AICN Anime linked a similar story about him ranting against the new AB, ‘cus it’s CG. http://johnkstuff.blogspot.com/2009/09/what-are-2-most-prominent-features-of.html BTW, most people are too young to remember Ren and Stimpy, even with that Spike TV thing, so you might wanna mention he worked on that. ^_- He told me, when he was screenin’ his old stuff in L.A., that AB was his favorite anime. Kinda weird, because, animation-wise, it was leagues behind even the Hanna Barbera stuff he hated working on so much.

I did read John K.’s criticism of the Astro Boy movie but didn’t link to it here on the blog because despite titling it “The 2 Most Prominent Features of Anime,” he didn’t actually identify two prominent characteristics of anime. Ultimately, he was just expressing some uncertainty about the new Astro Boy movie, which a lot of people have done. So I didn’t think his thoughts were more or less worth referencing than anyone else’s.

He never did comment on my link of pics of certain spirits from Shaman King who looked like certain characters he’s known for, either. :(

Dead Leaves always struck me as something that J.K. would have worked on in another time and place…. two parts 50′s retro, one part J.K., and one part hallucinogenic drug of your choice..
