New Kimi to Boku Trailer Online

The homepage for this fall’s Kimi to Boku television anime has added a new, second trailer that includes a brief amount of actual animation footage. The adaptation of Kiichi Hotta’s high school slice-of-life story will be two 13-episode seasons beginning this October.

Working’!! Trailer Online

The homepage for the Working!! anime franchise has added a streaming trailer for this October’s second TV series. The second season will be directed by Atsushi Ootsuki (Ladies versus Butlers!) and written by Takao Yoshioka. Yoshimasa Hiraike performed both duties for the first series.

Mashiro-Iro Symphony Trailer Released

Animate is now streaming the first trailer for the Mashiro-Iro Symphony anime TV series based on Palette’s Mashiro-Iro Symphony -Love is pure white- ero PC game. Manglobe is animating the production under director Eiji Suganuma (Kodomo no Jikan, Sasameki Koto). The show will premiere in October.

Shimanchu MiRiKa TV Series Announced

The homepage for Studio Soratia’s promotional anime Shimanchu MiRiKa has announced the development of a full TV series. The 2010 Shimanchu MiRiKa promotional anime was comissioned by the Okinawa Chamber of Commerce to promote Okinawan agriculture and industry. The TV series will premiere this fall.

HoshiKaka OVA Announced

Distributor Pony Canyon has announced that a Hoshizora e Kakaru Hashi OVA will hit Japanese DVD & BD on December 21, shortly after the December 7 release of the final home video volume of the 2011 television series. The HoshiKaka website reveals that the OVA episode will introduce a new OVA exclusive character.

K-On Movie Confirmed As A Sequel

The official website for this December’s K-On feature film confirms that the movie will be set after the events of the second K-On!! television series. Specifically, the film will depict the girls’ graduation trip to England. Early rumors suggested that the movie would be a side-story set prior to the end of the second television series. The movie will premiere on December 3.

Kotetsu no Vendetta Production on Hiatus

The website for the long-in-development independently produced sci-fi/mecha/action OVA Kotetsu no Vendetta has announced that development of the “Episode 0″ OVA has stalled because production sponsor Ankama Japan, subsidiary of French company Ankama Games, has gone out of business. Doujinshi circle Thumbnail is now looking for a new sponsor to enable completion of the production.

Broadcaster TBS has announced the development of a fourth Hidamari Sketch anime television series. The adapatation of Ume Aoki’s slice-of-life comedy manga has had three full TV series and two TV specials since 2007.

Mini-Skirt Pirates Delayed Again

The homepage for Satelight’s Moretsu Pirates anime series has announced that the anime’s premiere has been delayed until next year. The adaptation of Yuichi Sasamoto’s sci-fi adventure novel series was initially announced in 2009 under the title “Mini-Skirt Uchu Kaizoku” (Mini-Skirt Space Pirates). Its anime title was changed in March 2010.

To refresh your memory or introduce you to an interesting opening animation sequence, I submit the bizarre opening of the 1997 Sakura Momoko Gekijo: Coji-Coji TV series. The opening theme is “Coji-Coji Ginza” performed by POCKET COWBOY.

I just watched the first episode of this show yesterday.
