeing things as from multiple perspectives as Rei is, for example look at her just after the mind rape ep. Personally when it comes to matching personalities I think Shinji is much further from Rei's than Asuka. Shinji see's everything as it is, that's why he cannot understand either asuka or rei. He does tell people about his true feelings and he asks for help, something neither Asuka or Rei would do.
