NY Comic Con to Host Mardock Scramble Premiere

The upcoming New York Comic Con will host the world premiere of GoHands & director Susumu Kudo’s anime feature film Mardock Scramble: The First Compression. Original Mardock Scramble author Tow Ubukata will personally introduce the premiere screening on October 8. The film opens in Japanese theaters on November 6.

Seems just a little bit odd to me to premiere this Japanese film at an American convention primarily devoted to American comics. But it’s not an unwelcome surprise.

    Actually, the New York Comic Con and the New York Anime Festival are being held at the same time at the Jacob Javits Center, so having a premiere of an anime film there makes some sense. I have also read that if you purchase a pass for one con, it will get you into the other.
