Sentai Announces New Acquisitions

Sentai Filmworks has announced its acquisition of the 2008 Allison to Lillia television series, the 2006 Hoshizora Kiseki (Starry-Sky Miracle) ONA, and the 2009 Korean short “Watashi no Coffee Samurai ~Jihanki Teki na Kareshi~” (My Coffee Samurai ~My Boyfriend is a Vending Machine~).

Hoshizora Kiseki & Coffee Samurai, both distributed in Japan by Comix Wave, will be released domestically on one subtitled DVD retailing at $19.98 beginning May 10.

The first 13 episodes of the 26 episode Allison & Lillia television anime will be released on subtitled DVD retailing at $49.98 on May 17. The fantasy drama is based on a light novel series by Kino’s Journey creator Keiichi Sigsawa.

Personally, I’m most pleased to see animator Chang Hyung Yun’s Coffee Samurai getting greater exposure. It got practically none at all back in late 2009 when it aired in Japan.
