Warner to Produce the American Death Note Movie
Last year Vertigo Entertainment, the producer of American film remakes of Asian horror movies including The Grudge, Dark Water, Shutter, and The Uninvited, acquired the rights to set up an American live action film adaptation of Tsugumi Ohba and Takeshi Obata’s supernatural suspense manga Death Note. Brothers Vlas and Charles Parlapanides were reported to be developing a screenplay. Variety Magazine now reports that Warner Bros. will back the production with the Parlapanides brothers writing and directing the picture.
