GKids To Distro Poppy Hill on BD

New York City based children’s animated film distributor GKids has confirmed plans to supplement its domestic limited theatrical release of Studio Ghibli’s From Up On Poppy Hill (Kokuriko-Zaka Kara) with a domestic DVD & BD release. The release will mark the first time a Studio Ghibli anime has been released on American home video by a distributor other than Disney since Miramax’s 2000 release of Princess Mononoke. Ghibli itself will produce an English dub for the American home video release.

    Miramax doesn’t really count, since they were still in the Disney fold at the time.
