First Higurashi Rei OVA Scheduled

The official webpage for the Higurashi no Naku Koro ni Rei OVA series has updated with a confirmation that the first of five new OVAs will be released on Japanese standard & collector’s edition DVD on February 25, 2009, and Japanese Blu-ray disc on March 25, 2009.

The first OVA will adapt the “Hajisarashi-hen” storyline from the 2006 Higurashi no Naku Koro ni Rei Fan Disc supplement game. OVAs 2-4 will consist of “Saikoroshi-hen” parts 1-3. The fifth OVA will adapt the “Hirukowashi-hen” story.
