Sentai Acquires Highschool of the Dead

Sentai Filmworks has formally announced its domestic acquisition of the upcoming Highschool of the Dead anime television series. Madhouse’s adaptation of Daisuke Sato and Shouji Sato’s action horror manga will initially simulcast weekly on The Anime Network beginning at 1am EDT on Monday, July 5. A bilingual home video release will follow.

    Offhand, that’s the fastest I can remember a license announcement coming out after the premiere of an anime, which means talks must have been in the works for quite some time prior to this. Too bad the fansub community seems to have reached the point where this no longer matters…

    Since I can’t edit post, I should add that AnimeSuki is still respectable in this matter, with titles being removed as their licenses are announced, but they’re about the only ones I know of..
