A full theatrical trailer for next year’s .Hack//The Movie: Sekai no Mukou ni (Dot Hack The Movie: The Other Side of The World) has appeared. The feature will hit Japanese theaters on January 21.
Doesn’t look, to me, like it reaches the level of the excellent .hack//Quantum, but we’ll just have to wait and see.

Question:
Are remakes of anime good business for studios or is there a reason why we see no true sequels to really popular anime? Taking Rurouni Kenshin and Evangelion for example. Both series left off at stages where a sequel was open to continue the story lines, yet now we’re seeing either a retelling or remake of these series yet being starved from seeing true sequels. Is this a good direction or is this an attempt by anime studios to cash in on the popularity of a series.

Funimation simulcast when it aired on the Fuji TV network’s Noitamina block.
Nice to see this wonderful show getting a high end domestic home video release respectful of its stature. Now if we’d just get Ristorante Paradiso to match.
Super Dash & Go! magazine has revealed that an anime TV series adaptation of Jo Taketsuki’s action fantasy light novel series Campione! is now in development. A new two-minute trailer for Satelight’s Moretsu Uchuu Kaizoku ~ Bodacious Space Pirates anime television series has surfaced. The long-in-development adaptation of Yuichi Sasamoto’s Mini-Skir Uchu Kaizoku (Mini-skirt Space Pirate) light novel series was first announced in 2009. Tetsuo Sato (Nadesico, Stellvia) is directing for a January 7 premiere.
Not convinced. But at least this longer trailer suggests that the show could eventually become moderately intersting. Furthermore, since I clearly remember the 1980s, I simply can’t take any use of the adjective “bodacious” seriously anymore.

Question:
Am I the only person who isn’t even remotely interested in this Redline film? The synopsis makes it sound like a cousin to the Fast and the Furious films and that kind of thing seems more for American comic book fans. What’s the deal with the pockets of fandom hyping this thing? It certainly ended up being a colossal flop in its homeland.
Aniplex of America has announced plans for a simultaneous Japanese & American Blu-ray release of the current Fate/Zero television series. The first 13 episode boxed set will be released on March 7. The 7 disc set will contain 5 Blu-ray discs with optional English subtitles, the first series soundtrack CD, an original drama CD, and a booklet. The American release will include a second booklet of English translations of the Japanese booklet.
This really isn’t an “American release” as much as just an officially sanctioned opportunity for Americans to purchase the Japanese release at Japanese price.
