Chibi Devi! Anime Announced

The October issue of Ciao Magazine will formally announce tomorrow that an anime TV series adaptation of Hiromu Shinozuka’s shoujo comedy manga Chibi Devi! will air as part of the NHK television network’s Dai! Tensai Terebi-kun program beginning October 10. The story revolves around a middle-school girl raising an infant devil.

Viz Looking to Get More Programming on TV

Viz Media has partnered with media licensing and distribution company T3 Networks Inc. “to help expand upon the television distribution landscape with selected Viz Media series.” T3 Networks will market the Death Note, Inuyasha: The Final Act, Naruto, Nura: Rise of the Yokai Clan, Professor Layton and the Eternal Diva, and Vampire Knight properties to television and broadcast networks.

QP Drama to Premiere in October

Hiroshi Takahashi’s 1999-2001 gang culture manga series QP is serving as the inspiration for a live-action television series directed by Takeshi Miike. The drama will revolve around Ryo, a supporting character in Takahashi’s original manga. The QP manga occurs in the same continuity as Takahashi’s juvenile delinquent manga series Crows and Worst. Takeshi Miike directed two live-action film adaptations of the Crows manga. The QP television series will premiere on the NTV network on October 5.

On Obscure DVDs

The increasing scarcity of certain domestic anime DVDs has surfaced as a topic of conversation in the American otaku community lately, so here’s my contribution to the discussion. Just because I’ve been collecting domestic anime discs for so long, I’ve got a fairly extensive collection. But there are still some noteable gaps in my collection. Anybody want to assist me?
