2009 Suzumiya Haruhi Episodes Officially On YouTube

Japanese publisher Kadokawa has added the first 8 episodes of the current Japanese Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya television series, with English subtitles, to its YouTube Channel. The first 7 episodes of the current Japanese series were initially broadcast in 2006 and are available on American DVD. However, episode 8 is the first “new” episode produced specifically for the 2009 broadcast. The English-subtitled episodes will be available until July 5.

    Would someone PLEASE explain to me the appeal of the whole Haruhi phenomena?

    Seriously.

    The whole thing seems to be pointless ways to get Asahina to wear sexy outfits (if any at all) while we watch a number of characters act out useless fantasies to keep Haruhi interested.

    No surprise this should come out of the same studio that did the “anime about nothing” Lucky Star. *cringe*
