Summer Wars Trailer Released

Japanese publisher Kadokawa has added the first trailer for director Mamoru Hosoda’s (Girl Who Leapt Through Time) upcoming film Summer Wars to YouTube. The trailer is was first released at last month’s Tokyo International Anime Fair. The Madhouse produced film will open in Japanese theaters this summer.

    Is that Hosoda-style now? It looks like it takes place in the same universe as his previous film.

    and a bit in that trailer looks right out of his old “Superflat Monogram” short w/ Takashi Murakami

    I guess that makes sense. I didn’t realize that Hosoda directed the Superflat Monogram short film, because when I first saw the Summer Wars trailer last month, Superflat Monogram was the first thing that came to mind.
