@princejarethh: There IS a graphic novel adaptation of the original book. Luna is half correct and probably not confusing animation with a comic book. But... again, only half. The graphic novel was published by IDW and the artists do not appear to be Japanese.

I like the comic quite a bit. It tells the story smoothly and there is just enough of the original anime designs to make me nostalgic, but enough is still different to make it still interesting to read.

Sigh... I really need to find out if this is coming to my city. I wasn't even born when it was released the first time.

It's funny how you call an American animated movie a "manga", when manga is a Japanese comic. Also ANIME is a Japanese cartoon. :D

Novel = story book manga = Japanese comic reading from right to left

Thanks the writer Peter S. Beagle for the noval and also all the manga workers, a more technical advanced "The Last Unicorn" is returning. Hope this will be another peak for the anime world. Actualy I know the manga has a very good theme, which is about being on the path to know oneself and know the world on the way to find friends, love and etc.. And I also love the song sing this manga, sung by Declan Galbraith, also the same as the manga"The Last Unicorn". Very beautiful.
