Ishida's work here has some incredible production design in the first thirty seconds or so. Student film animation in the States isn't always as fantastic as those from France, Canada, or Japan because on the majority the projects (in the States) are solo-productions... but every great animation program has its fare share of great shorts. This is the kind of universal material that doesn't require a translation to fully enjoy. The animation is superb, the character designs are unique, and the sound design is top notch.
