Friday, February 25th, 2011

The upcoming Lotte no Omocha television series appears to have updated its title to Astallote no Omocha while releasing a second trailer. The adaptation of Yui Haga’s ongoing romantic fantasy comedy manga will premiere in April.

I’m not sure what to think about this yet. The action looks enjoyable, and the character design is interesting. But the clash of 2D and 3D is very jarring and distracting.

Tokuma Shoten Distributes Subbed Denno Coil

Tuesday, February 22nd, 2011

Japanese media company Tokuma Shoten has launched a “Cyber Coil” application, based on the award-winning 2007 anime series Denno Coil, for the iPhone and other mobile devices. The application is free, and allows users to download all 26 episodes of the Denno Coil anime with English subtitles for $2.99 per episode.

It’s great to see this exceptional anime still getting some support, and in the absence of a conventional English friendly release, this translated release is a nice better-than-nothing.
