Other than my yaoi manga, which are all in Japanese, everything else I read is in Chinese. That would include Gravitation, Yami no Matsuei, Rurouni Kenshin, Hellsing, Angel Sanctuary, Getbackers and E's. :dizzy:

EXACTLY what i was thinkin about the past few days! :D i translated the title of yami no matsuei to my friend and we laughed our *** off. "descendants of the dark" = "crush on the bad bad shinigami" :lol:

those companies can't translate titles! but what they translate in the book is correct.

hmm... I've heard some complains about that website as well... but that's probably the one with the most complete catalogue. Maybe you should give them a yell, 'cus the similar thing happened to me once (not with Bubble), and I found out they totally forgot my order.... -_-;

That's two different series. Saiyuki is exactly the same as its Japanese, but the other one..... that's one of the worst title I every known!! :complain:

Sounds Yaoi to me -o-; .

Speaking of which, Fruits Basket's translated name's pretty bad.

lol The chinese translated titles are soooo bizarre... Rurouni Kenshin becomes "Heavenly Sword roams the world"... heh... but I've always liked buying manga from Taiwanese publishers... coz of the good print & paper quality, and no censorship... Though I'm a native English speaker, I prefer reading manga either in Japanese/Chinese... somehow, the Chinese language sounds more natural & are much more accurate when translated from Japanese, as compared to English. :naughty:

Does anybody know of a chinese manga website that includes Japanese & chinese title/mangaka?

There probably won't be websites that have the full list of manga titles/mangaka in Japanese and Chinese, other than those dedicated to a certain series or mangaka... And, even if they do have both, they'll be in their kanji form, which for me I can understand them, but would have no idea how to speak them... -_-;

As for the chinese translation, I think it is because many terms in japanese were derived from chinese, or at least the words are from chinese, so a lot of the times the chinese publishers just keep the kanji, save for translations. lol I also find many culture references difficult to translate into english, or maybe any western languages, 'coz they just don't have the equivilent words~~ I'm really thankful that I can read chinese. :P

gravitation = wan you yin li (萬有引力)

Btw, you can start up a new thread, instead of bring up this 3-year-old thread from the grave. -_-;
