Your best Anime DVD moment?

Just as the titles says. I'm not talking about anime moments, but rather, moments about buying anime DVD's!! My special moment came in November when I got the final volume of Cardcaptor Sakura as well as the second movie. After having been collecting CCS since the first volume came out in 2000; I felt so happy in that moment when I finally knew I had collected all of CCS. :crush:

My best and worst were with the same set: Sailor Moon

Best: When I got it and got that exciting, nostalgic feeling.

Worst: When I find out it had two disc 8s and no disc 7 -_-;

when i was given Cowboy Bebop DVD (all the eps.) i was sooo hyper after that -o-; and was v. happy when i was given some Studio Ghibli movies^_^

Everytime I get a new DVD I spend about 5 minutes just to huggle it, but I suppose my favorite moment was when I got my Infinite Ryvius volume 1 + Box after waiting over three weeks for it to get here from DDD. I don't think I've ever squealed that loudly with delight before^o^

Everytime I get a new dvd I feel good. But my favorite has to be when I got my first dvd back in 2001: Rurouni Kenshin vol. 1.

My best anime DVD moment was when I got the Maze box set for under $50. But another great moment was when I got the entire Ranma 1/2 series on DVD, it took a long time, but hurray!

My best DVD moment is when I finally finished with the first Utena DVD. I knew that I had just begun a wonderful series that I would become attached to. Of course the feeling of completing the series will overshadow that moment. :D

The later seasons suffer from mediocre storylines (i.e. Case of the Missing Takoyaki) but the animation got better. Completing Ranma ½ is my best moment because it was the first series I bought on DVD.

I had heard of argentsoma but I had yet to find it at sam goody (the only place in my old city that sold anime). Then one day I was looking around at wal mart of all places and they had it, for 16.99 even! I was very suprised at that moment.

I also got quite a rush when I finally got home with the last volume of rahxephon. It sucks when things just *have* to end.

My most recent best Anime DVD moment has to be when I got ahold of fansubs of Sailor Moon Sailor Stars. Before watching this, I had only seen up to the Sailor Moon Super S season, and had always looked forward to Sailor Stars. After watching this, it changed my views of the series. Just watching it from where it began to its ending, it has been quite a rewarding experience with just how much everyone had matured together. Considering Sailor Moon was what got me into anime fandom over 7 years ago, it was great to finally see closure to it. It sure has been quite a DVD moment to just get ahold of these discs!! I was so excited!! ^_^

It would definately have to be when I found out that AnimeNation had the Cardcaptor Sakura series on sale. I had missed out on the sell at RightStuf so, when I found out thay AN was selling it for 74.99, I was overjoyed. Hopefully, it will ship soon ^_^ .

My Best has to be getting the Complete Macross boxset for only 40 bucks, I'm actually greatful to ADV for that one, because the price dropped on the Animeigo set so they could clear out their stock to make room for the ADV one.

When I was first into anime, I was really excited about getting the first volume of Gravitation (with the pretty collector's artbox, too!) in the mail. The wait for the release date felt like forever. I was SO excited when I got it in the mail.
That brings back nice memories of when I first got into anime. ^_^

After waiting years for its release & watching crap quality fansubs for years. I finally got the Zeta Gundam limited box set, December of 2004. I waited for the UPS for many hours that day, by the time I got it I was already up for around 24 hours but I still managed to watch the first 30 episodes. Then right when I woke up I watched the remaining 20 episode. I was so absorbed into it.

My best moment was when I received all of the Sailor Moon Boxsets, and finding the CCS series for 74.99 I am still waiting for it with anticipation. It's on backorder.

My worst moment is when I found a vol.1 DVD of Eva in my vol.4 case.

Best moment? That would be when I finally picked up all the volumes of Zeta Gundam at Best Buy last April after waiting many years to see it. Now I eagerly await the rerelease of CCA as well as the licensing of ZZ.

When Hajime no Ippo volume 1 arrived in the mail. I found it hard to believe that the series was licensed and by Geneon of all companies up to the minute I held the case in my hand. It felt unrealistc. Another one was when I put box 8 of Maison Ikkoku on the rack and looked at the series in all it's glory COMPLETED.

Ditto. AYA is my favorite series probably, and is the most personally meaningful to me. I had the whole series in individual DVDs, but I was dying to get the box. I searched all over, with no luck, until a little while later I finally got one off of Amazon. It was a good price too (about $35, I think). So I simply sold my old one. Now the box sits full and proud on my shelf. I'm very happy and relieved to have it, since it's so hard to find, especially for a decent price.

My favourite dvd purchase moment was at the end of this summer. I had been saving up for when I went home so I could buy a bunch of stuff... so I walked up to the counter in HMV and piled a bunch of stuff on the counter. The cashier looked at me strangely and forced herself to say "Did you find everything you were looking for?". I wanted to laugh really bad. I walked out with about 300 dollars worth of stuff, but it was definitely my favorite dvd purchasing moment.

I should also add that my getting the Giant Robo Economy box as well as both OSTs for only $13 was an awesome steal. ^^

Great to see so many picking up CCS, that series deserves a lot more attention than it gets.
