You should be glad it got picked up at all, since I'm still waiting for the possibility of any distributor showing any interest in the Tachiguishi movies. As for Advent Children, it got bootlegged to the point that the company would just lose money releasing it in theaters. You should be glad it got picked up at all, since I’m still waiting for the possibility of any distributor showing any interest in the Tachiguishi movies. But seeing a limited release is somewhat nice... it tells me that though they didn't release Oshii's film in a limited-to-wide release, and although they skipped out on FFVII: Advent Children, they haven't abandoned the thought altogether. Sony usually does anime theatrical releases justice (though I’m rather miffed that Oshii’s THE SKY CRAWLERS didn’t make the rounds).
